  1. Off to Crystal Palace v QPR on 14th March with a few mates. First time at Selhurst Park.
  2. Cheers Aloysius, will let you know what happens. To be honest, I was only aware of the big 3 in Istanbul and never even gave a thought about other clubs.
  3. Booked up for Istanbul late September this year and looking to get a game in. Anyone got any experience of taking a game in over there? Any feedback would be great fully accepted.
  4. I took in Napoli v Sampdoria at the San Paolo a couple of years back, and part of the upper tier of the stadium is closed due to it being a crumbling wreck. Not sure what the capacity is now, but it needs demolished, never mind upgraded.
  5. Went to see 1860 and Unterachen on the same weekend back in 88. Both were playing in the regional amature leagues at the time. Unterachen went on to spend a season in the 2nd div a few years later but fell away again.
  6. Got let down with Koln tickets 3 years ago when they announced at the last minute their would be no public sale. Their loss, I got tickets for Dortmund v Nurnburg which transpired to be the game that they won the bundesliga. Every time I've phoned a German club for tickets, I've been fortunate enough to get someone who speaks perfect English.
  7. Looks like I've got a busy schedule early 2015. Possibly Crystal Palace v QPR in March, Legia Warsaw v Piast Gliwice over Easter, then Roma v Atalanta in April, then Elche v Bilbao in April and finally Newcastle V West Ham in May. Excited about going to some or all of them.
  8. Took in 2 games last season on our footy weekend. The first one being Sparta Prague v Slovan Liberec. Think it was 4-1 to Sparta in the end. Not a bad game and at just over £5 to get in, a snip. Standard of footy probably on par with what we get back home here. The second game we took in was for my own favourite club, The Bohemians. They were playing against Slavia in a derby game (sadly, lost 1-0). This is a cracking wee club playing in a traditional stadium. The capacity now is just over 5000 and we had an almighty struggle getting tickets. Bohemians are what following a team is all about. They're local, and have no hang ups about who they are or what they represent. Added to the fact they are off the tourist trail, you can sit at the wee bar next to the stadium and get a pint for as cheap as chips. They seem to be doing a whole lot better this season than last, where they managed to avoid relegation on literally the last game of the season.
  9. Was at the Letzi stadium a few years back for France v Romania in the Euro championships. Typical running track stadium with crap view. The game didn't help mind you. 0-0 and probably one of the worst games I've ever been to. Hope I haven't spoiled your day.
  10. Looking to take in a game in Warsaw next April. Anyone got any experience of getting tickets for Legia games. As I understand it, you have to be a member of their club. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Went to see Hajduk Split v Dundalk last week in the Europa League. Surprisingly, Dundalk won 2-1. Alas, they lost the first game at home 2-0. Dundalk could consider themselves a wee bit unlucky, as their decision making in front of goal let them down in the end. The Split fans are crazy. For 105 minutes they never stopped singing and backed their team. Roughly 10,000 turned up for the game at the Poljud stadium. Roughly a tenner for the ticket, and it was money well spent.
  12. Change of plans for me. UEFA have swapped dates for both Split clubs in the 2nd round Europa League. Instead of watching. RNK Split v Beer Sheva(Israel), it's now going to be Hadjuk Split v Dundalk! Happy? You bet.
  13. Hopefully see Europa League 2nd round match in Split. RNK Split v Hapoel Beer Sheva (Israel). Was kinda hoping I'd get to see Hadjuk at home but they're away from home on our visit to Split.
  14. Just back from seeing Bohemians v Slavia and Sparta v Slovan Liberec. Cracking weekend away with the games costing about £7 odds each. Took a trip down to Eden to see Slavia's ground as well. Didn't get inside, but from the outside it just looks like an office block. Take a trip a mile up the road and you'll see Dolicek (Bohemians wee ground). A throw back to the 70's and a great place to watch a game. Tram 24 will take you down to Eden from the centre of the town. Enjoy yourself and remember, the beer is as cheap as chips!
  15. Aye, went to see Bohemians play Slavia back in 2000. Cracking wee stadium with a great set of supporters. Haven't seen Sparta yet though.
  16. Off to see Sparta Prague v Slovan Liberal next Saturday and Bohemians Prague v Slavia on Sunday. Really looking forward to our weekend in Prague and especially the Kangaroos game on Sunday!
  17. Also off to Newcastle v Palace this weekend and in 5 weeks hopefully Sparta Prague v Slovan Liberec &. Bohemians v Slavia Prague.
  18. Dusseldorf is my place of choice. Cracking city within an hour of most Bundesliga clubs. Great nightlife in the old town as well!
  19. Off to Hamburg tomorrow with the guys and we have briefs for Hamburg v Dusseldorf on Saturday.
  20. Sadly, the German fans seem to have spurious links to both Celtic and Rangers which is fine if you support one of the OF. However, as in the 6 of us who don't support any of the OF, it gets to be a pain in the arse every time you mention you're Scottish. It's automatically assumed that you support one or the other. Had this happen on about 6 occasions in one game in particular in Dortmund when I had a Scotland top on and in Hamburg as well.
  21. Maybe get in some of Bronby's home game on Easter Monday. The only problem is we'd only get in about 50 minutes of the game due to having to rush straight back to the airport to get our flight home. Also means taking hand luggage to the game. All probably more hassle than its worth.
  22. I'll second that. Dusseldorf it is. Cracking city and the old town is superb!
  23. I know it sounds daft, but try phone the club and explain your situation. Generally most people I've spoken to at various clubs speak English. They may have access to a few tickets. Also try things like the tourist information centre of Monchengladbach to see if they have any sources. Also viagogo. I saw the revised fixture list last night and our game(Hamburg v Dusseldorf) is on the Saturday afternoon. Was kinda hoping that Bremen's game would be put to the Sunday so we could take it in as well, but it's got a later time on Saturday evening, so we'll miss it.
  24. Tickets booked for Vancouver Whitecaps v Chicago on July 14 th & then Seattle v Colorado on July 20th. The missus is chuffed to bits........not.
