  1. For the record, what was the QOS support?
  2. A game of two halves indeed. Under the cosh in the first half, as others have said, we seemed exposed on the left. May have got lucky with the offside goal, given the guy who crossed it was yards from our line I’m surprised if the Hamilton forward was ahead of the ball. But linesman was in line….. Second half we were a different team (or maybe Accies were…). Some of the stuff we played was surprisingly good, if the final ball could just have been better - too many crosses over hit or shots too close to keeper. With this new impregnable defence, we should just about make it…..
  3. So, from someone who was there, were we suddenly ‘Galacticos’ or did Cove have a bad day at the office? Or something in between? Where’s Jack playing? Is he centre-forward as implied by BBC?
  4. Er, one ‘fan’ said Albion time-wasted. Various other QOS fans including me said no they didn’t….
  5. I was there yesterday, a draw was fair. Wind spoiled it a bit, lots of passes drifting out of play or going nowhere in particular ( yes, I know, that’s our normal game in good conditions…..). Stirling edged it first half, thought the goal was a bit scrappy, was it a misplaced shot from the edge of the box or a good pass? After nearly scoring in the first minute of the second half, Stirling sat back (or were pushed back?) and it was all Queens. We seemed be getting corner after corner without getting close, until the one that finally went in. If you keep sticking the ball in the danger area, sooner or late it goes in. Is the theory. With 15 left, I thought both teams went for it (no time wasting from Stirling), it was actually exciting. As Queens fans we were waiting on the inevitable sucker punch (story of our season), there chances at both ends but no more goals. To our fans not there, that’s a game we would have lost a few weeks ago. Thought Reilly put in a good shift.
  6. I heard yesterday was our ‘youngest ever’ team, oldest was 23. Just curious, is that a fact or just speculation? Not sure where I would begin to check, it’s not stats that are immediately available.
  7. The game was one of these games. Thought it was going to be a 0-0, and then it wasn’t. Not sure about the time-wasting, I thought we were as likely to sneak a winner than Falkirk. We slowed it down sometimes, but I wasn’t aware of any outrageous time-wasting. Anyway, what was with the non-occupation of the top three rows? (Only in the Queens end, nowhere else in the ground). The poor steward couldn’t explain why, he just said that was his orders. It caused mayhem, as the affected fans were utterly bamboozled as to why. The first lot shifted reluctantly, then fans arriving later filled up the same space, then there was another carry-on as the next lot kept asking why? Bizarre doesn’t begin to describe it. Anyone have any idea of the rationale behind this? (other than that, seriously impressive attendance yesterday. I have mates who are Falkirk fans and it is a venue I enjoy. I feel this is their time…)
  8. Yes, link to highlights would be good?
  9. Well done Annan, sincere best wishes from QOS fan. Looking forward to derbies and seeing so many ex-Queens players. Some of which are bound to score against us!
  10. We beat Montrose 5-0 a few years ago, having lost the first leg 2-1. Think it was 5-0 at HT.
  11. Our quarterly points were - 10 13 12 19 We only had 5 points after 6 games and there were some looking at the other end of the table. I felt we were stronger once MB took over, it just took a while to show (0-3 v Kelty still haunts me). I am feeling optimistic about next season, I expect MB to strengthen the team. What could possibly go wrong? We’ll have either Falkirk or Hamilton in the division (or both!) who you would think will be our main rivals. We’ll see……
  12. Queens fan here. Just to say I spent the first half mixed up with City fans and enjoyed the banter. It’s good when you can sit side by side and enjoy the shared moans…. It was interesting hearing a bit about what else is going on behind the scenes, good luck with all that and I hope it works out. Eventually. And I apologise to the City guys for telling them that we were generally poor in the second half, despite our FT status. Just as well I changed ends.
  13. I’ve just emailed club, suspect it is a ‘glitch’ rather than a sell- out……
  14. Just watched the goals. Not sure what Hendrie was trying to do but clearly went horribly wrong. Although we gave the ball away prior to the cross. Cracker from McKechnie, but the Airdrie defender who let it happen is hugely culpable. It’s the sort of non-defending we’ve being doing for years….. Perplexed by comments re Paton, he busts a gut every game and never stops trying. Not convinced lone striker is his best position but he gives it his all anyway. Happy with the performance and the points. Very nervy last 20 minutes, but that’s what it is to be a Queens fan.
  15. All quiet about this game. I was at the 3-3 game. If both teams decide to play without defences again it could be an entertaining afternoon. It would be nice to see an actual Queens goal ( or two)
  16. I can think of one exception, that guy up front, S Dobbie was it?
  17. A clean sheet for Cowie, how did he do?
  18. Good video, loved the guy’s enthusiasm. Need to sort our pies out!
  19. Better all round today. Had our three best midfielders playing, Wilson was immense today and Todd put in a great shift. Mcgrory quietly effective. Big shout out to Ewan East, just steadied the defence, made critical interventions, and brought the ball forward effectively. After last week’s debacle , I think he was the big difference. Paton/Reilly good, but what a couple of cracking crosses from Lewis (3 if you count 2nd goal). The ability to look up and float a killer cross in is a great tactic ( why didn’t we think of that before?!). Still had our moments in defence, Montrose had opportunities but fortunately for us didn’t take them. Slightly flat ending after sending off, but let’s not be greedy - 4-0!
  20. Curious game. Dominated first half and had the luxury of a missed penalty ( has the ball landed yet?) Goal just before HT, great shot/cross but looked as though keeper at fault? Great header from Paton for second, but we had a wobbly 15 minutes when Edinburgh had a few chances. Was a misplaced pass out of defence gave us our third (that’s usually our speciality), but we’ll taken. Wilson makes such a difference in midfield, just steadies the ship. For those not there, we’re still not Real Madrid, bit scrappy sometimes, but after last week’s debacle, much better
  21. Where do you start? I was interested to see Bange starting, fans have been shouting for that for weeks, but the optimism lasted 5 minutes. The ball was played to him in a good position, he dithered about until all the Queens players were out of position but then passed straight to a Falkirk player. Clinical finish after that but terrible pass. That gave Falkirk a bit of confidence and the rest of the half was just awful. That’s the worst game I’ve seen Gibson have for us (ever?), and it his error led to the second ( thought our keeper could have come out for it?). Though Currie made a few decent saves. I thought Cochrane was our best midfielder (it was a low bar), and Paton made a difference. Connor Murray looked lively, and took his goal well. Can’t bear to watch the highlights, watching once was enough.
  22. OK, if we’re having a vote on the important topic of best routes to Dumfries, I’ve always liked the Dalveen Pass, the scenery is breathtaking. Less popular with some of my passengers…. And I’ve done the Moffat road a zillion times, I like it. I once picked up a Canadian cousin at Edinburgh and took her down for her first ever visit to Dumfries. Went the Moffat road for the scenery, my cousin spent the journey with her head down, couldn’t cope with the windy roads or ups and downs.
