  1. And even if we're playing 3-4-3, we can't go into this phase of the season with just two genuine first team midfielders. One of which has been off the boil and the other, in CBM, has been good but wouldn't really be first choice under normal circumstances. We absolutely needed a signing of this type, so I'm pleased we've addressed it and I hope he turns out to be decent.
  2. Oh look Morton have finally managed to get a few points on the board. Welcome back mate.
  3. Studs up contact with any part of the opponent's body is usually a red, tbf. People seem to be suggesting that there might be an exception here because Hart was bending but if he got him in the thigh he'd likely have been in trouble as well.
  4. Meh. Could offer excuses relating to ye absence of O'Hara and Baccus, but in truth we've been playing without the real O'Hara for months anyway. Those two early goals could have gone in with our best team on the pitch, and our best team would have struggled to come back from 2-0 down. The red card was a red card - if he went in like that on someone's knee elsewhere on the pitch, it's a red all day long. So yeah, glad that we kept the score respectable by virtue of Celtic taking the foot off and Hemming having a class game. Obviously the endless niggly fouls that don't get given are a frustration, but that'll never change for clubs like ours. Days like this you miss the likes of Curtis Main who knew how to properly body defences.
  5. Especially when you consider the proportional influence of those respective players at us Vs Celtic. It is what it is, I guess. Out midfield could be properly makeshift, but we've snuck 0-0 drawers against Celtic twice on recent seasons while we've been at very low ebbs: early in Kearney's reign and then in the COVID season when we made 18 changes to the starting line up and fielded three under-12s. The Twitter heads gone before and after that game from Rangers and Celtic fans respectively was a marvellous thing.
  6. Fair enough. Though not sure what I'm supposed to do with this now:
  7. Robson is safe as long as Cormack hasn't cried on the radio yet.
  8. The Dons board know that his achievements so far are above par for modern day Aberdeen and they are rightly giving him time.
  9. The novelty for United is the occasional season in the big league.
  10. Probably comes down to whose hands those four games are in. Obviously the rest of the league is hoping Robson gets to continue, which on your current PPG leaves you on about 23-24 points. The game yesterday showed what a knife edge we play our football on, and shows why our form has been so poor. The stakes are high when you're happy giving possession away: when you do have the ball, your passes have to count and you have to be clinical. Recently we've been gash in possession, passes and crosses have been poor and movement has been a bit shit. Yesterday, all of those were better and it made the world of difference. When we get those things right, we're still a very competitive side at this level. When we get them wrong, we can get papped 4-0 by Dundee. Can only hope Ayunga takes a boost from his goal, that we can add some depth/options in the middle of the park, (ie replace Baccus), and that Elvis turns out to be the real deal.
  11. Also don't recall any Livi fans saying 'I wish we were getting relegated' while they were finishing top six.
  12. Tbf, some jobbies never get anywhere near the surface.
  13. I was in the ground for that one. Utterly ridiculous. Even worse (for me) was the fact that I'd not updated my postal address on the Saints online ticket portal at the time, and had to go to collect my match ticket from my ex's house. Fucking hell she hated me Go through that to see Skacel ripping the piss. Didn't need it.
  14. That was a fucking wild game. It was awful but entertaining. Motherwell edged it, I feel, certainly in terms of clear chances created. But if you miss a penalty (which should have been retaken for encroachment but I think the ref had long since given up on enforcing any of the major rules) then you've only got yourselves to blame. Biereth is a player; the battle between him and Gogic was decent. I suspect Biereth is still lacking fitness as Gogic noticeably got on top in the final 15.
  15. Honestly seeing Mugabi getting away with two absolute stonewall yellows has given me an aneurysm. Ridiculous. Zdravkovski can go f**k himself as well, the p***k. This game is making me incredibly anxious. I think it's because every player on the park is a split second away from a huge error. Could go any direction, and that's just the ball.
  16. I'm still dreading Tanser and his agent agitating for a move south of the border on bigger wages two summers ago.
  17. Think we've been alright tbh. We created some decent chances against St Johnstone, didn't take them, and paid massively. Hope this isn't following the same pattern. Jonah and Stav together is looking like a combo with potential.
  18. I didn't want facts to get in the way of my little joke.
