  1. By my calculations Lanark have won 19 points from 24 in the 8 games that the new management team have been in charge, scoring 16 and conceding 8 goals in the process. Won 6, lost 1 and drawn 1 In the previous 5 games before they took over we won 2 points in 5 games, scoring 4 and losing 12 goals. We are on the right track , despite an horrendous injury list. Won 1-2 at Girvan today. Nothing between the 2 teams IMO. Other than the goals we crashed the bar with a thundering header and their keeper made an excellent stop from the rebound. Girvan had a first half chance that should have been tucked away. Chucky Watt did what Chucky Watt does. The pie was good and the sausage roll was excellent.
  2. Although in the cup, a significant away win for Lanark today at Bellshill. We were a completely different team when they beat us in Lanark in the summer. Long way to go.
  3. 2 signings in as many weeks from St Rochs for Lanark to strengthen our squad as we continue to suffer from an horrendous injury list.
  4. Lanark pumped 6-0. Absolutely nothing between the teams up to 30 mins, indeed we'd hit the post and their keeper had an excellent save. We were 3 down 7 minutes later and 4 down by ht. Game over. We weren't in it 2nd half. They scored a couple of very nice goals and were generally that bit sharper and tighter than us.
  5. Lanark 2 Pt Glw 0 10 out injured probably helps explain why we made such hard work of today. We didn't play well but did hit the bar, when we should have scored, and pulled 3 excellent saves from their keeper. I don't recall our keeper having a save to make. Took a late ( stonewall) penalty to seal the points following a 43rd minute opener. We are rising up the table but will need to take more of the chances we are creating. Only 2 teams have scored fewer goals than us in the division so far.
  6. Trust VoC number 9 got a yellow at the end?
  7. Great trip down to Kello and the steak pie is right up there as the best pie to have at the games. Big Kello keeper is a character. Cannot believe that ref, get the wee fella's chased..
  8. Threave 3 Lanark 2 We can have no complaints. We had our chances and didn't take them, particularly after such a bright start and going 1 up. Equaliser was a clear penalty for handball but cross should never have been allowed to get into the box. Threave keeper has a great save 20 seconds into the 2nd half but we go 2-1 down inside 50 seconds ( great strike). We lose a third from our poorly taken corner and then claw one back through Chucky Watt who was offside. We missed an excellent chance to equalise on 90 minutes but our cause wasn't helped by Scott Nicol getting himself sent off on 75 mins. Dafty of the day was the Threave number 9 for getting sent off seconds from the full time whistle. Threave very well organised and played out from the back throughout. Great set up, lovely people and I can confirm that the pre match pie AND sausage roll was £3.50 very well spent.
  9. Well, I got my wish of not wanting to play opposition or grounds we are familiar with. Cowdenbeath away. Excellent.
  10. Since new management arrived at Lanark we've had 3 wins and 1 draw in the league, beaten 3 teams from higher divisions in the cup, with 1 loss to Craigmark. Defence tightened up considerably and wee Chucky Watt back amongst the goals and getting fitter. Big improvement from first 5 games when we took 2 points and conceded 12 goals. Very much looking forward to a new experience at Threave on Saturday.
  11. Lanark got Belshill away. Hate being drawn against a team from the same division.
  12. Lanark 2 Neilston 1 Our 3rd victory against higher league opposition this season. Still struggling with above average number of injuries and so can't field anywhere near like a settled team.
  13. Another good result for Lanark against a higher division team, despite our horrendous injury list.
  14. 2 ex Lanark lads very prominent in this victory. Great to see them doing well. Both good lads.
  15. Finnart off? Thought they played on plastic?
  16. I learnt my lesson and got in early, upon arrival. I messaged my mates to get a shift on and they too missed out. Truly great pie and great value too
  17. Hate having to go to set ups like that to see my team. Pity they couldn't ground share with their neighbours
  18. That pitch will have been heavy in those conditions and difficult to play football on. That didn't look like the normal big keeper for Kello. Did you have one of their steak pies? Wonderful fare.
  19. Lanark 1 Finnart 1 Poor two points to drop today. Keeper error in first half saw us go 1 down very much against the run of play. Once again 2nd half substitutions made a difference although it was a CB who bundled our goal in. Finnart keeper had two excellent saves near the end to save the point for them.
  20. Daft sending off by the Ardeer lad which could have cost his team.
  21. Unlike last season with VoC and AWR, there is no stand out team in this division, despite Bellshill's very good start to the season. I see lots of team's taking points from each other therefore too early to predict who will go up, IMO. Lanark are quite literally a different team to the one that started the season so poorly, for example , and will have an influence on the promotion places.
  22. Only Kello have scored fewer goals than Lanark so far this season. 10 in 8 games. Missed 5 excellent chances today, 2 absolute sitters. Something we have to rectify if we are to continue to climb the table and challenge for promotion.
  23. We were surprised when the corner was given and I don't think we even appealed for it.
