  1. I was referring to the BBC Scotland guys rather than the media at every game. I actually replied to the suggestion of a studio. BBC games on a Friday night must be close to costing us money with the drop off in attendance (dependent on the away team).
  2. Given the pittance they pay us to broadcast the games, they can get what they're given. That would have been the first thing I cut out the new stand when costs escalated.
  3. So true, a colleague of mine moved out there lock stock and barrel and was back within 6 months. NB - I'm referring to Dubai btw.
  4. A defence of Reading McGinty McAllister Hewitt is the stuff of nightmares. Let's hope Musonda can play and we sign at least one fullback.
  5. I'd rather play Watret at right back rather than Hewitt. Where is Musonda? It's been like radio silence.
  6. It's not ton trooper is it? No doubt he'll be along shortly to spam the thread.
  7. I think Logan Chalmers is great but to get in the team he needs to displace Amartey or Murphy. That's no mean feat at the moment. I also think we need to upgrade the fullbacks unless we're going balls oot if you score 4 we'll score 5. It does amaze me that he can't get a game for Dundee United at this level. I used to think Goodwin was a good manager but Aberdeen has utterly ruined him.
  8. Not to piss on your chips but I expect it is nonsense. There are other areas of the squad in need of strengthening. Chalmers would be another player in positions we are already well stocked. Unless there are a couple to go out (ie. Ashford and McKenzie), I just can't see it.
  9. Optimism level up unlocked for this season... Pessimistic > Cautiously Optimistic > Optimistic
  10. The only disappointment today was the attendance. 1,498! Given it was £12 and a combined event with the rugby team, I was expecting better than that.
  11. Wrt. Logan Chalmers. I'd rather get in two new full backs tbh. I'm not convinced we need Chalmers, unless a wide player is going out we are stacked with options out wide.
  12. Just got home. I throughly enjoyed that game, probably the most I've enjoyed a home game in about a year. I got the liquid football, its very pleasing to actually try and play the ball on the grass. The pitch was lush. Everyone did their bit and as complete a performance as I've seen in a long while. It sets us up nicely for the league season kicking off. Our first three fixtures are toughies but will be a good barometer of where we are as a squad. I'd like a couple more signings for sure. I now just need to work out how to renew my season ticket. The email link doesn't seem to be working and I don't want to buy a fresh one. I'd quite like my current card to keep working.
  13. I think Bullen has been good but the style of football was turgid for long periods of games or even the whole match. I am heartened that Bullen seems to realise that and at Stirling we tried to play out from the back. Hopefully with the lush playing surface I'll get some liquid football tomorrow!
  14. If this isn't a Friyay then you can expect the dinner chat tonight. I embrace it.
  15. Pretty impressed that he's got Annan into League One tbh. I always liked his nonchalance as a player. Even though my heart was in my mouth when he dribbled past opposition forwards. He was aslo good at the dark arts as well - getting McAllister sent off and Jo Cardle as well. You need that in a team.
  16. Ahhh, the wee barrel Cairney. We'll always have the forearm smash at St Mirren. What a fucking mare that game was!
  17. I think Doolan was the season before. Uncle Ian signed Doolan whereas it was Hopkin that signed Adeloye.
  18. His wrestling moves in the games against Killie at Somerset were not welcome. He simply wasn't a footballer.
  19. Even likening Adeloye to Chalmers and Fjortoft is fucking wild. Anyone viewing it objectively can recognise that Adeloye was the pick of that team. Some of the other players are still here and they didn't contribute anywhere near to the same degree as Adeloye. Adeloye was a good player in a terrible team. Only a handful of Ayr players have ever scored more than him at this level. It's not really difficult to understand why some think there is an unconscious bias edge to this. Objectively, Tomi was anything but pish.
