  1. Took in the Cascadian derby game there 3 seasons ago against Seattle. Where the new stand is now, was a gym. It was the most bizarre sight to see the windows opened at the top and see people on a row of cycle machines doing their exercise and watching the game at the same time.
  2. Thought if the game had went on another 10 minutes, Broxburn might have snatched a draw at least. Their tactics weren't that great and the goalie sold all 3 goals. However, the last 15 minutes Burn seemed to have the ascendency. Still fancy Bonnyrigg over all, and I'm expecting a large crowd on Wednesday.
  3. Off to see Hammarby v Eskilstuna in the Swedish top league over Easter, followed by hopefully Seville v Leganés a couple of weeks later. If the fixture gods are kind that weekend, possibly Cadiz v Malaga and/ or Sevilla Atletico at home.
  4. As well as the Juniors secretary not being interested, they also tried approaching the SFA, who apparently didn't even bother responding. If this is the case, shame on them. Their loss was the EoSL win.
  5. Went to see Vozdovac v Partizan Belgrade a couple of weeks ago. Pitch is on top of a 5 story shopping mall. Had to get a lift up to the top to get in. Very surreal.
  6. Hopefully heading to the first two games on Saturday. Would love to do all 4, but the missus would kill me if I tried it.
  7. Big ground hop this weekend with a lot of fans from down South coming up to see 6 East of Scotland games, over the weekend. Saturday is the biggy. 4 games on the day. Starting with Camelon v Edinburgh Utd 11am ko. Then on to Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts v Herriot Watt at 2:15. Then on to Blackburn v Preston at 5:15, and finally Linlithgow v Jeanfield Swifts at 8pm. According to the guy who's running this, he reckons their could be up to a couple of hundred turning up for this, with someone travelling from Germany as well. Their's also a game at Dunipace on Friday evening, and a game at Peebles, on their way back down the road on Sunday.
  8. I just posted a similar article on European football weekends on FB, and had some random Serb calling me a scumbag.[emoji23][emoji23][emoji15]
  9. If we could get back to an A5 size again and something that is easily read at half time or before the game, and stuck in a pocket. Let's face it, once were back home, any info we need, we'll more than likely get on line. It's defo a Northern European thing, with very few Southern European clubs producing them. Some clubs are only doing digital versions only now, which is worrying. The ones I really hate are the telephone directory ones that are done at World Cup tourni's, etc. Generic info that's a waste of time and nowhere to keep them on you during a game.
  10. Saw them at Stenhousemuir as well. Got to say, they were a bit off standard, but it must have been a great trip for the guys and a great learning experience.
  11. Just back from a Belgrade triple header. Saturday, took in third div game in morning. FK Bask 1 v Jedinstvo 0. Belgrade's oldest club(Bask) play at a tidy 2 sided stadium which has a poor 3G pitch. A scrappy game which ended up with a win for the home team. I just rolled up in the morning, and walked in for nothing. Later that day it was Red Star Belgrade 4 v Zemun 0. Red Star's 74th birthday was celebrated with a huge pyrotechnic show by the Ultras. Add that to a ticket price of about 70p, and it was a cracking night out. Sunday's derby game nearly didn't happen for me. The police decided that Vozdoc's home game to Partizan would only have a crowd of about 500, due to security reasons. Because of this It was only VIP's for Vozdovak and Ultras for Partizan that got the few tickets. I managed to blag a ticket by making out I was press from the UK. Took quite a lot of phone calls, people asking and bullshit, but I eventually got ushered in with one of the official photographers. The game was terrible, partly due to another poor 4G pitch, and partly due to the teams being crap. Summed up with an awful f#ck up by the Partizan sweeper, which caused the goal. This game was played on the most unusual place I've ever seen. Directly on the roof of a supermarket, about 7 floors up. Belgrade is a brilliant place to watch footy, with the fans being mental. The city itself is superb. Great cafe, restaraunt and bar scene, with plenty of culture of you need it. Locals generally are friendly and it's as cheap as chips to stay there. Just wish we could get direct flights from Scotland, as it was a bit of a pain having to go via Amsterdam.
  12. Taking in the Burnley v Palace game this Sunday, then heading to Belgrade next week for as much footy as I can get. I'll never complain again about the Spanish & Portuguese leaving fixture dates/times to the last minute. The Serbs have raised the bar!
  13. Was also at the Wanda the other day. Thought Villarreal had quite a few decent chances without playing particularly well. What the No6 was doing with the 2nd goal, I'm not quite sure. He did all the correct stuff on getting back to the goal line......then just stopped. Also took in the Léganes game as well, with Valencia doing what they've been brilliant at all season........drawing.
  14. Looks like Reus in Segunda league have been banned for 5 years from playing, for not paying players wages. All results from first half of season stand, but all second half season results will be classed as wins to the opposition. Malaga must be kicking themselves, as they were one of the last clubs to play near bottom place Reus before they went t#ts up before Christmas. Malaga, who are challenging for the league, were beaten 3-0 at home by them.
  15. Next season East of Scotland is splitting into 2 leagues. Looking as if it's going to be predominantly ex junior clubs that'll be in 1st div, but that could change.
  16. You defo don't want to try Turkey then![emoji23]
  17. Took in conference C showdown between Broxburn and Linlithgow last Saturday. Broxburn winning 4-3 after being 3-2 down. Two poor defences with Lithgae probably being the better team in the 2nd half. Still to see Penicuik this season.
  18. I'm plumping for the East of Scotland, conference C big fixture this weekend. Second v first. Broxburn v Lithgae Rose. Should be a decent support as well.
  19. Bound to be a rake of Terecera games on in that region within striking distance of Valencia. Public transport may be the issue though. I had the same problem in Malaga last November.
  20. Always thought Kevin Christie played well for us when Ivo den Bemen joined us. Quite a good pairing. When Ivo departed, Kevin got found out.
  21. Talking of "Worst Falkirk teams", no one has mentioned the team that should have been relegated, but not for Airdrie's demise. I went a callander year without seeing us win a game. Mind you, with some of the players that McCall brought in the following season from Airdrie, it turned us into a championship winning team. I could be wrong, but didn't we blood the likes of Lee Miller and Mark Kerr in that poor team?
  22. Heading down to Liverpool with Rab B Nesbit next weekend to see them play Arsenal.....and who knows what else!
  23. You could perm 8 from any of the squad members. The list should be endless.
  24. Malaga v Granada on Dec 1st, and Real Betis v Real Sociadad the next day.
