Clyde Season 23/24

What Doherty needs is a playmaker beside him. I can heartily recommend his partner, Martin Rennie. I'm sure our board would be open to offers. -

The quality of these, possibly except Page, still brings me out in a cold sweat. -

I didn't feel I was an equal owner, so decided to support, financially, in other ways. Like soo much about the Club the ownership feels like it doesn't fit well now. -

I guess it's about isolating the variables. If we have no manager, who does the recruitment. If you ask Duff to recruit, any new manager has the excuse "it's not my squad" if we wait for a new guys, we'll be left with the feckin dregs (again). Never been great about forward planning, us lot. -

Pretty balanced response from @RutherGlen. The Board could certainly do with some freshening up. The current chair strikes me a good bloke, but he is not any sort of business leader, as far as I can see. He is however, the only director prepared to communicate with us: the fans, customers and in many cases the co-owners. I don't doubt their integrity or desire and wouldn't wish to criticise any individual, but Clyde are a p***kly bunch to deal with. We have repeatedly pi$$Ed off people and orgs like NLC, Ronnie, Broadwood Management, Norrie, The Glasgow Branch, The NON Glasgow Branch, Homes Brook, The press, our women's team, SPL clubs who could loan us players, The Colts, volunteers and probably others. My fear is that we have no political alignment or awareness and that means we are at huge disadvantage on Crownpoint, as the decision will be voted on by The Council. -

Are you saying the only players on 2 year deals were the ones brought in by Duff in the Jan window? -

Rennie = heidless chicken Agreed re Quitongo: why has he been so far away from 1st team action for the last several weeks? With such a threadbare bench, why did we not at least strip Salkeld, Doherty and Cunningham? -

Fair assessment there. We got hoodwinked by so many factors like escaping relegation for a few years and having a recruitment team that recruited badly and then giving DL a free run to sign a squad who were too wee, too slow, too lightweight and too shotshy. It'll be a long long road back to L1, if it ever happens. -

Not so sure about his steadying affect...He was brought in in February. I don't think I saw an uptick from then on. -

I don't completely agree. I thought we played better away from home that we did on Friday. I guess the plan was to sit in on Friday and frustrate EF; that turned to ratshit after 10 mins. I'm also not a huge Duffy fan, but our last 8 games have been pretty effectively managed: 1 loss in 8 compared with something like 12 losses on the trot earlier. If we can get someone better in, I'd be happy. Our form in this area is pretty poor over the years. -

True, but Raith and certainly Falkirk have provided more belly laughs in recent years. -
Our highlights are far from conclusive (we charge for this?) And the ref didn't help himself by yellow carding Clyde guy for the same foul on EF right back AND then ignoring another EF similar tackle. Shepherd is a great player at this level, but must be 1 of the daftest. It was always going to so much harder foe either team with 10 men. EF totally different proposition on Friday compared to Tuesday, IMO.

You'd expect Dundee and Killie to bring a decent travelling support with them; but Morton wouldn't have been badly supported. I'm not saying we are better supported today, but the home attendance is of the same at a similar poor level today as it was 30+ years ago.
