  1. Imagine watching that first 45 minutes and thinking it was acceptable to send the same 11 players out for the second half. Bewildering.
  2. Two very different sides since last game at Somerset in May. Not sure what will happen at left back, if Milne out and Ngwenya missing the Queen of the South game. Both teams seem incapable of defending, although Ayr have managed a couple of clean sheets this season, unlike Thistle. Got 0-0 written all over it.
  3. I'm certainly not wetting my knickers but I've supported Thistle a very long time and I've seen this movie many times before. Regardless of the quality (or lack of quality) in the squad, the team is lacking cohesion, confidence and desire. The last one is most worrying as I can take being outplayed by the opposition but not being outfought. A few wins may change things but, at the moment, that is difficult to see happening.
  4. I never usually say I'd take a draw but, given the form of the two teams, I'd probably be happy with that on Saturday. Two very different teams from play offs and two very different levels of confidence.
  5. Have to disagree, sorry. For the second week in a row, Doolan changed the formation and, for the second week in a row, we let the opposition back in to the game. Poor substitutions and poor tactics - it was pretty much Doolan's fault - especially as he didn't learn from his mistake the previous week. I say pretty much his fault as, lacklustre defending from players who aren't good enough to be in the team, also contributed to both Rovers goals. Doolan also said Thistle look solid in defence in the first half. I have to disagree with that as well.
  6. If Docherty played within his capabilities he'd be a really good footballer, but he doesn't. He's 30 years old and has never played in the top flight. Why? He marks space well, reads the game, is tenacious and great at pressing. A good talker on the pitch as well. However the problem comes when he has the ball at his feet. He thinks he's better than he is. He'll play the ball out the park several times a game or dwells on it and loses possession. He gives it away constantly. Always wants to take free kicks, although I think he's hit the target once. What type of player is he? Let's just say he always plays well for the team that doesn't have the ball.
  7. Horrible match and horrible performance. Got dominated in the air all over the park and never really got going. Never felt comfortable at all and wouldn't have been surprised if Accies had equalised. Referee looked out his depth. Great goal from Tiff. Great save from Sneddon. Great 3 points.
  8. Yes, that's exactly what I was implying. We're prime Barcelona.
  9. People will look Tuesday night's favourable results elsewhere, which I can understand. However, I keep saying, we have to concentrate on winning our own games and nothing else. I think if we go to Inverness and win on Friday night it could be a real season defining result. It would be a boost psychologically as much as anything else. Do we do things the hard way more than any other team? Probably not, but I get that it sometimes feels that way. I think this squad is different though, and the poor results we have had have been through a bit of complacency. Confident of a getting a result but don't think there will be a lot of goals.
  10. Rather obvious thing to say, but there is a long way to go. Teams that get relegated to The Championship often struggle - Thistle had two terrible seasons post going down. However, I thought, given Dundee kept most of their squad together from last season, they would have hit the ground running. I said before that I reckon any team finishing above them will win the league - and I stand by that. It's a horrible, tight division that is easy to climb with a few wins on the bounce. Getting a few wins on the bounce is easier said than done mind you. Also, that BBC "report" is a fuckin disgrace.
  11. I don't get McCall's persistence with Smith. He's scored one goal and has one assist in 50 games. I don't think we've seen the best of the player, he's been decent at other clubs, but when he's getting a game ahead of Tiffoney and Fitzpatrick you have to ask questions. If the guy is going in and trying his best you can't ask for anything more. You can ask why the manager keeps picking him though. He must be brilliant in training.. Big game on Friday night. ICT have picked up over the last few games but, with this squad, I'm now confident going in to every match.
  12. Great free kick from Robbie Muirhead with another unprovoked noise up celebration to fans who had never uttered a bad word about him before last match at Cappielow. Hope you enjoyed your moment of glory Robbie. Enjoy your night. X
  13. I said the same thing. I didn't think we played brilliantly. We've simply got better players.
  14. Can anyone tell me how this had anything to do with today's game?
