  1. He scored last season in an 8-0 win for East Fife, all we have to do is get seven goals up now…
  2. Fiji taking off the scrum half kicking like prime Chris Paterson feels like an error
  3. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/sep/15/robert-macintyre-heckled-by-spectator-at-wentworth-who-lost-bet-on-golfer Get it right round the spectator and good on Bob for birdieing 18 with all that in the background.
  4. For all of the pearl clutching around Rassie’s conduct with referees, it has worked absolutely perfectly because referees are shit scared to give anything against them and the citing authorities dare not go anywhere near them. Could see Curry’s being overturned now because there will be a storm with the English press if not.
  5. That’s dreadfully weak refereeing there, it really is. Even Shane Williams thinks he should have been binned there
  6. It’s in and now the waiting game begins. If he makes it, it might work out quite well but he can be free to just play good golf over the weekend, finish as high as he can and make it difficult for Meronk or Paul to pass him.
  7. Have a sneaky feeling he needs this because I don’t think Donald will give him a pick.
  8. That was a massive moment. Keep the head and he’s playing the weekend
  9. Finished -2 with a 6 on the last. Not a bad start and certainly not a disaster, although Paul is ominously placed…
  10. Is there a reason why a third of our squad seems to be injured at any one time?!
  11. He’s up to third again after a great start to his round again - that quad has probably cost him a run at this event but at least demonstrated that bounce back ability once again.
  12. South Africa look quite handy here lads, got to say
  13. I know referees are sometimes a touchy subject on this thread, but appointments for the RWC pools are up: SA v Scotland - Angus Gardner Scotland v Tonga - Karl Dickson Scotland v Romania - Wayne Barnes Ireland v Scotland - Nic Berry Jaco Peyper has the opening game.
  14. And there’s the red. Do England actually try to play any rugby or do they just fly about trying to blitz people?!
  15. No Duffy and suddenly no Forbes or Parry. Interesting…
  16. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/article-12409835/SHAUN-EDWARDS-Justice-served-Owen-Farrell-RIGHT-cleared-play-course-player-safety-paramount-reality-collision-sport.html Apologies for the DM links but if I had to guess the name in rugby that would back the indefensible in Farrell’s case, Shaun Edwards would be high on the list.
  17. That’s an absolute scandal Needless to say, if that’s a Scotland player, they’re probably out of the WC.
  18. I believe your squad this season will allow you to qualify for the on-field part of things, whether you associate winning L2 as hitting that threshold. It’s a hell of a lot more exciting on that front than we have to look forward to! You also have a community to represent and harness positively at the moment, although I’m not in a position to say either way how effective that process has been with Dumbarton. We currently have a nomadic existence in Hamilton, hopefully Crownpoint can help move us forward on this
  19. First of all, apologies for the slightly long-winded and probably self-indulgent post, but I feel like a Sunday morning vent so here we are I remember first asking the chairman during a meeting last year - can’t remember which one - that the club was in a state of decline and it was greeted with a mild sense of surprise and incredulity that anyone would ever think that. Yet, here we are and two games in, the rot is well and truly set in for another long and brutal season. Once again, there is nothing tangible to excite the fanbase beyond a Crownpoint application which we look underdogs at this stage to secure and a suddenly announced investment which we’re only getting the benefit of at the time when the vast majority of the quality players are already signed up. I don’t sneer at a single club in this division because they all have at least one of three critical things you need for a successful operation - on-field success, competent stewardship and community connection. I envy them for having these things. There is no divine right to success but the whole attitude around the club is a complacency that because we were half decent almost two decades ago, then we’ll be fine. I miss most of the games these days but my job means I watch another club on a Saturday on a regular basis and the comparison between the way they operate on and off the field just makes me even more frustrated at how things are going with Clyde. The game on Wednesday is one of the few I could make because the two teams don’t clash for once, but there will be no chance at all, it’s just a waste of time at the moment. It’s not about the fact we’re losing so much - I’m used to that with Clyde over the years - but I don’t even see a reason to invest the mental space at the moment. I don’t even check what the score is until I come back from the games right now. We talk about growing the fanbase but I’m a fan just approaching 30 and have no intention to engage with the club - beyond my monthly contribution - until there is a sign of life. At the moment we’re just flatlining towards an existential crisis and I can’t bear to watch it.
