  1. I don’t remember ever wanting my team to lose any game. In fact I can safely say that’s never happened. I’m not saying I want us to lose in the first round of this cup competition either. However, with home teams keeping the gate money it would be quite a big loss financially for us to have any success in this cup. We would never get a home tie. It would be no surprise if we lost to Stirling University anyway. I will not lose any sleep if we do. It’ll be difficult tie after difficult tie with no financial benefit.

    How is the pitch looking?

    Anyone any ideas.

My opinion is the game has no chance. It’s freezing. It’s to be -3 at 4pm today and to creep above freezing at midday tomorrow.

With the greatest of respect, Cowdenbeath in the 3rd round of the Scottish Cup on a freezing cold day isn't really going to get bums on seats.  500 season tickets holders stayed away going by the crowd, myself included, I went to the pub instead and definitely had a better time.

I think a lot of The Caley fans still have PTSD from the last 12 months of Doddsball, I certainly do.  I still think we're going to concede every time the other team has the ball in our half, even though Boyes and Ujdur have been solid so far at centre half, and I think the players are still mentally frail as f**k, hopefully Ferguson can bring them round.

When I saw the starting XI on Saturday, I knew it would be a slog and it would take our Championship forward line to bail us out.  A lot of those guys don't start for us in the league, some don't even get minutes in the league, and more or less the same side on Saturday drew with Highland League Nairn County only 6 weeks ago, so it's definitely a weak squad when you get past our Championship starters. January can't come quick enough.

Good home draw against another Lowland League side in the next round. Best of luck for the rest of the competition.

Ladbrokes have us 2/11 odds on, 11/2 the draw and Cowden 16/1 against.

I can't recall such long odds in our favour over the years and I'm a wee bit apprehensive even though we should win.

I would think these odds are about right. Inverness absolutely should win. However the game has to be played and you have to earn it. Not a good draw for us tbh. Still it’s good experience for our players. Whatever the score.

Start of this years Hampden journey and good chance to divert attention from the 'tiresome' battery farm chat through giving these butchers, bakers and candlestick makers the level of skudding expected by an elite team with rich pedigree in this competition.

Home team to score more goals than these Fifers have digits on their 6 finger hands please.

    Aye. Fitever.

  6. Just checked the results. Some good teams left. We can park this now but I must say I’m enjoying this cup run. Hopefully we can get a home draw or a nice away day if we can avoid the obvious tough teams.

Still hoping for St Andrews away 🙂. They are still in it, as their game away to Kennoway was called off.

What an away day that would be. Fingers crossed. I would make it a weekend away.

  8. 4 up at HT. A couple of good goals. Especially the second. Great move. Lanark started off well with a good shape and obvious motivation. However a collapse in the last 20 mins of the half. Still it’s been good entertainment.

  9. I must say I’ve enjoyed the two games against Linlithgow. Really tight games and each of them could have went either way. I normally don’t do away games but I have never been to Linlithgow and I’m told they have a good set up. I think I’ll make a trip over in January. They brought a decent number over yesterday. Kudos.

  10. First of all I hope the injured guy recovers quickly. We’ve had lots of draws where I thought we should have won. This is different. Linlithgow we’re organised and motivated. It was certainly a hard fought game. I’ve seen quite a number of games in the Lowland league, this season and last. I don’t think I’ve seen a team who constantly try to influence the officials as much as Linlithgow do. It’s on a ridiculous scale. Whinge, whinge and whinge. I take it that it’s part of the team talk. Our goal was a great finish. I’ll take a point and move on.

  11. My goodness we love a draw. Had enough chances to win the game. Saying that Albion had one or two as well. We played the better football however. The point blank save by the Albion keeper at the end was amazing. Zac Butterworth even playing out of position was my mom. I like the way we always play out from the back. Scary at times but the right way to play. Another tough game on Saturday. Some players back so hopefully 3 points this time.

  12. This was always going to be a closely contested tie. Delighted to get through and in the draw for the 3rd round. It would be nice to get a favourable and winnable tie. Well done to all involved today. Happy weekend everyone. 🎉🎉🍾🍾⚽⚽
