  1. This forum shows how easy it is to criticise, remember Hartley? He had the freedom and budget to bring in players. He was horrendous for us and how many posters on here were screaming at the board for not having someone with football knowledge above the manager to oversee or advise. Now complete opposite Holt must go because we don't need anyone apart from the manager because somehow what Hartley got wrong could never happen again because we're down a league! What's right? I don't know but shouting for a DOF position when we don't have one and screaming we don't need one when we do is frankly ridiculous. Criticism for the sake of it. Personally I don't think our team is that far away from getting things right, Montrose, Dumbarton and queens all should've been killed off in the games and rode their luck big time. We've had a dip, lost bad goals and not been clinical up front but we will get stronger and start killing teams off and when we do there isn't a team in this league can cope with us.
  2. I actually agree with you here,a 3rd strip should be announced with the other 2 and potential clash of kits checked before season starts. It's not a huge deal but definitely could've been done better.
  3. To be honest this is the first time in a few years I haven't bought a top as we've had some pretty good strips. I just didn't like the home or away ome enough to buy either so if it's nice I might get it. 1 other point if any parent let's the child/children dictate or pressure you into buying the top then you're quite simply doing parenting wrong! Your the adult, your in charge.
  4. You'd think that but then again you'd be surprised how very very long any football fan can hold a real or imagined grudge! There are a number of teams from the feeder leagues right to the top league who I want to get pumped every week for real and imagined slights against Falkirk or Scottish football in general (some grudges are 30 to 40 years old) there's also some teams that never get under your skin at all for some unknown reason.
  5. It's hard work being this optimistic in life and a Falkirk fan at the same time!
  6. So far I've seen every game except Alloa. I'm not wanting to be controversial but it's going to be that way unfortunately. I think we'll win this league, we are the best team in the league and just because a couple of excellent performances doesn't mean we're great a couple of bad results doesn't mean we're terrible. From what I've seen if we had a 20+ goalscorer we'd win the league by miles but we don't so it'll be tighter but we will win it. *feel free to quote this back to me at the end of the season if we don't win the league as by that stage I couldn't feel any worse anyway
  7. Ompreon had a good 1st half v killie, his best of the season against a good team, he's certainly not as bad as posters on here are making out and can hopefully kick on now. Considering how much he's played I'd still say jury is out on him but like everyone else I'm glad we have got another forward in.
  8. So gloom and doom for us dominating v QP but Airdrie playing well but not creating v us is ok? How does that work? Was positives again yesterday and the majority seem to be able to see this as the home crowd at games has increased so far since 1st home game this season but come on here and you'd think we were terrible to watch and going further backwards. I can see negatives another striker would be fantastic but the almost constant we're bad, we're terrible, everyone else is better, this player's terrible, that player's terrible our manager's clueless etc on here is just depressing.
  9. It's something that annoys me and I don't want to single out a post as loads of posters do it but this "x player never impressed me at y club" so basically people are judging players on 1 or 2 or at most a few games v us or possibly a few highlights of games then completely writing players off before they've kicked a ball for us. Even when we play teams I know I tend to notice players who are outstanding v us not someone having an average game. Let's hope tomorrow I notice none of their players as they all have average at best games and the bairns go on and on
  10. On and off the field are always interlinked as I can't remember any sack the board shouts at our last cup final or when doing well under houstie. Quite simply if we or any club are doing well almost no-one cares what's going on in the background (see david Murray at rangers for example!) Doesn't mean it's right but that's how football is.
  11. I know I watched by stream yesterday due to work, will be 4 of us there next weekend that wasn't there on Saturday. The stream option means some people will use it, especially older people or anyone with underlying health conditions so yesterday's crowd was excellent considering the last few seasons and if you want to be specific the finish to last season was so bad our crowd should really be far far lower than it has been this season.
  12. Comfortable in the end, improvement all over the park compared with last season. Nesbitt looked excellent again today and there seems to be some strength in depth.
  13. Can't make the game this Saturday so good to see club making the livestream available to season ticket holders, next best thing so hopefully I can catch some of the match.
  14. I'm the same, thought he did well v Morrison. Don't know why but for some reason I thought queens park game was next week! Hopefully we can keep it going v clyde and set up a massive game after that
  15. Would also say about the first half that that's the best any team have dealt with Morrison this season. Is good we have other threats now can only see us getting stronger as the season goes on. Saturday already looks massive
  16. I'm another one surprised by the crowd attendance fair enough if the figure was just under 700 bairns but the idea there was almost as many home fans there is almost laughable. As for the game we dug in, rode our luck at times and got the result something our team in the last few seasons would never have been able to do. The constant fouling of Robbie Mutch with ref and linesman was ridiculous and could've cost us.
  17. Well done to the CI guys, anything that engages people with falkirk can only be positive and good the differences were sorted out. I can't help thinking though Falkirk (or other clubs) have been around over 100 years and we should be here for a few hundred more so at some point clubs are going to run out of stands or space to build statues! Like so many others I'm heading to airdrie today positive and looking forward to our good start continuing, so good to be enjoying games again. Suppose if things go wrong I can just sit behind someone and moan for 90 minutes in an annoying voice and see if they comment on social media
  18. And why do people travel from all over Scotland and elsewhere to watch their local "rangers/celtic" team, the 2 biggest teams in Scotland are based and thrived off politics and religion!! That's why folk get annoyed about flags.
  19. Can we please get on to important stuff, is the south stand bar open on Wednesday?
  20. That's true that on the park is more important. Also true the union flag has been flown by some Falkirk fans now and then but it's also been divisive as long as I've supported us with little general support among the majority of Falkirk fans. It won't attract fans to us from rangers but it would put off some fans from supporting us as it has an association with rangers and like it or not the far right, also nationalism wasn't a major issue for most so the change in politics in Scotland since the 80/90s means the flag will alienate even more potential supporters. So while it's not a major issue it could lose us fans and isn't really a good look for a provincial Scottish football team.
  21. I don't have a problem with flags, folk can fly a saltire, union jack, irish flag or whatever, is upto them. However when it's at the football the problem with the union jack is it's so heavily associated with rangers and there's the false narrative Celtic fans run with that we (and loads of other clubs) are just rangers fans without the bus fare. Anyone younger fans maybe from a celtic supporting family wanting to support us instead of celtic would be put off by that union jack yesterday. Anything that discourages anyone from supporting us or any local team rather than rangers or celtic is in my opinion a very bad thing (a very bad thing...that's them told then )
  22. Is good for the club to be positive on and off the pitch, the section so highly vulnerable people can attend safely is an excellent idea and the club deserves credit. How good would it be if we could start getting things right on and off the park for the next few seasons.
  23. Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and admit you were wrong. When we were top last season I didn't want M&M out thinking we'd get up they'd have some experience behind them and we'd improve the team for a season in the championship how wrong could you get. The performance v Airdrie with a play off place at stake was a disgrace. The difference between last season and this is night and day, last season's team would've used the covid isolation as an excuse to hide during the game. We look like a football team not 11 individuals running about. Last season stop Morrison and we had nothing else. Early days but looking good so far. P.s anyone know if South stand and south stand bar are open on Wednesday for EK game?
  24. Just reading this so decided to check emails, south stand ticket there now
  25. Would be nice to get another striker in but there's an obvious difference from last season in that we have goals coming in from midfield (hopefully). Will be good to see a big crowd on Saturday, and going on into the season will be very good to enjoy a pre match pint in the south stand bar. Does anyone know the date when this optimistic forward looking attitude gets crushed into the dirt this season?
