I agree when things went wrong we had no plan B on the bench. I though Gowzer was fine but Thomson and Harkins were as good as useless in the second half. They don't have the fitness necessary at this level simple as that.

I agree. Unfortunately we are talking about a guy who will play less than 50% of our games this season. If, in the 50% of games he did play, he scored lots of goals of had lots of assists then he would be worthy of being our captain, highest wage earner, best player accolades from fans blah blah blah.

I think McGowan is the best midfielder we have at the moment. If he could grab a few goals he would be amazing but those kind of players are like gold dust. A lot of fans get a bricker about Thomson but he has scored 6 goals in 12 years!

I am sure it was a worthwhile exercise for the players and manager but from a fans point of view these friendlies are really shit. I might be wrong because I fell asleep several times but I am sure we only had one shot on target in the whole 90 mins. Wigan not much better - I think they had two. Did anyone else notice Tank having a 5 yard start on a Wigan defender only to be caught with ease? The big man has good feet but with no pace or goals I can't see him playing much this season.

The wind had absolutely no affect on the game today. And the pitch was good. I am totally chilled guys - I think I am the only one that is! I am the only one not running around making excuses for what I thought was a poor performance. Just saying the players we had out today should be good enough to win against a team like Brechin comfortably. In my opinion a lot of the players didn't put a decent shift in today. Simple as that.

The only people making mountains are the one's who feel it necessary to make excuses for a poor performance and against a team we should be beating comfortably. You are now on to "3rd stringers" - after slating a perfectly good pitch and mild weather conditions! All complete pish.

Stewart was pretty poor in my opinion although did put a good ball through to Hemmings late on. McGinn and Kerr weren't bad and Holt looked good. A few players will have to get their finger out if they want to be part of the starting eleven (Roberts has no chance). Not having any of this "it was a 2nd string line-up", "pitch was poor", "conditions were bad" pish. We had a strong team on show, the pitch was better than decent and the weather will get a lot worse soon!
