Your memory might be superior to mine then. I knew what his coach and them said after the fight about an injury and stuff but I can't remember him firing a single leg kick. I am more than open to the idea that I'm wrong though. Usually watch the big fight cards pished so my memory is hardly a beacon of reliability.

I ended up doing the Overeem, Alvarez and Aldo treble. Not got much faith in Aldo after that cut but I thought that after putting the bet out into the universe that I better put some fucking money on it.

Overeem fights very smart these days. I honestly think he's the pick of the night.

I dunno man. It's Jose Aldo. He won the first two rounds against Holloway. Although, in fairness at the end of round 2 Holloway started doing some fucking Karate Kid shit and clearly he was getting ready to win the fight. And then he did. I dunno if it's just nostalgia but I think it's criminal to count Jose Aldo out of a fight. Or, I did until that weight cut. Holloway might just destroy him, aye. I'm probably wrong.

I think Overeem is gonna fight a very smart fight against N'Gannou tomorrow. Overeem is a hard-core veteran with all the experience on his side and a very intelligent camp in Jackson's behind him. N'Gannou is obviously a powerhouse but he's only really beat Arlovski of note. Overeem has been doing this shit for 20 years. His chin is a worry, though. If N'Gannou touches him then it's done but all in all I like Overeem as an underdog here. Alvarez I like because as much as I love Gaethje his unbeaten run was really made in WSOF against nobodies basically and he got rocked like f**k nearly every time. Then he fights Johnson in what was a Fight of the year candidate - again almost getting finished several times. I mean... kudos to him for having the heart of a lion but it doesn't fill me with much confidence in regards to his chances against Eddie Alvarez. I could see Justin trying to implement his gameplan and Alvarez just wrestlefucking him and winning a decision. Aldo, I had good reasons to think he was a very worthwhile underdog. But... after that weight cut I'm not so sure. He had an awful cut against Hominick I think? And that ended up being one of his toughest fights during his reign so I might avoid him tomorrow. Might not also, I fucking love the added excitement of a decent bet on the fightin'

Why can't he come back against Holloway? I really like Aldo's price. I was wrong the last time they fought so I may well just be wrong again but I'd put it at a 50/50 fight... so Aldo's price is appealing.

See when you get these two alpha males who have legit back stories and never back down from anyone and they come together? That's good TV. Thats Tv done right. We were given the diet version when Tommy met Aberama and they went toe-to-toe. Tommy won that one. The meeting with Luca, Tommy was schooled. He's obviously gonna come back and Tommy Shelby it but I honestly think Aberama is the real antagonist here. Luca and his cronies are the very real and direct threat but - much like Littlefinger, actually - Aberama is gonna be the real threat imo.
