  1. I was really surprised Dunne got the nod yesterday (he might have scored but going by reports he didn't do his job particularly well) over Taylor, unless Taylor isn't fit. And I thought we'd ditched Flynn playing at rightback earlier in the season when we put Small at RWB and looked a lot better. Surely could have done the same with Brown. As soon as I saw that team I was worried - although at half-time I wasn't too concerned. Bizarre that neither Baccus nor Kwon started. McMenamin coming in from the off was also a bit of a surprise. Fully understand folk being annoyed and angry after yesterday (aside from the usual OTT comments on Twitter) but I just found myself laughing at the ridiculous predictability of it all. There's not much more you can do when a man who used to present Blue Peter is screaming "And there's been another goal for Kilmarnock" every two minutes. My mood would almost certainly have been totally different had I been there. To cap it all, I was at a quiz last night and there was a football question about Hammarby
  2. Has anyone done the Manchester Marathon before and, if so, what's the start process like? I can access the start process at 8.40am to start at 9.30am but worried about queues for loos etc if I turn up bang on 8.40 (not planning to use the bag drop). When should I realistically aim to be there? Doesn't help I'm staying on the other side of the city a good 45 minutes tram ride away. Last big race I did was GNR and start was a bit chaotic with the numbers.
  3. Aye, the level of support we were taking had me worried but at half time it was looking like we’d put that particular demon to rest. Sadly, the St Mirren we know and love/loathe decided to reappear for the last half hour.
  4. Yup. Watching Soccer Saturday, as soon as it went 2-1 I knew which way this was going. Didn’t expect the collapse to be quite that quick! Real concern we’ll throw away top six as well now.
  5. Continuing the trend that F1 is more exciting off track than on it, Massa has now filed his law suit over crashgate: https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/what-we-have-learned-about-massas-64m-f1-court-action/10586765/ Not about the money, it's about the title - which is presumably why he's looking for £64 million. Interesting to know what he's hoping to use to back up his case. Max Mosely and Charlie Whiting are both dead and the whole thing has been sparked by comments made by Bernie Ecclestone. Good luck winning a court case based on what a 93-year-old claims happened 15 years ago!
  6. There's some good articles in Nutmeg as well as some utterly bizarre stuff. There was a truly weird statty one a while back with someone trying to plot the geographical axis of power in Scottish football every season or something similarly mad. The cartoon/humour thing at the back is also pretty poor. Some of the articles about actual football things are good.
  7. I could be really cruel and say it definitely was not me and you should give me some money, but no, it was me!
  8. With five weeks to go, another plug for my Manchester Marathon efforts to raise money for ACCORD. All donations greatly appreciated at https://www.justgiving.com/page/stuartisturning40 You can read a bit about why I'm doing it at www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/galloway-news-reporter-marking-milestone-32279216
  9. Five weeks to go to the Manchester Marathon. Have managed three 23 mile runs, yesterday a proper test with right breakfast, gels etc and it was a good eight minutes quicker than the one about a month ago (not that I was going for pace), so that's encouraging. If anyone wants to sponsor me, you can do so at https://www.justgiving.com/page/stuartisturning40 All donations greatly appreciated, you can read why I'm doing it at www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/galloway-news-reporter-marking-milestone-32279216
  10. Ethan Sutherland, who is on loan at Alloa, getting a bit of praise on The Terrace's lower league podcast today. Seems Gallagher Lennon might be struggling a bit at Dumbarton though (and that's not just based on them getting thumped by Stranraer during the week).
  11. It has been handled unbelievably badly. Aside from anything else, why has she been suspended and he wasn't while he was investigated? Some laugh him telling everyone to move on and to keep his family out of it - despite being more than happy to be pictured with his wife a week ago. The start of second episode of the new series of Drive to Survive was unintentionally funny when Santa asked Horner if he'd been a good boy
  12. Part of the problem is most of them aren't even at the races and just regurgitate other people's stuff. It's pretty easy for a story which doesn't have much truth in it gather pace because it'll soon appear on numerous other websites.
  13. Given the job he's done for us, you have to assume there will be interest in Robinson - maybe not from Aberdeen but there will surely be decent League One clubs considering him, if not ones higher up. Hopefully we have some sort of succession planning going on behind the scenes - worked out OK two years ago.
  14. I was the same. I was convinced Olusanya was offside so was waiting for the inevitable VAR review and was a bit surprised there wasn't a check. It wasn't until watching Sportscene that I realised some Aberdeen idiot had inexplicably decided to stand on the post and play everyone onside.
  15. I had Air by AfterShokz (as they were then called) and they were ideal, got four years out of them before they decided to stop charging for some reason and that was that. By that point I'd had a pair of Shokz Openrun sitting in a box for a year - there had been some post on Facebook about claiming a pair which incredibly wasn't a scam aside from getting me on their mailing list for eternity - and they're fine too. I only listen to podcasts and they do the job. Next up on the kit advice - anyone know a decent pair of running shorts that have zip pockets? I wear karrimor ones which have a pocket on the back big enough for my keys and not much else. I'm needing to carry a couple of gels on my longer runs ahead of a marathon and could do with proper pockets with a zip to ensure they don't fall out (happened on the London Marathon!). These seem to be about the limit of what I'd like to spend, anyone used them or got any other recommendations? https://tca.fit/products/mens-elite-tech-shorts-colour-asphalt?variant=32910255292459
  16. I've got a Garmin Forerunner 55 and it's fine - will give you the sort of info like in the Strava screenshot in the post before yours as well as a few other things like heart rate, recovery time (not that I bother with that) etc. That's all I need it for but it probably has other bells and whistles too - same with the Garmin vivoactive HR I had before that. If you're only after the essentials and not all the super statty stuff you'll be fine with that - you could probably save a bit of cash and order an older model and save a few quid as it'll do the same stuff.
  17. Aberdeen making two cup finals and finishing bottom in the same season? Sounds familiar. You’d have thought Taylor Swift had turned up with all the commotion when he took his seat in the main stand. He did at least stay to the end. Would have loved to have heard one of his henchmen trying to explain him what the Aberdeen fans were singing about Nick Walsh just before half-time.
  18. Leak found. I don’t know all the background but I get the feeling Jos wanting Horner to resign over this is a bit like Hamilton moaning about other cars being too dominant when it comes to the irony/hypocrisy levels.
  19. His poor players had to stand in the freezing cold for five minutes Although how it took that long to decide whether or not it was in the box is anyone's guess. An utterly glorious end to the game. Was convinced VAR was going to give the winner offside or find some minor foul, or that we'd then somehow contrive to ship an equaliser. Limbs and scenes at the end with Colin moaning at the ref. Hope he's finding it fun because I certainly am.
  20. Nothing wrong with Coco Pops but having them, or any other cereal, just before bed, should definitely get you on a list somewhere. However, I'm fairly sure after looking at the alleged stuff again that the Coco Pops one was from the woman, rather than him. Either way, if this had been football he'd surely have been greeted today with a chant of "I'd rather have a bowl of Coco Pops" from the crowd. Haha, do you think I've been sent the files? The only F1 media list I'm on is, ironically, the Red Bull one. Surprisingly the files weren't sent out on that.
  21. Fully expect the curse of the former player to come into effect tonight given Brophy is actually fit - unless Saturday was his one good game for a few months. Shame the game isn't in paisley or there'd be no danger of him scoring.
