  1. The sets, acting, music, directing, camerawork and - for the most part - the writing on this show are fucking excellent. The addition of Adrian Brody as Luca Wits-his-face was a good shout. He looks perfect for a Sicilian gangster. Looks a bit like a giant-nosed Al Pacino. Does Tommy Shelby remind anyone else of Tony Soprano? He's kinda like this hard-core, potentially sociopathic gangster, who also has this decent side and has a lot of family values and shit. They seem very similar to me.
  2. The Brown vs Camacho fight is well worth a look. I don't want to spoil it but it had both the respect factor and violence that I absolutely love about MMA. I mostly agree though... if you've got fucking Bec Rawlings as your co-main event then you just urnae a good card m8.
  3. Definitely man. Like... I fucking love the Diaz brothers. How can you be a fan of MMA and not love these two guys? But if we're gonna talk about title shot worthiness then they've both punched well above their weight. I'll still watch the shit out of any fight they're in though. (Nick) Diaz vs. Daley is probably my favourite fight ever.
  4. I mean... do I hate the fight in the sense of when it comes to watching it that I'll not be interested? No. When it happens, for sure I'll watch. But this is another example of a Diaz getting a title shot when they actually don't deserve it. It happened all through Nick's career as well. Nate got destroyed by RDA (who now fights at 170) in Dec 2014 in honestly one of the most lopsided decisions I've ever seen. He beat Michael Johnson and looked good and then fought the 145 champion in McGregor twice at 170 and we all know how both those fights went down. Apparently this track record means you deserve a title shot at 170lb? Naw. No for me. Love the Diaz brothers and the way they fight but this just seems like a bit of bullshit. Give me RDA or Lawler or even Covington or someone against Woodley instead.
  5. I'd argue there should be more 10-10 rounds. Or, frankly doing away with the 10-point-must system altogether. It's not suited for MMA really imo and was just adopted because it was used in boxing.
  6. Dunno if I'm being an idiot here but are you sure that's no possible? If a round is a draw then it's 10-10 naw? Then 10-9 each direction in the other two rounds and that's a 29-29 scorecard?
  7. So that Dodson pish cost me £200. And I took a punt of £25 quid on Poirier in the 4th round @ 20/1. What a fucking disappointing evening. Hell of a fight though. One of the best I've ever seen easily.
  8. Props to Clay Guida for clearly being a decent c**t. I'm a big fan of Lauzon and he was just completely done after that right hand that landed behind his ear. Clay knew that and the referee fucked up. Clay really seemed like he didn't want to do any extra damage to Joe and I respect that.
  9. That's fucking shite. I had good money on Dodson in the Linekar fight and the judges robbed him there and here again he's fouled twice in a big way and then lost another decision. Dunno if I'm biased cause I had money on him but Dodson won that fight imo.
  10. Northcutt looked very good there. Wasn't a big fan of his hype train and I picked both Gall and Barberena against him but I thought he looked very talented there. It's easy to forget he's only 21. With 4 wins in the UFC. That's nothing to be scoffed at.

    The Wire

Aye... apparently the photocopier/lie detector thing was lifted from real life. You get the impression that a lot of The Wire is as well though. The Deuce isn't as good yet but I certainly loved that first season. The scene between Candy and Rodney is the finest scene I've seen for a long, long time.
  12. It's a deceptively good card tonight. Hadn't really been looking past 217 but this is actually a hell of a card for a Fight Night. Took Poirier, Dodson, Northcutt and Arlovski for about 20/1. Haven't really looked into it much, just for a bit of interest really.
  13. Can't argue with that aside from the fact I think Max vs. Aldo 2 is a much more exciting prospect than Max vs. Cub 2.
  14. I think the 10 year unbeaten run allows him a bit of grace. And for the McGregor fight to only go 13 seconds it must've really stung him man. Frankie Edgar gets title shots every second fight basically and let's not forget Aldo absolutely handled him at 200. Max beat him soundly and without any controversy. In fact, I remember thinking the fight should've been stopped a good minute or two before it was... but I think with Aldo's history he should get the opportunity at Max again.

    The Wire

You should check out David Simon's latest project, The Deuce. Has a very Wirey feel to it. I absolutely love it.
  16. They both beat Cub handily. Aldo deserved an instant rematch after the McGregor loss. Let him get it here, if he's truly up for it.
  17. Frankie Edgar out of 218. Aldo making the case for a rematch with Holloway on Twitter.
  18. Cheers lads. What a fucking sport though eh? I fucking love this shit.
  19. I tweeted a month ago or so that TJ, Cruz and Garbrant were three of the top ten fighters in the world. I stand by that comment. TJ is so, so fucking good.
  20. I'm basically printing at this moment.
  21. TJ is one of the best mixed martial artists in the world and Duane is an elite coach. This is as good as it gets.
  22. TJ is too good to be knocked out like that. He's criminally underrated.
  23. If TJ and GSP win I'm gonna make a lot of money.
