  1. Peter Grant and Donald Findlay a match made in heaven. Yi heard it here first
  2. Won’t be Brora going by the two cup games against Albion Rovers. No where near as good as they make themselves out ti be.
  3. Good report Connor. I would stick a copy of this in the Pie and Bovril Domestic cup section .
  4. Big Parry released a few weeks ago and you’re getting an emergency keeper on loan . Holy shit lads. That’s nothing against Keiran btw he was on loan at Rovers in 2017- a goid lad and fine young keeper.
  5. Derek Gaston Alan Trouten Scott Chaplain (could still do a job for us even though he retired in 2015)
  6. I’m not expecting a big crowd today. Rovers need a gritty 1-0 performance today. I have a feeling Elgin will go up the road with the points though.
  7. Mid table/ lower half clash whatever you want to call it. Stranraer have stabilised a wee bit after a bad start. Rovers’ performances overall so far have been ok but I still think we’re a couple of players away from putting in a consistent run of form. My gut tells me the Blues will win. Byraway lads 15 quid admission is taking liberties with a L2 match.
  8. Big Matty surely worth a goal or two against his old team.
  9. What’s happened to EF this year. Quite surprising you’re shipping as many goals. One thing about DY (not the most charismatic of managers) when he was at Rovers he did make us a hard team to beat. When our money ran out he was like a ferret going down a rabbit hole.
  10. We’re a dab hand at avoiding promotion ourselves truth be told. In fairness Brora will be favourites for this game and would be no shock to see us exit the cup early. Seen it all before- Inverness Caledonian, Whitehill Welfare, Deveronvale, Sunnybank and of course Buckie last season.
  11. Gives us plenty of time to read up on how to “avoid” promotion HIGHLAND champions Brora Rangers last night insisted they will try to get through the SPFL Pyramid Play-Off at the end of the season – despite having no desire to play senior football next term. Brora president John Young claims they have done all they can to AVOID having to compete in the
play-offs but have been told they must take on Lowland League winners
Edinburgh City in the first shoot-out.
  12. No great surprise with the result probably my only complaint was the soft nature of the goals we surrendered . First goal had more than a hint of offside not that it made any difference to the result. Good to see a good number of travelling support (although the high pitched voices of the Kelty ultras a bit grating). I know the talk is about Kelty’s playing budget but yesterday I thought their fans are a welcome addition to the league. What a great pity and shame that this is overshadowed by a racist who came to support Rovers. Many of us remember the abuse directed at Vic Kasule during the 80’s when he ploughed the lone furrow for black players in Scotland and monkey chants and racist abuse was “accepted “, we as Rovers supporters couldn’t really do anything in terms of reporting it to police/stewards/club officials. I’m hoping the club take swift action.
  13. The day you bother about players comments in the Daily Record is the day to chuck it. Kelty’s playing budget must dwarf Rovers’ by the length of Sauchiehall street. Anyway sounds like a good number coming through.
  14. I have heard Rovers fans saying this is a free hit for us but the term “write off” comes to mind Anyway welcome to the Coatbridge San Siro lads for a unique footballing experience . What’s the average numbers for your travelling support these days?
  15. Probably best for both parties. He did the team a turn at the end of last season but didn’t get a proper pre-season under his belt so I would say it has run it’s course. Good luck to him.
  16. Poor way to treat a great servant to Alloa. Great keeper, terrible football decision. I was going to say that’s football but that’s what happens when you have the thickest guy in Scottish football managing your club.
  17. I would love to say Rovers deserved something from the game actually it was a pretty good performance particularly in the first half. But our strikers were woeful Declan Byrne in particular left his predators in the house. I’m not sure how we didn’t score in the lead up to the penalty. Fair play to Annan took their chance and grew a bit more into the game in the second half.
  18. Interesting one. Annan have had a couple of superb results against teams who fancy themselves for promotion. Rovers came back down to earth with a bump against Elgin. Let’s see what kind of character is in this Rovers team. Both teams along with Cowden tipped to end up club 42 . I honestly think it’s going to be very tight this year between playoff spots and bottom.
  19. Well done Elgin. Back to the drawing board for us. Let’s see the character of this Rovers team next week.
  20. Rovers looking to extend their unbeaten run while the home side looking for their first win. I don’t think it will be a repeat of the last game which ended 5-2 with a couple of freebies chucked in from the Elgin keeper. Elgin always a dangerous side especially at home. Either way it’s early days yet for the league table settle barring Kelty who should on paper win it at a canter.
  21. A fair result in the end. Not a lot of quality on display in fact all the quality was confined to the four goals in what was an entertaining enough game. Stenny will be kicking themselves as they were definitely on the ascendancy when they scored the second. Swifty in his post match comments said they should be coming to places like Cliftonhill and taking the three points- the probably should given the budget they have. The days of an easy 3 points at Coatbridge are gone. Absolutely magic finish from Div Wilson -I hope Graeme Smith who was arguing with Rovers officials during the 2nd half enjoyed it- an absolute top drawer walloper of a boy GIRUY. Ref was of the most infuriating sort- blew his whistle before the softest of fouls and then miss the most blatant of fouls. Another toughy next week.
  22. I think Stenny have made the most new signings for any of the clubs in L2 so I’m hoping they still take time to gel but they should be there or there abouts come the end of the season. Swifty has progressed each club he has managed at. Rovers on the face of it have a really good blend of the youth and experience - Brian Reid has made some really good signings. What impresses me about them is the communication all over the pitch is excellent - the older pros are always talking the youngsters through the game. The only thing is it’s a small squad and the budget dictates that but I think there will be room for loan deals as and when needed. If we can keep a clean sheet again then that’s all good but I think this will end 1-1.
  23. What’s the beef with Neil Parry? Does Ferguson not fancy him.
  24. Interesting as in the game should be replayed? Would be interesting how Edinburgh felt if they were 2-0 up.
