Were tv stations, a passenger train, schools and even the Chinese embassy all “legitimate targets”?

    Anyone but NATO type post

I’ll humour your questions with a response though:

    1. Yes

    2. depends on passengers

    3. No

    4. Probably yes

But also, were each of those actual targets?

If you mean UK military in general and not specifically the paras, RAF pilots obviously contributed to the NATO bombing of Kosovo. That resulted in the killing of many local combatants, mostly Serbian military but also Albanian KLA. Many civilians in both Kosovo and Serbia were also killed by the bombing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilian_casualties_during_Operation_Allied_Force

And many more civilians would have been killed without those bombings.

You do realise this is literally every football fan on the planet you are describing?

For every Celtic fan claiming it was a clear push by Morelos on Saturday you’ll find equal numbers claiming there wasn’t enough in Giakoumakis’ push on the Killie boy to award a penalty in the semi final, as an example.

Every single set of supporters shout about decisions going against them louder than they do decisions going in their favour.

clear 2 handed shove… Morelos wouldn’t have got near the ball without the push.

Also, you’re comparing turnips to totties.

A para is someone who's volunteered to go abroad and kill men for the "crime" of defending their homeland from the paras' invasion. We can recognise that such volunteers are deliberately steered down that path by both propaganda and socio-economic conditions. Yet an element of choice was present and I don't think its unfair to judge them for that choice. If we can question the character of Russians volunteering to do this to Ukrainians then we can also question the character of Brits volunteering to do it to Iraqis, Afghans, Kosovans and the rest.

When did brits do it to kosovans?

Maybe a point already made, but can I just say how very much I am enjoying Celtic fans sharing videos of the 2005 Pope BOOOOO at Hampden and

    1) Claiming this was not widely reported in the media at the time 😀

    2) Using it as an example of free-speech and saying 'I've got no problem with Hearts fans booing', as if this was the stated opinion of ANY Celtic fans at the time whatsoever.

    Fucking marvelous stuff.

I wasn’t on PnB then, but I had no problems with Hearts fans booing that.

What a woman, she truly transcends politics and time. What a speech today. I would have hoped that brought a wee tear to even the most joyless of the hard nosed republicans.

We will lose her soon, and what a loss she will be. Let’s celebrate her twilight years.

Post your messages of tribute to our head of state on here.

    Long to reign over us.

    Not sure if serious…

There have been 4... all at Oriam... indeed I might be the only man alive to have witnessed them all:

Sunday 19th March 2017     Spartans 2-1 Lothian Thistle HV     EOS Qualifying Cup, Final     crowd c400
(neutral venue) (held as a novelty after facility opened earlier in season - not due to bad weather)

Saturday 6th January 2018     Heriot-Watt University 2-2 Stirling University     EOS League     crowd c50

Saturday 17th March 2018     Heriot-Watt University 2-3 Leith Athletic     EOS League      crowd c200
(held as a novelty during Groundhop with teatime kickoff - not due to bad weather)

Friday 18th February 2022     Edinburgh College 2-2 Pumpherston     EOS League First Division Conference X     crowd c100

Friendlies and games at womens/youth/junior/etc. levels have also ventured indoors.

I think the indoor facility Celtic are putting together at Barrowfield is for the women’s team… who play a summer league

Rightly or wrongly (I'm not a monarchist but I'm not getting involved in the rights and wrongs), traditionally the monarch is the head of the Church of England so it sort of goes without saying they have to be C of E. It's a bit like saying the Pope has to be Catholic.

The rules were no doubt written when they wouldn't have considered any other religion so I assume that's why only Roman Catholics are specifically excluded.

This, but also why are people who clearly aren’t CoE acting like their God given Idol has just been taken away.

Regardless of political views, folk should be able to stand for a minutes applause or silence without creating a scene.

A little bit of TL;DR, sorry about that…

i agreed with your initial point right up until it became clear that sports events or anything fun was being postponed and industrial action was being cancelled (never cancelled for exams or other events)

Then during an energy & cost of living crisis, the state would pay for a dead body to go on tour complete with a massive entourage…

you can have your minute’s applause/silence in your house.

More reports that there is a ceasefire agreed but also that attacks on Armenia continue.

Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan has said that 49 Armenian soldiers have been killed.  There are no figures for Azeri casualties but there are reports that they have taken losses also.

Has Armenia not been invaded though?

A meltdown of a nuclear reactor is nothing compared to an exchange of nuclear missiles. The deaths at Chernobyl were nearly all confined to the fire fighters and workers trying to contain it, about 30. The long term effects were much milder than feared. The nuclear weapons available to both sides are many times more destructive than the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. To create a nuclear chain reaction you need highly enriched bomb grade lumps of uranium or plutonium squashed together, it would be impossible for that to happen to a nuclear reactor. They've shut down all the reactors anyway, so a meltdown and major leaks of radioactive dust is less likely to happen.

This will make Chernobyl look like nothing. Russia’s presence in the area should be treated as a nuclear attack on Poland, Romania and Turkey.
