Clyde Season 23/24
Bully Wee Clyde FC replied to SLClyde's topic in Scottish League 2 General Chatter
Wasn't there so this is based only on reports and you tube...if Bonnyrigg are doomed and we are moving towards safe; how come.we strugged so badly on Saturday againt a team in freefall? I get the momentum bit, but i just dont feel too convinced. I'm not sure how many points we'll get against Spartans, Stenny and Dumbarton. That then leaves E F, Stranraer and Elgin -

Can you get a bottle of whatever you're drinking sent to Mr Choo please? I hope and pray that you're right, but we were out-played, out-though and out-muscled against Forfar at home 2 weeks ago. J Allan back helps, but I'm not sure we have our midfied sortted and everyone else seems a downgrade from Howie in central defense. -

100 % A blind man running for a bus in the fog can see Cameron coming on was a massive downgrade. Why sign or get on loan guys like Leitch, McGinn and leve them on the bench, while puting trust in last year's failures like Cameron and, sad to say, Scullion? -

Still carry the battle-scars on my arse from 'The Coup' that was Glenconner in the late 70's. Great drainage but little else to celebrate and certainly not its location. -

Scullion at both ends. I know he took stick last season and has improved, but I'm not sure there is a footballer in there. -

This is just the latest binning of a player signed during the last close season. Carswell was not the worst. An unmitigated faìlure of leadership. -

This must be true https://www.facebook.com/share/p/WwkLtpCWvETijpWo/?mibextid=K35XfP Delighted to see that Clyde FC have finally got approval and will be taking up home in 2028 in the under used space formerly known as George Square. Local council have said that New Shaw field will be a fabulous addition to the city centre with direct parking access from the Ingram street parking zone (under consideration) -

Not sure I agree re McCulloch...maybe just the cost of paying up of his contract, so send him on loan and defer another cheque to be written. -

On Maitland interview: Amazing to have a board member who speaks with enthusiasm and optimism. Dir of football...a good start but surely he has more strategic, off-field experience, that we need. He said "we" several times...I, for 1, have no issues if he is not the only new blood in the boardroom. -

Revenue (turnover) is vanity but profit is sanity. 1 4G pitch is about £750k, so £90k over 10 years. A groundsman is probably £40k, a facility manager is probably the same. I seriously strughle to understand this rush to believe small-scale teams like us are raking it in 7 days a week. We don't have connections to sell matchday hospitality. -

I think the board have been guilty of naivety. Competing with a locally rooted organisation who had the backing of LOCAL councillors, meant we were at a horrible disadvantage. I hope we learn from the experience. With onfield and off-field results, it would be a good time for those at the helm to reconsider their positions. This isn’t intended as a personal criticism but just sense check that we need to change things up...you know the old saying about doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. -

The issue is the Highland league AND Lowland League have a play off. Or are you suggesting the winners of both get into the SPFL? -

Late 80's I think. Lost an early goal with Charlie Nic scoring, IIRC. John Clark used the gate-money, I believe, to sign Knoxy. Money well-spent. -

This was written before KO? Was AM not able to give some insight to McCall, who only met the, loosely speaking, squad on Wednesday? Forbes, Carwell and big Grant are possibly the 3 slowest players in all of Scottish football. Our midfield offer nothing going forward and Rennie is simply impotent, up front. Despite being 2 nil down inside 10 mins, we made no subs til 65th minutes, which I find baffling. I'll be lighting a candle tomorrow.
