  1. Weird, but business is business. The withdrawal was a farce but there might have been legit reasons behind it. If they turn round a year later and want to put more money in, then the club isn't going to say no. I bet we took payment up front, though.
  2. I'd be objectively fascinated to see Neilson get the gig. I'd love to see how he approaches getting a side out of trouble. Reasonable chance he could do it, but also a chance he gets massively found out. I think Martindale probably keeps St Johnstone up, probably at Livi's expense, so he'd be the obvious choice in that respect. Billy Dodds would be magnificent entertainment for everyone else but an absolute disastrous appointment.
  3. Just need to keep 10 men on the park. If we do that than there's every chance we can at least give them a game.
  4. Still stands, imo. I think he'd be a decent fit, but he'd be better off waiting for the summer to take the job, whether you stay up or go down. If you stay up, great: he gets a stab at a Prem club. If you go down, you should skoosh the Championship.
  5. Alex Rae actually did an alright job for us for six months under exactly the conditions you've described there.
  6. Delighted to see Callum Davidson on this list. Unfinished business, IMO.
  7. It's the likeable Saintees like @tree house tam that I feel bad for. I hope this isn't making him really fucking miserable.
  8. You're not incorrect, tbh. This is the best we've had it since the league cup win. I guess the concern for you is that this moment could be the zenith of your next decade. Fucking worrying time to be a Saintee.
  9. Scoring more goals in a game than your opponents have managed all season is a flex.
  10. Flynn at RWB is an interesting move. Bolton must still be struggling.
  11. 11/10 on the draw/away double chance looks like the shout for cynical profiteering Buddies.
  12. Glowing praise from McLean for Robinson here. Sad to see how the threshold for success has fallen in Perthshire since they won Shroedinger's double. Edit: I do realise that knowing the correct time is probably a valuable skill in agrarian Perthshire, so maybe this is actually high praise.
  13. I see no problem playing McMenamin at RWB as a stopgap measure. In our set up, it's a very attacking position that carries a lot of influence. We've seen more assists from there than we have from RWF. That might be down to the individual players, but it shows we're not exactly stifling the guys at RWB. It's then just an opportunity to play a different attacking player in front of him. I expect we'll see a front three of Olusanya, Kiltie and Mandron.
  14. Did Burchall play for Trinidad & Tobago while on loan with us?
  15. Tanser signed a two year extension. Class. Weird though because we were definitely told he and his agent would be angling for a move after one season.
  16. Hope the game's not in any danger. Trains being cancelled across Scotland today, apparently. While we are far from favourites, this does represent a decent chance to get at a weakened Rangers and I'll be disappointed if they get breathing space to regroup.
  17. Possibly. A Partick Thistle fan started the St Mirren (Championship) Relegation Express thread in 16-17. Remember Partick Thistle?
  18. The job was too big for him. I don't mean that we are massive, (though, of course, we are...) more that we were an absolute basket case at that point. Just relegated from the prem, divisions in the dressing room, senior pros who were about the same age as Murray who were never going to respect him, no recruitment strategy, the players he did bring in were shite, came into a strong league with Hibs and Rangers... he was just miles out his depth to the point that Alex Rae represented a brief improvement. Obviously the above is the 'doing him some credit' view. Others will point out his terrible tactics and lack of leadership, etc. I think he was 34 when he took that job and it was just too much for him. It took a change of club ownership and, eventually, an inspired 18 months under Jack Ross to turn us around.
  19. We've all been there: pissing around on your phone during a teams call when someone suddenly asks for your opinion. In fact that's what I'm doing right now. Thank f**k I don't have the combined social media whining of Liverpool FC after me every time I fudge out a blagged response. All that said, I do wish we, as a club, were doing a bit more complaining about this. Unless we are and it's happening behind the scenes. But holy f**k it's getting ridiculous now.
