  1. Lanark 2 Kello 0 Played in farcical conditions with a cross field howling gale. Pitch was in remarkably good nick. Sorry not to see the big Kello keeper in action today.
  2. Big Liam is no Franz Beckenbauer but very effective.
  3. 43 points from a possible 51 since new management team arrived. Pleasantly surprised to note that we have the best defensive record in the division, having conceded 12 goals in our first 5 games, then 18 in our next 17 games. A record to be protecting as we reach the business end of the season.
  4. Lanark v Kello is ON! Amazing after all the rain we have had
  5. Re-signing Shug Kerr has clearly had an immediate impact.
  6. Did you have one of their pies or sausage rolls? Both excellent. Great set up, as you say. Threave are the team who impressed me most this season. Only got one game to go on. Well set up and like to try and play football.
  7. Lanark 2 Glasgow Utd 0 Straightforward win for Lanark. Scrappy first half but went in 1 up , scoring on 43 mins. Nice turn and shot from outside the box by Gracie sealed the points. Visitors have deteriorated considerably since they turned us over at their place last August. Only 2 players, plus one who was injured today, remain from our team that evening. Results today takes us to the top of the league for the first time in a few seasons
  8. Still one of the promotion favourites so something is working.
  9. Lanark sign Keegan Lang from RA. Not a player that I know.
  10. Great result for The Gow away at Glw Utd. They are definitely right back in the promotion hunt now with games in hand. Threave have made life much harder for themselves losing at home to Pt Glasgow. Always prefer points on the board than games in hand at this stage of the season but I am sure The Gow will fancy themselves to overhaul the teams that have played 4 and 5 games more than them, at least.
  11. No game for Lanark tomorrow so intend going to Kirkconnel for the Kello v Finnart game. There are closer fixtures but, I always enjoy my visits down there and the pies are excellent. Got Kello in a couple of weeks so can call it a scouting mission. I'll be rooting for the home team.
  12. Greenock 2 Lanark 4 Surprised at how good the pitch was considering all the rain this week. We were 1 down after 5 minutes and did nothing for the first 25 of this game. A stonewall penalty secured an equaliser and a nice move saw us score a send right on half time. Greenock missed two excellent chances t get back in the game before 2 goals in 3 minutes put us 1-4 up. We missed a number of chances but disappointingly lost a cheap late goal and a 2nd yellow to deplete our squad further. A rest week next week will hopefully help us recover from the flu and injuries that restricted our squad today. Other results went for us, I'm pleased to see.
  13. With between 7 and 12 games to play I'd say the 3 promotion spots are between Lanark, Threave, Bellshill and VoL, based on current form. Lanark have all 3 still to play, which could make or break us.
  14. Straightforward 3-1 win for Lanark against West Park. Should have scored a lot more and disappointing to lose yet another sloppy goal but the 3 points is the main thing, particularly when others around us are dropping points.
  15. There are no cracks. Him and Con are wanting a regular start it would seem, which on current form is not possible unfortunately. Very sad that he has taken this decision.
  16. Chucky Watt has asked for a transfer, which is a great pity, particularly at this stage of the season. In my Top3 of all time favourite Lanark players. Con Boyle also on the list. Neither getting many starts so presume their desire to play more minutes has trumped playing their ongoing part in potential promotion, possibly as League winners.
  17. A fairly comfortable win for Lanark today although Pt Glow missed a couple of good chances. We were 3 up and coasting when we made 5 substitutions on 65 mins. The tempo changed dramatically. We conceded a late consolation but not before we missed a glaring chance to go 4 up. Both keepers had excellent saves. A late and mysterious red for a Pt Glw sub who came on around 90 mins and lasted 2 mins. Not sure if he said something to the ref. Our impressive run of form continues. Game at a time as they say.
  18. I was impressed by Kilsyth. I thought you might drop points there. They try and play football but not got much up front.
  19. Lanark 1 SBA 2 We competed well against the team 2 divisions above us. Both their goals came from individual mistakes in horrible conditions. Good news is Ciaran Brannan made his comeback, playing his first game in months and was still full of running to the end, despite underfoot conditions.
  20. Since we changed management we have won 10, lost 2 and drawn 1, the best run of form of any team during that period. We are obviously hoping this sequence of results continues and, if so, should see us promoted. Long way to go however.
