It’s great to see other clubs fans praising the programme. It’s been a great publication for years now. As for the content, it’s always fresh and informative. It must be a hell of a lot of work. Well done to all involved.
I agree with most of this. We are just relieved and happy to get a win. Any kind of win. 3-0 absolutely flattered us no doubt but we will take it. It’s a difficult road ahead for us due to the near impossible situation we’re in. It was great to leave Central Park with a smile for a change.
We accepted where we are. We are not big time Charlie’s who think we shouldn’t be in the Lowland League. We are also struggling to look forward with the dreadful stuff being served up at the moment. No one I spoke to thought we would win the Lowland league this season with the squad we had last year. However before a player was signed I hoped we would at least be competitive with most teams in the league. This however is now apparently a pipe dream. I have been watching football for 50 years and this Cowdenbeath team are unmeasurably worse than any Cowdenbeath team I have seen in these 50+ years. That’s the reality.
I fear for the future. I think the current situation is unsustainable. If we had to share with another club it would save us short/mid term however it’s also not ideal. Personally I think we need some intervention by someone with bags of cash willing to throw it down a black hole. Wishful thinking I know. We just need to keep going and see where it takes us. The board and the management team are working their socks off and deserve credit to put it lightly.
Not sure about the exact figures but I do believe Cowdenbeath FC also pay all the utility bills on top of rent. Also the upkeep of the ground. In today’s inflationary world it’s crippling.
This is the biggest issue for me. We start tens of thousands behind every team in the league with the costs we have. The owners are squeezing and squeezing. It’s my opinion they want rid and quickly. It wasn’t that long ago we started in front of every team when we charged the stock cars rent. It’s completely turned around. The problems on the pitch are obvious but it is caused solely by the bigger problems off it.
