  2. Was told, without anything to verify it, that the Swissport overtime rates plus bonuses were around £60 an hour during the busy period recently. What their basic hourly rates are, i don't know. Might be a lot of tosh, but the guy i know was fairly sure his info was accurate.
  3. Correct on each point. Swissport/Edinburgh Airport acted with the same levels of haste to get rid of a fair percentage of staff as soon as covid hit in the same way that fat tory cretin, Martin, did at Wetherspoons. From guys i've spoken to, both were expecting their former employees to be begging to come back, but lots had to find, out of necessity, other employment to survive during and post pandemic. They have kept their new jobs rather than go back to the old regimes. The issues at Edinburgh are principally with the lack of Security staff, although they seem to be fast-tracking new staff to increase the numbers now. As Swissport do both the ramp duties (loading/unloading the luggage from planes as well as "pushing" and guiding planes on the stands) and ground duties (check-in/boarding/baggage hall) as agents for a number of airlines who don't have their own staff at the Airport, with minimum staff they have not been able to cope with the substantial increase in passenger numbers as the Summer has gone on. They are the main guilty party for all the baggage issues and cancellations, with Menzies also contributing to a lesser degree. Edit https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/passengers-left-hours-claim-luggage-27525970 They refer to the shambles that is as "challenging conditions"

  6. Given your myopia regarding the good of Scottish football and the betterment for all rather than just los cheekos, I'm hoping @edinabear that your greenie was meant to be a red dot, but your serious short-sightedness meant you pressed the wrong colour ??
  7. I thought their (and the other half) participation in the Lower League was for 1 season only ?? Once they get their (uncontested by the SPFL/SFA) way, then i suppose it was inevitable that they'd (plural) be dictating how the new leagues should be restructured to accommodate them and their ambitions to run Scottish football. I am aware that Hearts are now in this league also, but merely following their big brother(s).

  12. There's now an ad for another lottery to join the poppy/friday lotteries - the Donkey Lottery !!!!! You just text "donkey" to win a grand for £1 each week. Would give it a go, but with my luck would win hee-haw. Might have been interested if they'd got Tony Mobray to promote it. No doubt, some quine fae Ebberdeen will win it.
  13. In Edinburgh, the issues are most prevalent with Ryanair, Easyjet and all the other foreign airlines who are "serviced" by either Swissport or Menzies employees at both check-in and boarding. With little or no direct employees on the ground (), these airlines can call their delays or cancellation without facing up to stranded passengers, but leave it up to the very limited number of acting agents - if you can find one. The check-in times are fairly rigid, but other reliable airlines keep their customers fully up to date via text or email with instructions about adjustments to check-in, etc. Everything depends on which airline you're flying with.
  14. Great spectacle today with the twists and turns (literally on various parts of the course) matched by the climbs, especially the final one, making it a fantastic armchair day of genuine sport. Chapeau to all involved. ps, i sincerely hope that none of the protagonists are found to have the chemical equivalent of an electric assistance for their bikes in their system once the race is finished.

  16. And there was me thinking it was just in nornirn n in the stauncher areas of fair Caledonia that they remembered the dwarf pederast and his non-victory. Everyday is a schoolday
  17. Seems the cretins are now evangelists and doing some spreading of their "celebrations" to other corners of the globe. Scotland's shame indeed. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/9149852/orange-walk-marchers-parade-benidorm/
