I saw that Dick Campbell is the new manager at East Fife. Most interesting thing to happen at East Fife for a while. Hopefully he can get them back up the leagues.

If we lose out on the play offs from this position, then that’s bad. However, we’ve had 7 goes at the play offs and have failed miserably. I hate the fucking play offs. You were all ganting for Murray when we beat Dundee United at Tannadice. Now we’ve hit a bad run and the knives are out. Personally, I still like Murray, but we need to stop the rot. We have had some great games and goals during his tenure, but defensively we’ve been soft as shite for a lot of that time. Either way, he’s on a 3 year deal so we should stick with him, hope Stanton is back soon and our form picks up.

3 home defeats on the trot to start 2024. Not good. I bumped the game tonight. The Queens Park and Inverness games done me in and I was happy enough to stay in the pub. Now we have a huge game against Dundee United on Friday. We need to find a way to win games again.

This is likely the only competition we could win this season. Sadly, we don’t have a clue how to beat Airdrie. Which is a bit concerning given our manager must have a decent enough idea about them.

We haven’t resigned Goodwillie yet.

I’ll do some checking up but I have the perception that Rovers have been shite every Winter for fucking years now. They start off like a house on fire, then injuries and suspensions hit and they turn to shite, then those clear up and we usually finish the season strongly. I’m not sure about the Covid years. They’re a blur and might as well not count. Edit: just last season we have a decent January! Either way, I fucking hate this time of year and the fucking Rovers aren’t making it any fucking better.

A purple patch is a good spell, so we are certainly not in one of those. Murray made 5 subs today. That’s 16 players used. How much more can he change it? Murray is just back from injury. Connolly doesn’t look totally match fit yet. You have to wonder if Kev is 100% fit. If he is then that wasn’t great today. Easton did okay today but like Vaughan, he’s a second too slow in thinking what to do. In general we just look out of sort. A team going through the motions of what a football team is supposed to do. There were too many times today where someone in a wing back position couldn’t play the ball forward as there was no movement. Second half was a bit better but I don’t think I ever saw us winning that game.

It’s not like you’re not used to this. It happens most seasons. In the Winter our hopes die. Then, with the warmth of Spring they re-emerge. I reckon the way to keep your sanity is to watch Rovers until October, then find something better to do until March.

Second half was better but not nearly good enough to get a win. Ref was a bit officious. Dundee United are trying their best to keep us in the title race but we really need to get back to winning ways.
