  1. Boy's leg broken in 3 places. Newmains bench maintain it was a fair challenge.
  2. He was wound up and high as a kite against us. One of their players told me he is an embarrassment
  3. Carluke have had some number of red cards this season.
  4. Newmains 2 Lanark 5 Well deserved victory. 1 up in 7 mins and then hit the post. Newmains equalised with a good goal on 16 mins. Game then marred by a shocking 'tackle' which resulted in our left back Craig Stark being taken to hospital with a suspected fractured shin. Ref unbelievably showed a yellow card. Our penalty hoodoo continued with our 8th miss of the season before half time. Our ex keeper Martyn Meek played a blinder today. Newmains went 2-1 up on 65 mins against the run of played but this was pulled back 2 minutes later with a signature Cammy Lawson free kick. 3 further goals in quick succession put the game beyond doubt. Newmains no longer whipping boys and will take points against teams, particularly at home on that surface. Nice club. Like visiting. Excellent pie.
  5. I am delighted with Lanark's form. We've won our last 7 league games and deservedly beaten 3 teams from higher leagues in the Scottish and WoS. One or two games we have pushed our luck at points - we beat Johnstone 0-4 but they were very much in it for at least 75% of the game. We cannot afford to be complacent as we have lots of areas to tighten up on and improve but, we are creating lots of chances and are playing good stuff which makes us look forward more than usual to each fixture.
  6. We have still to play Muirkirk. Annbank tried to play some decent stuff when we played down there.
  7. Johnstone Burgh 0 Lanark 4Good win although this scoreline flattered us today. JB were well in the game for most of it and although we missed a few, we saved 3 off the line and our keeper had a couple of cracking saves.Lost the legend that is Shug to a red at 0-4 for retaliation after he had been wiped out, which is unfortunate. Thankfully he was not the only one to see red in the incident. JB had the least athletic looking keeper I have ever seen today. To be fair he was not at fault for anything and his distribution was good. Like the JB captain. Looks a good player.
  8. Indeed they did and had a couple of good chances that, if taken could have put us under pressure but even the non Lanark supporters that I spoke to stated that we were by far and away the better team, even if we weren't as sharp as we've been.
  9. Seriously? So you are saying that for 65 minutes Forth were the better team? Ryan had FIVE superb saves plus the penalty. It was a penalty all day long.
  10. Lanark 4 Forth 2Well deserved win takes us to the top of the table.3-0 at half time.Ex Lanark man Ryan Cherrie had 5 wonderful saves for Forth to keep the score line respectable plus saved a penalty to deprive Shug Kerr his 3rd consecutive league hat trickPitch was in excellent condition despite all the rain
  11. Suits us - someone has to drop points.
  12. Lanark 3 Ardeer 2 Well we got goals, the first coming inside the first minute but our clean sheet lasted only another 3 minutes before we threw away an equaliser. Shug Kerr converted a penalty on the stroke of half time after being fouled. He completed his hat trick around 70 minutes. He could easily have scored double that missing some excellent chances as did Chucky Watt. We could easily have scored double figures today. That said, we were penalised bizarrely for what the ref adjudged to be a pass back around the 6 yard book and they scored from the resultant stramash. The last few minutes were not particularly nervy as we were well on top. Ardeer definitely better than their league position suggests.
  13. I am hoping there will be a few goals today although I am also looking for a 4th consecutive clean sheet. Our pies are good. Carluke v Forth looks the more attractive fixture to be fair and their pies ain't bad either. It will be breezy and cold up there today. Ball will be more out of play than in.
  14. St Ants 0 Lanark 3 Ultimately a very well deserved victory after weathering some early pressure after the kick off. Hat trick for Shug Kerr, another penalty miss by Chalky Watt. Hit the woodwork twice and had a goal wrongly disallowed for offside. St Ant's keeper had some excellent saves. We are playing some nice stuff this season. Creating lots of chances and missing quite a few. 3 clean sheets in a row is a bonus! Pitch in great condition and the pie was excellent.
  15. Sent you a list of the majority. There may be one or two others that were not stripped last weekend who may be involved this weekend. I think Chucky Watt is about to start a suspension. Looking forward to our trip over.
  16. Always good to get 3 points in a local derby. We made hard work of our victory. Undoubtedly helped by our visitors ill discipline. Most of the Carluke team booked, first one after a few minutes play. Their management team were well pumped up from the outset which resulted in the manager being sent off midway through the first half. Two reds for 2nd yellows in quick succession around 75 mins. Carluke captain lost the plot after his sending off which I think resulted in him getting another due to his conduct. A 3rd red followed when a defender dived full length to push away a goal bound effort off the line. Chucky Watt scored the resultant penalty. A 3rd before the end by Shug Kerr made the scoreline more respectable than the first 75% of the game had been playing out. Good crowd yesterday.
  17. Challenging work commitments, according to Albion Rovers. Their loss is our gain.
  18. Delighted to learn that Gareth Hallford has re-signed for Lanark from Albion Rovers. Great signing by our management team/committee. We have also signed a left back - Craig Stark from the amateur ranks. Big strong lad and left footed, which helps!
  19. Carluke will be kicking themselves, based upon the highlights.
  20. No. I ignored the road closed at Glespin sign as I thought I had been told it didn't apply at the weekend plus my sat nav didn't show it!! I hate missing the first minute of a game, far less 25 and never leave before the end no matter how poorly we are playing
  21. Annbank 0 Lanark 5 Comprehensive win for Lanark today. Could have scored quite a few more, including 2 that seemed to be over the line but were not given. This said, our keeper made some good saves today to thwart our enthusiastic opponents. Missed the first 25 minutes and first 2 goals due to traffic issues and not being familiar with the venue. Liked the setting.
  22. Saltcoats 3 Lanark 6 Comfortable win, clouded somewhat by losing ,more cheap goals and missing another penalty. ( We did convert another later in the game) . Should have won by a much bigger margin. Missed a good few chances, had a stonewall Penalty not given ( one of THE worst decisions I have seen in many a long day) and a goal disallowed for offside which was dubious. Missing 3 of our better players today and our keeper was not fit but took the field. Referee Blair Comerford was woeful today. Booked umpteen players and there was not a bad tackle in the game. Both teams bemused by his performance. First time to Saltcoats. Excellent Killie pie.
  23. Excellent idea Are you not sponsored by funeral directors?! Dread to think what services you could advertise!
