They've left out some of the wierdness

Crypto group Copper served sushi off partially clad models
Digital assets company chaired by Philip Hammond held London party after industry conference

The cryptocurrency company chaired by former UK chancellor Lord Philip Hammond hosted a party where guests were served sushi off two scantily clad models, raising new questions about the culture of the industry.

Copper, which stores digital assets for customers, held the private party last week at the five-star Mandrake hotel in London after a large crypto industry conference.

Glasgow has loads of great pubs, but only one of them is close to the city centre: The Laurieston. The Doublet is nowhere near the city centre. 😅

  3. It may yet inspire poetry as timeless as this

So the train mov’d slowly along the Bridge of Tay,
    Until it was about midway,
Then the central girders with a crash gave way,
And down went the train and passengers into the Tay!
The Storm Fiend did loudly bray,
Because ninety lives had been taken away,
On the last Sabbath day of 1879,
Which will be remember’d for a very long time.”

Someone needs to start a favourite Russians thread so I can add Catherine the Horse-Shagger to complete the set.

You could have her on your list of Germans

Hate to play devils advocate, but is this not common practice at most neutral venues, including hampden.

Apparently not according to the club statement

which probably explains why they didn’t bring a big enough sticker to do the job properly

Kitting out the dressing rooms properly for both the visiting teams would be a nice touch but what actually happened is just small time vandalism

Whatever's going on at Hibs, I think we can just be grateful that we're in good nick and well-positioned for the medium term without having to rely on deals we don't really understand with foriegn investors with unclear motivations.

This summer is going to be a good chance for Hearts to build on the good work of the last few years. Even if Aberdeen were to win the cup and take the guaranteed group stage football, Hearts are in good shape in pretty much every way imaginable just now. Apart from needing another centre half.

talking about “locking” in the group stage money “every season” is a bit reckless. Things can go wrong and they occasionally will

Even if  the people running Hearts get everything right, bad luck with injuries, A cup upset or just someone else having a really, really good season will derail things

I remember about a decade ago someone on the Celtic Board talking about how they budgeted for getting into the champions league group stages every other season

That’s probably how we should be looking at this

The Gordon family were owed a 7 figure sum (stadium upgrades, the money spent on hospitality etc) and that has been wiped out and converted to equity in this move.

This doesnt give them more value, as their percentage ownership in the club has concurrently been diluted by the new shares.

The entirety of that £6m is available to the club now, and not one cent of that goes to "line the owners pockets".

Thanks for the financial lesson though.........................

So there’s new equity created for the Gordons to clear that debt and also new equity created for the new investors. Have I got that right?

£6million. Some of it will line the owners pockets, some of it apparently on infrastructure.

i think hibs fan in general do not understand the current financial gaps between hearts and hibs.

They will need a lot more than a one of £6m which will be less than we take from Europe next season.

They’d need upwards of £4m a season just to equalise hearts, and that’s hearts pre profit from hotel, sponsorship deal, and the releasing of benefactor funds for football only.

I thought the £6m was what they were paying the Gordon’s for 25% of the business as opposed to buying freshly created shares

There’s a vagueness in the statement

I should probably have been following this more closely

I did debate where to drop my nugget and, maybe mistakenly, thought this thread the most appropriate (least inappropriate?) place for it. Sorry if I've sullied the cricket chat..

There isn't even a cricket club in Kilbirnie.

There was one in Kilbirnie NZ but the merged with St Patricks to form "Eastern Suburbs" which is possibly the least inspiring team name imaginable

It makes "Aberdeen Football Club" seem whimsically romantic

Means Scotland finish fourth.  With arguably the second strongest team in the tournament.

If it weren’t for our hard luck with refereeing at the end of our respective games against France Scotland and Italy would be 2nd and 3rd

It’s been one of the most balanced and interesting tournaments in years

    except for viewers in Wales
