  1. Ross County have only won 7 league games this season. If they were world beaters they’d likely have won a few more. Maybe it’ll be some other mob who drop into 11th place.
  2. Personally, I’ve now pretty much downed tools until the play-offs, but hopefully our manager and players are now fine honing their game ahead of the play-offs. You can thank us when we send Ross County down to see you. ICT 0 v 1 Rovers.
  3. It’s a good point. No idea why. They often don’t add much at all to the show. They should either get better guests -preferably ones who actually like football and want to talk about it - or stop getting guests on so often.
  4. Second place is decent but it doesn’t guarantee you anything. First place guarantees you promotion and we seem to have chucked that away, and a bit easily too. I think losing at Tannadice affected our mindset. Yesterday it felt that even the team realised the title was gone. That’s happened in the space of a week by taking 4 points from 3 home games, with the Airdrie game being the biggest blow. Now we need to beat one of these two teams who we’ve failed to beat this week, over two legs, one of which we haven’t beaten all season. We’ve had seven previous attempts at the play-offs with no success, so it’s not hard to see why as a fanbase we are apprehensive about our chances of success this time. That said, this is a different bunch of players and they have the qualities that have got us to second place. Hopefully they can be the first lot to win the play-offs.
  5. Was It a dive? The way he was acting I was assuming the Thistle boy must have stood on his foot. That would explain why he was going mental but why it didn’t look like an obvious penalty to anyone else watching it. I’ll check the highlights this morning and see if they clear it up. It didn’t look like a foul or penalty to me.
  6. It was good to see Vaughan make an appearance today. He’ll be a key player for the play-offs. I’m crossing my fingers that Thistle can take care of Airdrie in the 3rd v 4th play off.
  7. Not a game that will live long in the memory. The positive is we have secured the second place finish. The negatives are the title race is as good as over and we’re not playing very well. Hopefully we can find a bit of form ahead of the play-offs.
  8. He’s just so contrary. His views have me rolling my eyes. I did assume he was just doing this for ratings but maybe he is just a massive bellend.
  9. The title isn’t quite gone yet. If Morton beat United and we beat Thistle, then there’s 1 point in it with 3 games to go.
  10. See the bit about ‘as Championship teams go’, that’s the key there. You just need to look at the league table to see it’s true.
  11. Both teams in reasonable form, although Rovers played last night (Tuesday) and came unstuck against this seasons bogey team, Airdrie. A Rovers win ensures second place and keeps us in the hunt for the title. A Partick Thistle win keeps their hopes of second place alive. Thoughts? Score predictions?
  12. Just shoot from the hip, chief. That’s the style on here. Knees jerking all over the place.
  13. Midfield to forward we are excellent, as Championship teams go. It’s the defence that needs sorted. This team reminds me of the team we had the season before the 92-93 title-winning season. We’ve the makings of a title-winning team at the moment and we just need to build on that. If we could find this generations Davie Narey then we’re sorted.
  14. In the second half, the number of times players cut back on themselves rather than driving on and trying to beat their man was pretty frustrating. Connolly did this several times, and it either killed the attacking move or blunted the attack with long crosses from deep and our now numerous forwards desperately trying to stay onside. I recall Murrayball working quite a few times for Airdrie in League 1, where they were a couple of goals down and came back to rattle in a few goals and win, but I haven’t been present at a game where it’s happened for us yet. A disappointing night. Now we move onto Saturday. We’ve had a bit more joy against Partick Thistle this season than we’ve had against Airdrie, hopefully that continues. Would be nice if Morton could so us a favour and keep us in the hunt for the title.
  15. We’re 11 points clear in second place. If we finish third then things have gone badly wrong. Thistle’s manager was there tonight watching us, so no doubt he’ll be confident of a result on Saturday, but I still think second place is ours.
  16. I’ll be interested to see the defending, or lack there of, for the first two goals on the highlights.
  17. Was Dykes last goal for Scotland the one he scored against Norway away?
