  1. Without tempting fate ...looking fairly comfortable at the back competing in the middle but offering v little up front. Still in the game tho.
  2. Agreed. Ref took ages to blow...was this no foul if the ball gets cleared but an infringement only because we put the ball over the line? Someone earlier said this particular ref takes a side in each match, depending on which fans swear at him. I don't think I can evidence that but since the return of DGW last season, we have NOT got any benefit of the doubts...I the last few games: multiple booking v Dunfermline, sending off V Montrose, soft pen v QOS and multiple decisions v Alloa.
  3. Sounds like the ideal candidate...would you Wasps be able to provide a glowing reference?
  4. We're a couple of players short and oor manager canny make it...could we borrow a few of your players and one of your coaches please? Just to even things up a bit.
  5. Not so sure you're right there CM. The foundation describes itself as the 'Official Charity of Clyde FC'. Their board includes a J Alexander and a G Nisbet: 1 was a recent director of Clyde and the other is a current director. It is still based in Cumbernauld and WE promoted their recent October week soccer school. We need to be really careful with that separate identity stuff. Without community we are guaranteed to fail wherever we end up playing home matches.
  6. Surely to goodness after The Chapman shambles, we wrote in a performance condition to the contract? If not we should ask the board to go.
  7. Watching the Scottish Cup on the BBC. Couple of players like the Pollok #4 and the Annan #7 have caught the eye.
  8. You're right, his personality make us a bit warmer to him, however this is a time for facts. He got us out of a poor 2nd division He had possibly 1 of the best strikers outside the SPL to help We have just escaped relegation back to league 2 every year under his leadership since our promotion His recruitment was poor so we brought in a recruitment team to pre select players. His selection was poor of these options. This season, he says he got all his targets and we were looking for more dynamic quicker players. That lasted 2 league games. We always use budgets as his defence but this is said without any counter evidence...Edinburgh, Arbroath, Kelty etc. He was nearly sacked after the Clydebank game last year. We offered him an extension to his contract when he was allegedly a target for Thisle. Stupidity, this would have expired in September. He got a new contract in April 2022. He is amongst the highest paid PART TIME managers in Scotland. Due to his part time status, he rarely watches other team's matches or scouts players. It is said his methods are old fashioned and not favoured by players. What is the basis for keeping him? If hoping for a change of luck is the way ahead that's a pretty awful strategy. Changing things usually has some effect.
  9. We were only marginally less pish than QOS. My bias thought we might have stolen it, but we punt high balls to the 2 smallest forwards in the league. Do we train with all our players in opposition coloured bibs, cos that's the only strip we find with passes? We are too lightweight for this league AND the players are all "Danny's Targets". Thanks and goodbye Danny.
  10. Just seen the following tweet. I 100% agree with it. Owners' meeting rarely attracted more than 40 members when online...why would the club want to exclude season ticket holders: we're the punters showing up week in week out? "Given the fact that by the 27th Oct we may have gone 9 defeats in a row and the football being served up is simply awful, the meeting should include any Clyde fan. To exclude season tkt holders especially seems unjust."
  11. Agree and disagree with this. The 2 goals we lost v top of the league Dunfermline this week, were not caused by McLean or P Grant. but by 2 individual basic errors from experienced players. If anyone has played football to any decent level they'll tell you the understanding between players, particularly defenders, is huge. Because DL can't decide on his 'best' selection nor formation, no understanding is built. Maybe that's where the problem is?
  12. Agreed 8 bookings but was never very a dirty match. Pars always on top but if we had any potency we could have nicked a point. Both goals directly attribute Clyde errors.
  13. And the fixture lists suggest it could be a l o n g time before we pick up any points again. I said last month that I don't think we can afford to sack DL, unless we have written in a performance clause to his contract. So we're puct...can't afford to sack him but can't afford to keep him. He's our very own Liz Truss!
  14. Maybe DL will tell us during tonight's exciting podcast. I'm sure the guys will grill the manager is the same way as they did with the chairman a year past in September.
  15. Lyons jumped to avoid the defender's trailing leg but this was NEVER a red. The ref was looking to make it about him all day IMO. The description of camera operation is bang on. It's like watching the match through your fingers...maybe we don't want to see things too close. We are poorer than most in terms of highlight package...like much else about the club. The Mo behind the goal Facebook goals had a recurring nightmare quality.
  16. Was literally just saying I liked the Mo #8, as he hit the shot. I believe it took a bit of a swerve to the keeps right. 3rd was a tribute to Joe Hart. This should feel like the last days but I don't think we can afford to sack DL.
  17. Agree with the noun but definitely NOT the adjective in respect of Bazza as referred to here.
  18. Watchng the stream, which is hard work. Looks like we have lost any confidence in both defence AND up front. Trying to walk the ball into the net and 1st attempt timed at 27 mins.
  19. The move away from Broadwood was an emotional one, based on the preference of some of the board but championed principally by our former interm FD. DGW was just an excuse in my opinion. Due to OUR awkwardness we picked fights in almost every area and took no responsibly for any failure. This meant we were playing 2nd fiddle to the Colts, which in turn, further outraged the board. We can't expect any community or commercial buy in from Hamilton because the Accies are already there. We can't expect C or C support in Cumbernauld because we're not there and can't build bridges in The Gallowgate because we're not there either.
