  1. Biden beating Trump would be replacing like for like. So it's down to the highly intelligent American electorate to choose which Clown has the bigger red nose.
  2. Agree. A wee btw on DeChambeau for you. My wife is a Masters tournament patron and she receives two badges every year which we pay for and we visit every two years. Last summer we drove over the Bealach na Ba to visit one of our favourite restaurants The Applecross Inn which to some is pretty remote, as I got out of the car an American standing by the next car spotted I was wearing a Masters shirt and asked if I had been at the Masters, when I said yes he said that he had been also as a guest of Bryson DeChambeau, apparently DeChambeau's father had been on Dialysis for years and this guy who was a boyhood friend of the father had donated one of his kidneys and gave him back a normal life.
  3. If it was a one off from Biden I wouldn't have commented but his misquotes and gaffes have become a joke which the Trump team are continually attacking, albeit falsely at times but the worry is that if this man became president gaffes like that over telcons to other leaders could be misinterpreted. Trump btw is no better in articulation as we all know, as was Bush. And I repeat it's a fuckin joke as is American politics and I cannot in all honesty take it seriously.
  4. Four minutes between commercials is acceptable? Even american channels do not run commercials every four minutes. Surely they could have cut to studio discussion or hole by hole layout with Beemer etc, they are not that unimaginative, the decision to run as many ads was purely commercial and the paying viewer was immaterial. I've watched Sky golf over the years and it has never been as bad as it was last night, don't forget they also get a hefty subscription fee from us over and above the commercial income, to me it seemed we got as much commercials as golf last night and that's not what we are paying for.
  5. Latest gaffe from the *** Biden is that on a telecast speech he states that 200 million Americans have died due to Covid, the actual figure is 200,000! Clown against Clown, it's a fuckin joke.
  6. At Dechambeau's start Paul McGinley quoted him as saying that he was going to rip every hole, 'if he continues like that' says Paul, 'he'll be five over. Good prediction Paul.
  7. I filed a complaint with Ofcom, apparently all channels are allowed 12 minutes per hour, Sky Golf easily exceeded that last night.
  8. My enjoyment of Sky's coverage of the US open last night was totally ruined by the frequency of commercial breaks, at around 7.30pm I timed the break between two commercial breaks as FOUR fuckin minutes, four minutes of live golf! I gave up at 8pm. Sky are getting too greedy, it's a subscription channel plus they have revenue from the commercials.
  9. That story came up twice on BBC Scotland, Gary Robertson fecked him over on GMS when Dross quoted Jonnie Hall, the NFU Director, as backing him that MP's had never voted on cutting UK food standards, GR said that was not what Jonnie Hall agreed with but Dross insisted him it was. That afternoon John Beattie had Dross on and raised the question of food quality standards and Dross fell into the trap by insisting that Jonnie Hall backed him, so John Beattie say's 'Lets listen to Jonnie Hall then', at that a very angry JH came on rubbishing Dross................................................................................................ Dross =Liar, surprised?
  10. The Scottish DE headlines anti SNP shite daily, this article is no different other than they being a right wing rag are backing a left wing clown like Scotlands Embarrassment Galloway.
  11. The Germans used Lord Haw Haw to broadcast their hysterical propaganda during WW2. The Unionists have George Galloway.
  12. It doesn't surprise me one bit, that's American politics for you.
  13. I don't dislike that idea but we would lose a lot of credibility worldwide, especially from our European numbers who we need to keep in our good books with our hopes of EU membership. Have faith in the democratic process which will see us a an Independent nation again.
  14. No doubt he had a perverse reaction,(hard on possibly?), when he was physically beaten by Eton's Headmaster. It's the sort of thing that has produced countless Prime Ministers! Bend Over Boris.
  15. So finally I got some answers. The obvious is, due to the recent downturn in the oil price we saw a year ago and now with demand dropping due to Covid all the Majors have entered into a financial prudence phase which obviously has hit Total, all are exercising deep cuts and redundancies, there are at least 16 rigs stacked in Invergordon and many many more worldwide. There has been a slight upturn in drilling, for instance all Stena rigs are back to work but the heady days of $500,000 -$600,000 dayrates are gone and the Icemax is on a dayrate of $170,000 which just manages to reduce losses. Total have been hit harder than most, as you know the French were instrumental in returning The Ayatollah Khomenei to Iran, the reward was that Total was allowed massive investment and development in Iran's oil production, they were the main player in that shithole Kharg Island and run all ops there, so Total then invested $4.8 Billion in Iran's South Pars Natural Gas Field, the largest in the world, and then the US imposed massive sanctions on Iran promising large penalties on any Companies that did business with Iran, so with that Total had to pull out in 2018, so you can imagine the knock on financial effect that had throughout the company. Bear in mind that Total's outlay on their Shetland plant has been in the region of £4 Billion and now a partner Ineos is delaying further investment you get the picture. Re the WOS I have more Total development info which I will PM you.
  16. Didn't this fool have to resign from parliament owing to the cash for access scandal when he told undercover reporters, (representing a made up chinese company), that he had access to very senior politicians and he charged £8,000 for a half days work. So we can take whatever he has to say as the honest truth?
  17. Well you must have inside information as all I can find is that the plant is in production, there were strikes in 2019 and the other problem was the delayed investment by Ineos which I already mentioned. A pal of mine works in Total's Aberdeen office so I'll see what he has to say.
  18. West of Shetland is beginning to look like a busted flush tbf. Totals all singing all dancing Shetland Gas Plant absolutely dying on its arse being testament to that Total's Shetland gas plant on it's arse? First I've heard of that. Total is still producing from the Laggan and Tormore fields, they have had disputes with BP which cost them further financial costs in the building of a power station and they also have had problems with Ineos who are dithering over further financial outlay on the Glendronach Field. BP are producing from The Clare, Schiehallion and Foinavon fields to the Sullom Voe plant which has nothing to do with Total. Equinor's Rosebank field is awaiting development. Admittedly there are development problems due to the West of Shetland location just as there were in the East Shetland basin in the early days, we had numerous wells drilled where the hydrocarbon was of a high viscosity but this was eventually overcome, bear in mind that in the days of kelly drilling in the NS the technology was virtually straight down if possible, now with advanced directional drilling they can pinpoint exact areas where to direct the bit to.
  19. It was ever thus with senior westminster politicians. The tories and in fact any westminster government will be anti Scottish Independence as long as we have oil in the ground which provides a financial outcome, admittedly there is not the reserves in the east Shetland basin there once was but fields such as the Claire in the west of Shetland are immense and will be with us for some more decades. Westminster as part of their anti Indy strategy play down the importance of the oil fields financially and continually portray the North Sea oilfields as depleted and of no value, it is blatantly true that since the 1970's westminster has frittered the oil income on military and grandiose schemes such as London's Crossrail, the Olympics, HS2 etc etc while completely ignoring Scotlands needs. We the Scottish people have been in effect no lubed fuckin reamed from day one with our oil income, even now North Sea platforms and rigs are being de-commissioned in the north of england while our major yards are empty. Also know that in Western Europe only Norway and Scotland are oil producers, this has always been a massive bargaining chip for westminster in EU trade deals, to lose that would leave them exposed.
  20. It's a fuckin disgrace borne out of jealousy of the support shown for Nicola and her team. Thankfully on gaining Independence the BBC as we know it will be history.
  21. What surprises me is the reaction surrounding the tory leadership behaviour with the EU, surely to Christ it was more than obvious from day one that the Bojo/Rees Mogg/ IDS and the little englander cartel were hell bent on a No Deal Brexit. Why the shock and surprise as it was surely inevitable that The Land of Hope and Glory mob would go down this route.
  22. I'm surprised that Germay isn't more progressive I would have thought that being in the EU you would have the same foreigner rights as foreigners here in Scotland have to vote in Scottish parliamentary elections, after all foreign or no most of them work and pay their taxes and it's right they have their say. I do know that Germany after the war had a massive influx of Yugoslav and Turkish workers and most stayed on, their children will be well integrated by now.
