Just went and had a look at trying to book a 4ball on the PGA Course at Gleneagles, and I actually laughed out loud when I seen the prices they are wanting. £1200 for a 4ball on any of the 3 courses at Gleneagles? Surely that’s not right. I played the PGA about 6 months after the Ryder Cup was there and I don’t think I paid more than £100 quid.

They do have a special ‘tee-time offer’, which brings the price down to somewhere around £170pp, but thats in September and only late afternoon tee times are available. I think we will find somewhere else.

I played it a couple of months ago, it was £100 a head so no idea why the price is like that now. Wasn’t near worth £100 to be honest, bit of a garbage course and condition wasn’t good. Kings and Queens both significantly better layouts.

I wish we could get some clarity on David Bangala. I think we’ve all just presumed he’s away but there’s been zero mention of him going or looking likely to go. Bullen hinted that the ones most likely to leave were Hewitt and Ecrepont as they were in positions we needed to weaken.

As it stands Bangala is now our fourth choice right back and fifth choice midfielder. Just pay the guy off and call it a day.

What is the benefit to us of paying off his contract? It would actually be financially detrimental unless we can convince him to take less than the the full value, which he would be mental to accept as he won’t get a game anywhere.

We’d be better putting him on gardening leave for the season if we can’t even get anyone to take him on loan paying none of his wages, rather than paying him it all upfront.

  3. The problem is that scratch level golfers are just so incredibly consistent that they will always shoot relatively close to par, whereas anyone from probably 12/13 upwards could easily shoot 80, but could also shoot 100 on any given day as the consistency isn’t there. You don’t tend to get teen level handicappers who just consistently shoot 85, they’ll have some great rounds and some stinkers.

I’m a 15 and my best round is 6 over, but regularly shoot into 90s.

Chris Burke strolled through every game he played that season so it’s not fair to single Reading out for the roasting he got that night.

From memory, since Reading signed he’s had a poor run of a few games but always recovered and finished the  season quite well. Last season he didn’t recover and finished it worse off than what he started.

Whilst he’s under contract I’m prepared to give him a chance but Bullen seems aware that we might need to sign a left back at some point this summer.

His early performances were getting him into national squads. It’s pure revisionism to say he’s been shite since day 1.

I actually thought Harman looked pretty nervy on the 18th yesterday, although he made a great putt for par.

Even the best players in the world can get absolutely rattled out of nowhere by the weather, or a bad lie or failing to get out of a bunker.

Really need him to get unlucky and be right up at the face of a bunker and Adolf it a few times.

Can only echo the comments above about the shouting. It's got more frequent in the US and its now drifting into xenophobia and racism over here and personal abuse at Harman. Fucking grim stuff.

Hopefully it's not too bad at the Ryder Cup this year, but the next one will be at Bethpage Black with thousands of pissed up New Yorkers. Could be an utter shitshow.

I also think LIV and their outright desire to have this sort of thing be the atmosphere has brought these types to the sport. PGA Tour with events like the Waste Management are also actively encouraging this shite behaviour.

Back to the present, it’s absolutely rubbish when the last day of a major is a procession, so boring. Need to hope for an incredible bottle job but realistically there’s no chance and it’s just going to be a comfortable win.

I don't know if there was malicious intent, or not, but there was a shout of 'chicken tikka' when Sharma took a tee shot early in the round.

Intentional, or not, these shouts need to be discouraged as heavily as possible. Won't be long till some clown does it on a back swing and the player doesn't have time to stop.

That is absolutely disgraceful and blatantly racist, and hopefully they were removed straight away. This has definitely been the worst Open I’ve watched in my lifetime for the annoying shouts (and I would personally throw every single one of them out), but the above is genuinely disgusting.

Can't get enthused by The Harminator winning The Open, would love to see Hovland, Rahm or Tommy shoot the lights out and nick it, but it might be a decent payday tomorrow for me. Just a couple of quid on each mind you.

A Sepp Straka, Brian Harman top 2 finish. Harrowing for the golf world, ecstasy for Herc.

  9. This feels like the worst I’ve ever heard it for annoying shouts. Every single tee shot has some clown screaming in the background, and it has to be off putting when half the time they start shouting as they hit the ball.

Very concerning to see Harman and Speith at the top. I', not anti America just anti American golfers, they mostly seem like smug gits that have effectively been "professionals" from the day they started playing.

I like Spieth, would happily see him win. Harman is another nobody Todd Hamilton character that would be an absolutely garbage winner, have to hope he folds like a deck chair.

Watching JT chip from 1 bunker into another on his way to an 8 (ir was it a 9?) On the last was also heartbreaking*

Annoyingly I’m away at two separate weddings the first two weekends and am away during the week. Will make it a some time in the future for sure!

Aye. Im on the east coast and we’ve seemed to have had it really bad. Either pissing rain or howling winds. Iv got 2 weeks annual leave in august and plan on playing the championship course at Carnoustie. So hopefully we get a change in weather then.

On a side note my mate can sign on at the Champ and is happy to do it. £52 I think it is
