  1. That's tragic news. Thoughts with his family and all who knew him.
  2. I was positive and supportive about Johnson getting 2 years last summer and I'm not feeling it about Gibson. Which means we are likely going to romp the league and sign a 35 goal + a season striker in the summer.
  3. One team has to go and that's a risk every club takes. Sadly we weren't good enough and in the end nor were Gibson and Murray. The club has to dust itself down and rebound. We did it 10 years ago and we need to do it again. I am as frustrated and disappointed as the next man, but sometimes you have to take a backwards step to move forward again and this relegation has been coming the last couple of years. Action has to be taken now to get us back up.
  4. Football club gets relegated, hardly anything new, it's known risk to every side, every season. That's football. Buy a shirt sponsor raffle ticket, win the first prize, it's the known prize and has been for umpteen years. It's not as if this is the first draw and his company won, or his company has won every year since it's inception.
  5. The state of some of the takes on here about the shirt draw. We want your money, but you can't have your name on the shirt. Classy.
  6. I think the fact the Commercial Manager is on the pitch on match days kind of makes the point. It’s a bit non-league.
  7. Cheers Queens, delivering a 3-0 pumping, the BoD giving an update 24 hours previous, including stating their going to bolster the squad in January. WTF do we have to moan about tonight? b*****ds.
  8. Strong half from the South, they have to see this through in the second. Wee Greta will be raging with Ayr, they’re polluting Dumfries with this performance.
  9. That’s the one thing for me, the lingering voice at the back of my mind, reminding me of the only time I think they didn’t have the clubs best interests at heart. Shameful on every level.
  10. I do not for one minute think any can question the BoD have anything but the best of intentions for Queens. Of course they have the long term stability of the club as their number one interest, they have that duty as directors. Everyone of us can sit and snipe and say we'd do this and that but we can do that with zero accountability or responsibility. I was a fan of the 2 year deals for the management and players, I felt after years of constant rebuilding every May and June it would give us a sound base from which to grow. Sadly that doesn't seem to be the case presently and we are looking down the barrell of relegation. Friday night was one of the worst performances I have seen in recent memory, it was clueless, it lacked desire and you'd see better performances on the SoS League over any weekend. That has to be pivotal performance, frank discussions need to be had with the BoD and management. To embarass themselves in such a manner on national TV is a disgrace.
  11. I'll swap #4 for 2002/03 where after winning the league we then backed it up winning the Challenge Cup and finish 5th in the First Division. What a time to be a Queens fan, felt like the start of something after all those crap years in the late 80s and 90s.
  12. I think that’s it for AJ and Clark, but I’m not sure the BoD will act. I was happy enough for them to be given a 2 year deal, I felt it showed a bit of ambition and would allow AJ to build a team and an identity. Genuinely thought it was a positive That hasn’t happened. There is no identity. At the very least make yourself hard to beat, that 3rd goal is one of the most embarrassing I’ve seen defensively for a long time. That’s defending from a group that don’t believe in their manager and coaches. I got it wrong, I hope the board can admit the same and make the changes we need.
  13. It was that picture that made me wince the most. Palmerston is the last of it's kind, it can't be allowed to fall in to disrepair. That said it's easy for me/us to sit behind a keyboard and spend other peoples money.
  14. It's going one of two ways. The ex-manager returns and we get an unexpected win or we get what our form indicates which is a right good humping. I wasn't adverse to AJ being given a long term contract (l-t by our standards) and hoped it would giveus some stability to build, but it appears I was wrong.
  15. The most brutal game of football I have endured for a long long time. As my dear old Grampa would have said "two poor teams". Thankfully we won out and that's about all you can say.
  16. Terrible news, I knew he'd suffered with the big C but never knew it was back and he was facing this. Sorry for your loss. Callum was a good guy, passionate about Queens and (AFC) Wimbledon (FC) and he had a strong dislike for all things franchise in football, Livingston, Airdrie United and most of all MK Dons. We still interacted on occasion Twitter, and I can remember bumping in to him in the departure lounge at Luton Airport on the morning of the Challenge Cup final vs. Brechin. Rest well, KingfaetheSooth.
  17. Can I just say that Morton kit looks magnificent.
  18. January 1991 - Scottish Cup replay, home to non league Ross County - pumped 2-6. April 1996 - Gubbed and reemed 0-7 at home to Stirling Albion, described as a pub-team by both the Binos and the national media (they were right). November 1999 - The shame of a 0-5 at home to Str*nraer. All equally as miserable, soul destroying and humiliating. Add to that the loss at the 2008 cup final to a team comprising of her majesty's most loyal imperfectly registered tax dodgers.
  19. But, is that actually doing a job? If they don't do it very well, then some other schmuk has to clean/tidy up/pick the ball out of the net after them, which means they've failed in their job. No?
  20. I know he served his 10 game ban for secterian abuse and did a re-education programme, but Kirk Broadfoot is not a person I wish to see in a Queens shirt.
  21. Unless you are a diehard or an old football romantic then there is little to entice you to watch Queens at Palmerston Park.
  22. The budget will be set around what the BoD think they'll get in terms of an average attendance on top of ST sales. Sadly it still seems there is a large disconnect between the Dumfries public and their local professional team. If the locals can be enticed back then the budget for players goes up. Trouble is, that's a bit of a chicken and egg approach.
