Into Premiership with Airdrie after consecutive promotions, amazingly without plug-and-play tactics for a change. Playing a 4-1-2-3, first season Ally Roy scored 23 to take us up, and second season signed Anton Dowds and he's banged in another 23 in the Championship to take us up. Put Thomas Robert on a 3 year deal and sold him to Hibs for a club record £120k at end of season one, loaned back for 0% wages second season although he was hopeless in the Championship. Charlie Telfer got 17 assists from centre mid in the Championship also. Now the hard yards in getting ready for the Prem. My scouting is a shambles and can't afford the packages for more expansive recruitment, relying on myself going into teams to find pre-contracts, whether it be south of the border or in other countries. Wish me luck.

Doesn't sound like much but got my Ajax team to the Champions League final in 2024. Ended up getting rid of the big young players in the second season and rebuilding with newgens - mostly South American. Don't think I've ever won the Champions League in any Football Manager game. Very excited. EDIT: Didn't happen. Beaten 2-1 with an equaliser in injury time chopped off. Heartbroken.

Shelved my Fiorentina save and started a new one at Mallorca. They've been languishing in the Segunda for too long so hopefully I can restore them to the Premiera.

I guess there has been a fairly sizeable update to the match engine since I last started FM about five weeks ago... everything about my tactic that made it good (speed, tempo, pacy wing backs) have all gone, the play is now so slow and lethargic.

Airdrie are a pretty big club though so I'm sure there was lots of interest.

Fired up the game for the first time in a while. Here's an update on life in Florence... This is my record since taking the reigns, had some absolutely sensational results but a few disheartening ones along the way too. Keeping the back door shut has been an impermeable task as I'm trying to blood a young Italian centre half to take over from Astori. With six games to go we are by no means out of the European picture, which would be a great feat considering we were fourteenth when I took over. We've got such a bloated and average squad with a terribly high average age. Valero, Sahin, Honda, Carrillo, Belhanda will hopefully all be away at the end of the season to get them off the wage budget. I've signed Jovetic and Santon to as we're short in attack and in the full back positions. I don't want to add too many faces but we'll see how the squad building goes. Abdou Diakhate has been a revelation since I came in and the addition of Lucas Romero in the midfield during the January window has proved to be thoroughly astute. Could do with a few more goals from the centre mids but I'm quite happy with where we are at the minute.

Iconic probably the better of the two. Also picked up the last of the Nollaig which I thought was bold at 7%, then went for a Double Joker and nearly lost my head.

After a shambles of a run with Brentford I cut my losses and headed to Italy to take over Fiorentina. They were sitting 16th and after two games under my (and Ian Cathro's) control we're now up to 11th. Its good to get a win again.

Admittedly had a rage quit last night, 3-0 up to Watford after 20 mins, a penalty and two late goalkeeping errors later it was 3-3 after 89.

Picked the game up after a few weeks of not playing and an update, and my Brentford save has gone to shit. Having been on a five match winning run, played three lost three without scoring and went from 3rd to 7th. Did a bit of reading on the SI forums and it appears the match engine has been changed a fair bit to facilitate inverted wing backs - aye very good, but what if I only want to play a normal wing back? Another thing to add to the FM annoyances pile - sweeping changes to the match engine rendering tactics unusable.

Getting to the front of the queue for the coup after waiting for 20 minutes for them then to close for the day.
