  1. That's not correct, players u23 are still entitled to sign pre-contracts, just that if they are also offered a deal by their current club then the current club can claim their usual development compensation.
  2. I assume by he thinks similar is equivalent to 3.5x which is bizarre. And if we are comparing to the Netherlands, then a payment from european prize money will need to be introduced too. If those clubs(especially the big 2) playing in Europe want plastic pitches gone badly enough that they'll pay out then we can have a discussion. If not STFU.
  3. It was, I think TBF you did sell your north east allocation but not by enough to justify giving you the main stand east wing which is available for away supports. East stand wasn't available due to being the away team changing area.
  4. We are significantly better with them in the team. That just shows how bad we are without them. I thought our general play was also ok until our weak mindset was exposed and we gave up at 2-0, again that shows how much higher rovers standards are than ours when you have it towards the lower end of performances and it’s towards the higher end of what we are capable of.
  5. Thought so too, I think that’s due to their position, they’re expected to beat us, as shite as is to say that
  6. Someone is taking a few random newspaper quotes too seriously.
  7. Clubs not involved with the reserve league don't get to moan about the reserve league not offering enough. They could maybe, MAYBE have an argument if they were involved in the reserve league and were joining LL to get more games, they don't have any excuse to not play reserve and choose to devalue proper football instead.
  8. The categorised way they’ve put this as the 3rd biggest is by only counting derbies that can take place in the league this season.
  9. I’m very reluctant to say anything on grief, it’s incredibly specific on every occasion, to say what’s right or wrong for any occasion can’t be said. But it sounds like you don’t like your reaction and aren’t benefiting from it, you probably need space to let something else in and process things. Prof is right, you’re a cog in a machine and if seniors think they can get more they’ll push hard for it and ignore the consequences of that. The more they can get you to take the harder they’ll push. You need to put your foot down at some point and it sounds like you’re beginning to find where you can do that, find more places where you can delegate or just outright refuse to do work and you’ll find a weight lifted.
  10. Of course it fucking has, there's proper matches to be played, nobody is bothered by this.
  11. Whilst true, these are jumps are nearly always driven by 1 or 2 clubs who push on relentlessly with pricing and the rest tend to quietly sneak their prices up over the next few seasons. Those pushing the price rises deserve alot of stick.
  12. Nah that’s bollocks. There’s been a good mutual respect between him and the club/fans after he’s left, he was announced as being subbed and started to do the standard slowish walk you expect from a player 2-0 up before a quite audible boo came from the NW and I’m twice the distance as he’d have been from it, he’s quite entitled when walking off the winning player to hush that, I doubt he has any hard feelings
  13. You do, but part of the motivator to use privately owned vehicles for any particular journey is that the majority of costs are spent the moment you decide to have the vehicle in the first place
  14. In good news, we’ve played worse. Hope Kane was just fatigued from recovering from illness he doesn’t play the majority of the run in we may struggle. If he does I think we’re showing enough that we should get enough points on the board but it will be far from comfortable. not sure what to make of mcpakes actions, you can see why he felt the need to rotate summers and Moffat even though Moffat is the preferred option and by the time the subs came on it was take a gamble time so I’m not too upset the gamble failed even though it maybe wouldn’t have been the one I’d have made. One thing he does need to change is to make long throws the option to go too if we aren’t creating from short ones, not have them the default to be comfortably dealt with and have us immediately lose all attacking momentum
  15. My initial thought was yellow, I don’t even know if the ref was going to give that, he wasn’t even getting involved until the coming together happened, whilst the call may have been incorrect it’s just fundamentally poor refereeing to not take control of the situation early after a controversial tackle. He’s completely lost control since. We’re slightly struggling, I don’t know what we can do to change it tho, hopefully mcpake does.
  16. Don’t see the problem with it, if you’re the worst side in the region what’s wrong with dropping down? indeed it would probably have been preferable to a club like duns who were going well off the pitch but struggled with player recruitment and had to go play bottom division ams straight from EoS. Not going to happen quickly(there’s a lot of hurdles not least our ridiculous player registration) but a nothing wrong with a smooth transition from top to bottom depending on pitch results and suitable off field structures appropriate for each level.
  17. His 10 months is to run alongside his current sentence, so basically no punishment apart from he probably won’t get anymore home visits or spend time at castle huntly
  18. So his scan is today so I guess there’s a slim chance of him making the bench tomorrow
  19. Don’t think they were the same games . I think the airdrie game with the replacement Lino was actually when we brought the fairly young bloke who may or may not have been in the pub pre-game who had a few junior games under his belt and therefore was given full Lino duties. The old bloke a year or two earlier was an ammy ref and wasn’t even allowed to signal who’s throw it was, just that the ball was out of play like you’d give to a club official at kids level. probably a decade since then and after having a couple of incidents of ref injuries in quick succession we haven’t had any since He is apparently fit and ready but they were waiting on scan results last week to see if he can get involved with contact stuff, no idea of those results but he’s not been mentioned in the most recent injury updates which suggests they weren’t perfect and he needs to wait, either that or he’s good to go and we’re keeping it quiet before bringing him out unexpectedly to score one and set up two
  20. Probably the most confident since the league cup game I am going into this, however I’ll hold back slightly on commenting on the on the pitch stuff until after Tuesday. Off the pitch, and I’m aware this will fall on deaf ears but PLEASE PLEASE don’t be c***s, turn up, have a pint or two if you choose, watch the game sing a few songs that don’t exactly need to be perfect for pre-watershed tv but don’t cross any particularly horrible lines and go home. It’s not difficult
  21. Someone might be able to come up with a good recommendation but I generally don't think breakfast is a thing for italy They live off of caffeine until about 3pm
  22. I'm dependent on 'they always find a way to embarrass themselves' which has worked well so far.
  23. It won’t happen Tuesday but if nobody drops out as some return there’s a strong possibility of a fit first team player not being in the match squad mental given where we were a month ago that was one of the years either after Gretna went bust or livi got demoted to the third division when airdrie got a last minute call to be in division one having been the beaten play-off finalists. That left them scrambling for players and this boy hit one of the sweatest struck volleys I’ve seen, don’t think he got a deal.
  24. Probably not DOGSO as Kane first touch would have been away from goal if he got there but even so it couldn’t be punished with a red. There is a bit of a gap in the laws, they’ve tightened up playing the ball a 2nd time from a restart but not from the ball being in hand. If the goalkeeper handles the ball inside their penalty area when not permitted to do so, an indirect free kick is awarded but there is no disciplinary sanction. However, if the offence is playing the ball a second time (with or without the hand/arm) after a restart before it touches another player, the goalkeeper must be sanctioned if the offence stops a promising attack or denies an opponent or the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity
  25. We are so much better with kane and todd on the pitch. Todd's looking pretty fit now, he could have probably done the 90 yesterday, He'll be fine for a start, Kane will be more difficult, he only trained friday and had to push himself to get to 80 minutes, I think we'll get a start out of him but he may only get a half depending on how he recovers. Look to protect mccann and have him available from the bench, he's had a couple of hamstring injurys and it was tightness that forced him off vs calley, no point asking him to start twice in a week.
