have you got your accomodation sorted out yet. If not I can recommend a great hotel in Dusseldorf. Dusseldorf is ideal because you're equi distant from all the other major cities. Also if their are a few of you going, get a "good friends" day pass for the train. Good for up to 5 people and costs about 30 euros and can be used for any of the cities in the Westphalia region.
