  1. My brother knows a guy who supports Plymouth who said he said when we signed him that he was "a solid but unspectacular CH." Only really going by that.
  2. We don't play full backs. Bolton is a CH who can play right back, not wing back. Playing Bolton there would be like putting Fraser there and we know how successful that is.
  3. Like most teams throughout the season, we need a tweak regarding the personnel IMO. Our hand has been forced regarding Strain. I don't get the impression that Bolton is a marauding wing back type player. More of a straightforward "stopper" IMO. The only player we have who might give us a threat similar to Strain, albeit on his "wrong" foot, is the aforementioned Small, who seems to have a bit of pace and directness when going forward. There are other issues, in particular O'Hara's meh performances so far. no idea how to address that one.
  4. I'm only listening to it and my eyes are bleeding.
  5. Away. You threw all your toys out of the pram when we signed him.
  6. We've had one shirt pull in the box go in our favour and one against. I had no argument with either decision. Players know that shirt pulling in the box is, rightly or wrongly, punished by a penalty, so it's stupidity to do so.
  7. I suspect that was functioning fine, as evidenced by soft conditions underfoot. However, it was probably at the setting which doesn't melt any hoar frost on the surface. The reason why most of the pitch seemed frost free on the surface would have been due to the sun hitting those parts of the pitch. The bit in front of the family stand was shaded from the sun so the surface frost persisted. This coupled with the temperature barely rising above zero degrees, led to that particularly slippy part of the pitch, which shouldn't have happened. Looks like they'll have to put up to the setting that melts any surface ice/snow next time. Although I remember a few years ago a figure of £1K being quoted per day for the USH and it having to be switched on from Wednesday until match day. Can only think that that cost has at least doubled. A fair drain on the finances. Maybe climate change will help us out. A lesson learned.
  8. Over the past few seasons Livingston have actually played some decent football. Today was just hoofball and nothing else. It effectively rendered Nouble, who is a decent player, completely redundant. If Martindale is going to persist with that all season, then you could be in even deeper shit come the end of the season. We weren't great at all, but we did try and play some football on the ground. Unsurprisingly, it led to our better moves. Great pass from Boyd-Munce for the goal, but still needs to contribute more for me. Ayunga put in a great shift and Gogic had another great game. Kiltie was great in the first half. Thought Bolton looked quite imposing in his short appearance. Liked the look of Nahmani too. I think he's going to be important for us. With injuries and suspensions starting to bite, we're going to see a few tweaks here and there. With a squad as small as ours we're going to have to rely on a lot of players who haven't played a lot this season to step up to the plate.
  9. It is. If you want a bigger choice of beers, The Bull Inn is just as good.
  10. Have to agree. That's 3 or 4 times that particular groin injury has arisen. A series of hamstring injuries contributed to curtailing his stint in Israel and allowed us to sign him. Better clubs than us who may be looking at signing him might be put off. Unlikely I know, but that could work to our advantage.
  11. The fact that they viewed both the Mandron "foul" incident where his goal was disallowed by Nick Walsh and the blue bigot goal the following week v Livingston, which was allowed by the same referee, which involved a more obvious foul, suggests that the review is somewhat flawed.
  12. I agree. However, he needs to get on the ball more and make more passes. He needs to impose himself more on the game. I'll be absolutely delighted if I'm on here eating humble pie on Saturday evening, but I just feel our midfield loses its spark when we don't have a grafter in there.
  13. Not in Baccus' position. He doesn't have the speed across the ground that Baccus has and lacks the necessary aggression to win the ball back IMO. No argument regarding comments regarding Gogic, but Bolton can surely fill in for one game.
  14. Would much rather have Gogic in there, but not going to happen sadly.
  15. Wait to he goes to Ibrox, he'll be blowing the home fans there.
  16. It's as plain as day,. Did Robbo change his tactics last season when we lost a game?
  17. We've played the same tactics since Robinson switched formation at the start of last season. Are we saying that teams have finally sussed out the way we play after 60 odd games of football? For me, the main difference in the last two games is a lack of energy that affected our pressing game and also several players off form, rather than teams sussing out our tactics. Given the players we have, I really doubt there will any major change in our tactics and rightly so, as they've worked well for us so far.
  18. I said before the game that Dundee were a competent team. The confidence that they've gained through recent strong performances was very much in evidence yesterday. Simply put, we got our arses handed to us on a plate. Too many under par performances from us. Let's hope it's a one off and that people don't forget how well the team has performed up until yesterday.
  19. I'm certain he'll be one of the players that Martin Foyle will be running the rule over. He falls into the category of a very good player, but a bit raw and needs to be more consistent. Ideal material for Robinson and Co. to mould into a more complete player.
  20. Actually, it's the limited technology that is employed at our grounds that is causing some of the shitstorms that arise. Not enough cameras to prove without doubt that something has or has not happened. The bare minimum of technology is being used. as for many clubs £100K+ in some cases (ours at the moment)is already putting clubs under a degree of financial strain. However, the "rules" of VAR and the inconsistencies of the official's interpretation of incidents are as much to blame.
  21. Big Dec wins the "Best man falls"* award for the evening. *Only old fuckers like me will understand that reference.
  22. Very difficult game tomorrow. Dundee seem to have developed into a competent team who can grind out a victory. We'll definitely need to play better than on Wednesday if we want to win the game. Starting Baccus and cutting out the uncharacteristic mistakes at the back would help.
