I’ll do some checking up but I have the perception that Rovers have been shite every Winter for fucking years now. They start off like a house on fire, then injuries and suspensions hit and they turn to shite, then those clear up and we usually finish the season strongly. I’m not sure about the Covid years. They’re a blur and might as well not count. Edit: just last season we have a decent January! Either way, I fucking hate this time of year and the fucking Rovers aren’t making it any fucking better.

A purple patch is a good spell, so we are certainly not in one of those. Murray made 5 subs today. That’s 16 players used. How much more can he change it? Murray is just back from injury. Connolly doesn’t look totally match fit yet. You have to wonder if Kev is 100% fit. If he is then that wasn’t great today. Easton did okay today but like Vaughan, he’s a second too slow in thinking what to do. In general we just look out of sort. A team going through the motions of what a football team is supposed to do. There were too many times today where someone in a wing back position couldn’t play the ball forward as there was no movement. Second half was a bit better but I don’t think I ever saw us winning that game.

It’s not like you’re not used to this. It happens most seasons. In the Winter our hopes die. Then, with the warmth of Spring they re-emerge. I reckon the way to keep your sanity is to watch Rovers until October, then find something better to do until March.

Fairly sure we had defenders playing today. We were missing one decent centre half. Kev still doesn’t look very mobile either. I assume he’s still not quite right.

Second half was better but not nearly good enough to get a win. Ref was a bit officious. Dundee United are trying their best to keep us in the title race but we really need to get back to winning ways.

I didn’t like it. So it wasn’t perfect for me.

Same script as previous games so far. Rovers winning but we don’t look convincing.

Just get a sieve. Job done.

It was a long shot. €50 for the opening game. Unsurprisingly, it’s a no. f**k UEFA right in the pussy. Pub it is.

Certainly the hammer of Inverness.

The Hammer to step up again?

Do we have the players to “win ugly”? Our best players are forwards and midfielders.

To be fair, from the highlights Shinnie was lucky. Went in with the elbow, then 30 seconds later does it again and connects with the Raith players face. We look just like we did last season around the time our league season came to a grinding halt (that Accies midweek game). We can’t defend crosses. First goal there’s a corner that goes too long, gets retrieved by Livi and crossed back in and there’s a Livi player standing unmarked at the edge of the box. Nice wee saunter into the box and knocked home. Second goal is what we saw a lot last season. A cross that a proper central defender would clear all day long. Two Rovers players there (Brown and someone else) and the Livi player easily wins the header and scores. From the highlights, Connolly isn’t quite back to his best. He doesn’t look match fit yet. A fit Aiden Connolly is scoring yesterday from at least one of the chances he got.

If we can only score one goal from all the chances we make, that’s not good. The game of football is all about putting the ball in the net. In games where we have a makeshift defence the star turns have to show their quality and score some goals.

The forwards and midfielders need a boot up the arse too. Never mind last minute goals, a few more goals at any time would do. That would help our under-strength defence out somewhat.

Life is for Livingston. At least that’s what the advert said. When is it for Rovers? Please God!
