Lanark 5 Irvine Vics 1 An excellent performance by us today, which could easily have resulted in 8 or 9 goals sees us move up the table to 4th. Played some really good stuff today. Just a pity we conceded a very sloppy goal near the end, caused by a woefully short back pass. Good to be able to give players a run out today in the 2nd half, with 3 more still to return from injury.

Finnart 2 Lanark 4 Huge difference from last week. 3 up inside 18 minutes. Finnart straight red before half time, which I personally thought was harsh but was assured it was studs up. 3 changes to Finnart line up at half time , including their keeper made a difference. Was not at all obvious that one team had a man less. A (dodgy) penalty got them back in it. Ball blasted directly at our player - and he gets a yellow! We missed at least 6 gilt edged chances, hitting the bar etc before getting a 4th. Finnart got a late consolation after our young keeper spilled a long range effort into the path of their oncoming striker. Starting to get guys back from injury. Brannan only got one more game to go before his suspension is up. Hard to see how Finnart are top of the league on today's performance.

Much as I talk up the pies elsewhere I have stopped buying them at Lanark as they are never served hot enough for my liking. It is a good pie though.

Fair. We were awful first half. 3 half time substitutions changed the dynamic considerably without creating lots of opportunities. When we eventually equalised I could only see one team winning but, a huge defensive blunder put paid to that. The 2nd yellow was always on the cards and made a painful defeat more costly than it needed to be.

Lanark been trimming their squad of late. Two recent signings from SBA and St Rochs who have barely featured have gone. Jordan McCrorie off to Royal Albert. Kieran Brannan has 3 more games to go of his suspension. Thinks he's only played one half for us since he returned several months ago. Hoping Aaron Bulloch and Scott Nicol will also be back soon from injury to bolster the quality of a squad that is performing well.

The Gow have lost 38 goals in 14 games and lost 7 today in the cup. I'm hoping their defence doesn't all of a sudden decide to tighten up next weekend.

Royal Albert 0 Lanark 2 Straightforward win but didn't capitalise upon RA playing 2nd half with 10 men after a stramash on way to the changing rooms at half time.

Kilsyth 1 Lanark 2 Deserved win but not a huge amount between the teams tbs. Won't be many teams win there this season. Kilsyth are a good team, try and play football. Big CB recently signed from Petershill impressed. Kilsyth went ahead through a penalty on 58 minutes. We made 2 substitutions before kicking off and then scored 2 goals on 60th and 62nd minute and had a 3rd harshly disallowed on 63 minutes. Our good run of form continues.

Any games on grass surviving the weather today?

So, would I be correct in presuming that there are no food facilities at Kilsyth? Need to leave earlier to suss out local options pre match

Hardly problems. My point is that , despite our poor start we are collecting points and now scoring goals and without a settled team yet due to so many injuries.

Lanark continue to progress since new management team started. 22 points in 9 games, scoring 18 and conceding 8 in that time. Only Kello have scored fewer goals than us so far but, we only scored 4 in our first 5 matches. However, we've conceded only 20 in total. Beat Dalry 2-0 without both our first choice CB's yesterday. We should have won by more. Both keepers had some excellent saves. Dalry had a man and a manager sent off near the end. Their big number 5 needs to keep working at the acting classes, cause they are not working!

Any idea how the games postponed in this competition yesterday get rescheduled? For example will they be slotted in next week, given we already have fixtures through to the end of February?

We've only had 2 home games in the past 3 months, and one of those was in the cup. Not at all good for the finances.

Shock of the day has to be top of the table Bellshill drawing at bottom of the table Kello who won only their 6th point of the season. Vale of Leven and Threave in good form. Only Kello have scored fewer goals than Lanark Lots of twists and turns in the coming months

It would be good to know what games are on to give us a Plan B, albeit with late notice

VoC v Forth is off. RA v Lanark is currently on but final decision awaited

Just like we'd prefer a few more in the goals for column. Never happy.
