I did not set out to noise you up, just giving my opinion and i am happy to do so again on the points you raise.

RE: Out of interest who have WW spent "generously" on ?

Not individually, There hasn't been that "BIG NAME" Signing at WW. However at one stage every 2nd day there was a new signing being announced on social media, No "glamourous" signings, mostly middle of the road ex-preston / sunday ams lads that don't seem good enough.  your website shows 33 first-team players, Most likely not accurate but it was the wage bill I was implying where WW spent generously this year.

I expected them to be higher too but been hit by the treatment table.

Every team gets hit with injuries, but you recruit well with cover in positions for scenarios like this, I go back to my point above, 33 signed players !!!

If you read back on the thread a 4th relegation was mentioned not that long ago.

    My bad, seen it now.

I wasn't expecting promotion given the teams that came up but certainly wasn't expecting a relegation battle.

I recall watching WW in the LL not so long ago, been on a free fall ever since. million dollar question is WHY? VOL are the same.

Any reasoning as to why Arniston will survive? Took a pumping at WW recently.

Yeah, I think they Arniston are a better-coached team and also with a better playing squad, Arniston also pumped Nitten recently too, it doesn't work like that.

Leith have improved because of the goal machine centre forward from Tranent. Maybe they spent "generously ".

Firstly, I believe that's a loan deal, Regardless, what a great bit of business that is for them, Good recruitment. That can save your season and your job.

Not sure about the students or Lochore.

Heriot Watt always seem to grind out results when the going gets tough, Beejay wont go down without a fight. Lochore have a few games in hand and still WW to play i believe, that could be a very interesting encounter.

Didn't noise me up just wondered where you got your info from?

I don't think they have anywhere near 33 players,I'm well aware every team has an injured list but WW been using 20s kids on the bench as well as on the park so defo not got 33 players.

I don't think they're in freefall and im realistic enough that whilst they may never see the LL ever again i think they are or at least minimum should be a bottom 6 premier top 6 1st division team.

The reasoning why they've dropped down the leagues has been done a few times on here wi a multitude of excuses.

My reasoning is a mixture of having to find funding for ground improvements (they own the park so more difficult to maintain) and the bigger supported junior clubs coming through the pyramid. When they were the only senior team in Midlothian they could attract players mainly with the attraction of the Scottish Cup. That carrot went long ago as more and more clubs got licensed which as I've stated before, both associations merging could only have been for the good of the game.

Didn't realise the Leith lad was on loan, I guess dropping down the leagues is another lad just wanting to play wi his mates as could play higher than the EoSFL div 1. Regardless, like you say that's a game changer for Leith.

Should be a good battle to avoid that 3rd relegation spot at the foot of the table.
WW have spent generously this year, I expected them to be much higher up the table, surely not another relegation on the cards for them.

I think Arniston will survive which is a positive after promotion last season to be staying in that league. Leith picked up a bit.
Between Heriot Watt / WW & Lochore.

Sorry we are not reading this in the same universe.  A Uni fan suggesting they should resign , hmm dont think so. Have you actually thought about what  the original post said ?

Still waiting to hear your opinion on the basic idea that two long standing  founding members of the Lowland League should voluntary resign , mid season,  why ?

Of course you wouldn't know anything about being longstanding in the Lowland League.

 gone all high and mighty again have we.

My opinion he is bang out of order,  how about you ?

He's the only Uni fan on here just saying how he feels ffs

That is about the most pathetic,  uncalled for, disrespectful comment ever on this forum.  Shame on you

Considering he's about the only person that's took an active interest in the Uni on here I think he's entitled to his opinion whether you think its pathetic, uncalled for, disrespectful or not.

  6. Bizarre game at Kirkcaldy today Arniston storm into a 3 0 lead before eventually being beaten 5 3.

Leith take advantage of ww s poorest performance for weeks to win 4 1.

It's tight for that 14th spot.

Am I right in thinking 4 could go down depending on what happens further up the pyramid?

Dunipace swatting aside St Andrews the day's interesting result... other members of top 5 all won; everybody in bottom 5 lost; those 6 between will be glad of points, helping keep heads above 14th.

Sorry to change the subject from trains/planes . I recall there being some discussion on here a while back about hotels and specifically Booking.com - was there a scam running or something?

Long story short I’ve had an email reportedly from my hotel via noreply@booking .com asking me to verify Credit card details within 24 hours or lose the booking of a hotel in Rotterdam . Now what is strange is that I have gone into my booking.com app and there are no messages in there requesting this information.

    Anybody else had this?

    Definate scam.

    I had this too.

    I rang booking.com for verification.

To be honest mateI'm not really a lager drinker myself. Drink John Smiths (had a few nice pints of that in the Leaping Salmon), or Newcastle Exhibition back in the day! My heart sank when I seen Fosters on draught as they would genuinely have been a complete waste of my beer token so I was pleasantly surprised when the nice lass begind the counter said Estrella was included in the deal as it's about the only lager I enjoy!

44 years? Wow that's very impressive and some dedication to the cause! Not sure what it was with Berwick the other week but I just got a really good feel about the place the moment I got there. My son plays for Gateshead Academy and gets 2 free season tickets but it's a pretty soulless place to watch football even though they've got a canny team and I just couldn't get into it at all. Tried a few Northern League games as well but again, just never really got the feel for it.

As I say I've got a bit of a void now I've as I've as good as been locked out at Newcastle and I'm the sort of person who needs to watch live football. I've always done it and just watching on the telly doesn't do it for me. Berwick looks like it's going to sort me out!

Hopefully catch up with you for a pint or 2 later in the season.

Wi a name like Wallsend surprised the likes of the Stan or Benfield couldn't entice ye closer to home. On saying that they're both well down the tiers.

Agree about Gateshead they need a proper ground not a Meadowbank type stadium which I can't see happening anytime soon.

Good luck following Berwick always a good day out there.

Trolled by a Whitehill Welfare fan about crowd levels. 😬

Get yourself over to the Cowden thread and we’ll give you what for. 🤣

To be fair, there was a very good crowd from Bo’ness on Saturday. However, as @cowdenbeathsaid our crowds have held up ok, I doubt if the crowds are much smaller than the last couple of years in division 2 (apart from the odd game with big away support like Kelty).  I must do some analysis some time.🧐

Was nae being arsey and hardly a troll thought it was a LL discussion thread.

Only going on what I was told by somebody at the match.

Games are won on the park not by the thousands of us experts on the sidelines.

If a team wi a shite support can sustain it on and off the park then good luck to them, there should nae be a problem.

Gretna and Ed Uni might be out there depth at minute but they will fall eventually.

That's what the pyramid is about though there should be more slots available for teams to pro/regress.

For the record there were decent crowds at Newtongrange v WW and WW v Arniston recently, maybes leagues should be regionalised at lower levels :P

Think most clubs would want Bankies up as they would bring a decent away support same with the Lok.

Out of interest what was your crowd on Saturday against one of the bigger supported teams in the league?

    Around 250 I heard.

I'd be more worried about the folk that have deserted Central Park.

Good win there on a tough day.

Although Nitten have played a few games more than the teams around them, they've got the points in the bag. With the recent postponements and the weather not even been that bad yet, I'd rather have the points than games in hand. Suspensions, injuries, playing 2-3 games per week, playing each other......it's gonna be a grand finale.

Nitten will need to up their game if they want promotion.

WW more than matched them on the park for long periods last Saturday. A couple of breaks mightve seen a different scoreline but sometimes when yer near the bottom luck is against you.

St Andrews scraped past WW wi a penalty the previous game.

    Small margins and aw that.

LNER are the best service in my limited experience of east coast travel. Cross Country isn't bad if it's quiet but there's nowhere near table spaces so it's cattle car when full.

You very much get what you pay for with Lumo - if it's comfortably the cheapest option then it's fine for a reasonable distance, but it's  a cattle car.

Unless you went 1st thing in the morning with LNER from Leeds then you would need to change trains at York.

Lumo also only run King's Cross to Edinburgh.

Cross country are every hour direct, like you state decent if quiet, that's why I recommend checking whether it's a single train or two joined together. That is a game changer.

Trans Pennine may well have a service direct from Leeds but would be very few if any. Otherwise again a change at York is required.

What has that got to do with the current football club?

    Clue - nothing.

Is it a totally different Edinburgh City to the one that got promoted out the LL like?

    15 minutes ago, Connor1874 said:

That's nothing to do with the football club. The Edinburgh City Social Club and the football club are 2 completely different entities. The whole FC Edinburgh debacle cast a light on that.

Shame was a decent club and done the hospitality after matches so would've thought was associated wi the club.

On a separate note their stovies were braw :chef

At least we won't be playing old pals Whitehill Welfare in the league for a couple of seasons at least. There's always a ray of sunshine..

Ha back to "we" supporting City again are we ?

Sad to see the club in such a state after the small band of committee and fans got you up from the lower leagues.

I hope there are better days ahead.

That’s the social club of the original football club from the 1920’s and 30’s. They gave the current club permission to become Edinburgh City but there’s no further connection than that.

What happened to the Baxter's Place Edinburgh City club money when it was sold?
