  1. I thot similar too, after all he was at Partick who although have kinda got their ship in order....i.e I am sure its been a long time since a player £1000+ a week there, so to hand Twaddle what I was told I think it was £75k or £80k a year contract which is sheer stupidity on the basis I didnt rate him first time and surely he was getting between £400 - £700 a week at thistle. We have been so mis-managed to allow stupid things like this happen over the last X years it finally has caught up with us... Ive bought my season ticket as per usual but I am losing grips to how shoddy the club has been operating that I am losing my zest for it....I will still be there 90% of the time but I was going to Inverurie/ Peterhead but got last gasp T in the Park tickets....seemed the better option, following week Ive arranged something for the Leeds game of which I could get out of but wont, It shows my feelings towards all things FFC at the moment..... I also think we will struggle to get 1000 for the upcoming Leeds game of which I should make the effort as I have lots of Leeds mates who will be up for the game.....I suppose I will save it for the Saturday game v Motherwell
  2. Id be surprised if we sign a left back and guess that Kingsley has his foot on the left back role.... A goalkeeper and those striker things should be higher up the list..... This season has got the 2001/02 written on it with the kids that are gonna be playing, below the team that played that last game of that season..... M. Hogarth, A. Lawrie, J. McQuilken, S. Rennie, G. Denham, K. Christie (I. Morris, 46), S. Craig (R. Waddell, 87), M. Kerr, L. Miller, G. McStay, P. Tano (A. Rodgers, 46) Subs not used: D. Hill, N. Murray
  3. All of which I have generally stated in a previous post...... I thought you had given up the ghost as far as Falkirk were concerned, toys pram etc.....?
  4. Aye Stainrod, Cadette and Stokes were horrible players to watch.......
  5. I still rate Ally Graham and Brendan McIntyre lower...... Skills are over rated ? ......I take you hated the recent Champions league final.......
  6. I sense another Charlie Adam scenario here......he will go for £2M soon....as Ive just drank my Vitamin C drink laced heavily with vodka after several beers in the sun in Portugal...... I cant believe he has got another full time gig, nevermind down south in league football and for 2yr...... He is one of these players tho that I dont really want to wish him well out of gratitude for his service to FFC as from day one I thot he was useless and one free kick goal against Hamilton and one MOM display against Stirling Albion doesnt hide that for me But good luck on a civil note, but shouldnt have been at our club last year at all.....cheers Eddie....
  7. Going back to the part time days till I had seen someone trap a ball like Stewart does....As far as I am concerned a full time player should have decent enough skills or the at least attempt to work on them, I have the same ignorance with players that cant even use their weaker foot.... If he does go down south in league two, he will come up against some bears in that league, there is a lot of long ball tatics used and he may do ok if he doesnt get broken and/if he doesnt have to come deep and collect the ball or play as a right midfielder, his touch is not as obvious playing in the more so in forward role and he maybe be ok and perform ala Showunmi at Tranmere and play to his strengths and play the ball in front of him or in the box and not let him think what he has to do.... I would love to keep him but I think it may have been yourself, share the same feeling that it has come that I feel disappointed that Mark Stewart is going......Him and McManus up top may have been a decent partnership St Mirren fans I know quite liked Wardlaw, pre to him being surplus...so their opinion may have changed....I cant recall seeing him to be honest, which tells me I cant comment, Witteveen seems like an awful player but simply is an old fashioned type forward who knows how to score...Im sure he has scored 3 or 4 against us and one with a 5 aside Stirling Albion team, dunno if that slags our defence or hypes up his ability to score tho....seemed to be blowing out his arse in that game later on and I dont think he had the bug that wiped out a Stirling Albion team.....Still would take him like I said I would last season, hindsight suggests he wouldve been better than giving Pedro another stay......
  8. Tranmere have played Showunmi to his strengths even though he scored a header for them..... The rest of the guys mentioned all can trap a ball dead.....the amount of times I have seen Stewart attempting to do that and the ball has raised above his head is beyond a joke, something that no matter who the manager is or players behind him can improve...As I think I said a very frustrating player at times, yep did well last season but that shows you how poor this 1st division has become I dont blame him for leaving, yep it seems to be for money and the worst case scenario is that he fails, makes his bank manager happy and will get a Scottish club again no problemo as it tends to be the norm for a player failing down south. I hope he does well, but I just cant see it......
  9. I will be very surprised if he is there longer more than one season.....and not because he will be sniffed up for a big transfer.... Yep he has pace but no brains.....skill wise isnt high either, the amount of times Ive seen him attempting to trap a ball and it rises to over his head is really not good enough. Yep play to his strengths which is pace to which he shouldnt have to trap a ball much but is a nearly man for me....he did surprise me on many occasions with his one on ones and scoring, but lets not forget the many games he had many one on ones and failed to score....I think Stirling Albion games he had around 4 in one game and scored 1.... I hope he does well as I do with most decent(ish) (added the ish for him) as I do with most ex FFC players that have given me satisfaction of watching and Stewart has done that, he was part of the lynch pin in formation with our escape from relegation playing wide and scoring against Hearts to win a game in the 90th min always deserves credit.... Good luck to him but feel Scotland is his level.......
  10. Bullen, McNamara and McCann.....I thot one of them would do a job and the other two would be on the injury table So hopefully with that opinion again Dodds may turn out ok, My memory is he was horrible at St Johnstone but solid when playing at DUFC As you say time will tell, hopefully he can organise our defence, last season it was a joke at times, we had to have a two goal cushion before we knew the points were safe and I am sure we lost a lot of goals straight after we scored, for such a defensive team at times, we had a poor defensive record..... Still piss up up north in July maybe the highlight this season.....
  11. He signed a long term contract when he was a fringe player and wasnt an automatic pick, ok it is Falkirk and daft wages seem to be easily got but I will be surprised if he is on a big wage considering when his contract was signed.. I was told via a good source that our average wage next season will be £20,000 regarding the playing field.....
  12. Tho in perspective Dodds v Potter isnt actually much of an arguement for Dodds case, Altho Dodds is a clever dirty bassa but time hasnt been kind to him over the last couple of seasons on an injury front.... Potter I think will stay in the SPL if as stated in press that he has offers...... As much as those 3 would be welcome in most folks eyes, I would like to see fresh blood....easier said than done tho......
  13. Albufeira ? Im heading there next week and all the footballers tend to be way northern of Albufeira.....
  14. Havent you also signed Tahouil from Killie.... Darren Barr on loan, I expect and A.NOTHER....if true.... Jeffries didnt sign Barr and obviously doesnt fancy him, tho I did say when he left he would struggle to get a game and I am sure Hearts have signed or signing Aberdeen Celic Jaikey Zander Diamond which will put Barr further down the pecking order, mind you I am sure he played laterly after our game in Sept most of his games at right back added to I think Hearts playing players out of position at centre half with Barr on the bench I think tells its own story, Barr would be a welcome addition in the first division as we dont have anyone to play alongside Scobbie currently.... £50 or 57k will be a disappointing figure but come next Jan = £20k + or May = zero.....I would say tho that all of our players currently are for sale £50k......
  15. Was it a Scotland cap tho ( yep I know it was) But....Burley manager and I imagine it will be his one and only.....Barr had one good first season for me and never even got near to that level again, closest he got to it was when it was announced he was signing for Hearts Arfield I can see more tho, yep record transfer from Academy, first pick in the u21 Scotland (I know means nothing other than it may sway English clubs to spend more) and he was a real driving force in the great escape Scobbie scored the first......we didnt need the second..... ..... As I say perhaps I am being cynical about the modern day footballer, both players are great athletes and perhaps I also have skill and personallity in my way of thinking too
  16. Perhaps being cynical on the modern footballer types but for me Barr or Arfield shouldnt be up there.... Im not poo pooing the murals that look great from the photos
  17. Krul run of games wouldve also been against the old firm etc.....Boabs stats wouldve included playing against bottom 6 again in 5 of the 13...decent stats but stats can always be bent towards looking good Cheaper and better goalies out there......I said way back when he was a FFC loanee, he was never really tested and flattered to look better than he was....he has since went from club to club and flapped around here there and everywhere.....
  18. His kicking leaves a lot to be desired more than his goalkeeping for me, gone are the days when it was deemed ok for a goalie not to be able to kick the ball in the park Ive heard we are trying to keep him ala same scenario as McManus and obviously likewise on reduced terms, I dont think he will be short on offers to be honest but at probably a wage we can compete with and he may not be first choice with the clubs that maybe interested in him For me he is probably the best keeper that was ours for more than six months (Mallo) since Glennon, we seriously have had some howlers in the goal in the last 10yr which a lot of folk forget
  19. Also Yogi didnt rate Barclay......so maybe we shouldve kept him as per his record of recognising goalkeepers.... Still strange, Shire fans I spoke to tonite at the 5s thot both were decent keepers, tho shaded towards Andrews, he has had plenty of practice I suppose..... Yep we have been needed a wipe out for a good couple of seasons, this season proved that some of our so called stars have had their pipe and slippers on for too long...... I do shudder to think what Elvis will bring in, I know money is tight but if we are to get more season tickets in, we will need to sign up a big player who will put bums on seats......and/or even just a couple of decent pedigree of clubs players on loan for the season....easy stating these but finding them a lot harder..... 10 of those 18 I am sure never started a league game for us, 11 of the 18 were academy players and you could say four of the 18 were automatic starts if fit.....in McManus & Finnigan that being the case.... We will have 7 out of the 16 that were listed in the last Falkirk v Raith game and one of those has fell out with the manager..... Of course we are not alone, the free lists swirling around in the 1st division is alarming if you are a two bob bit player an this is your level.......still onwards and perhaps sideyways.......
  20. * - I wouldnt mind If we kept them % - get them playing now playing for a contract $ - Keep if Barclay aint up to it I dont know if we can get Bloom back or his loan is up pre the season ending but I would get him there now, he cant be worse than Twaddle whom I am sure he has another year, I do recall it was a three year deal of which I am sure it was rumoured that the fee to Partick was getting paid in yearly installments I cant see Pedro staying, tho stranger things have happened even tho he hasnt been firing all cylinders this time so far I wouldnt mind him getting a pre season and starting as our main striker, McManus deal with a one year and keep him hungry, Stewart whom has me pulling my hair out....yesterday but still is passable at this level and I cant see McLean sticking around As I have said elsewhere, we need a complete clear out, its a pity we cant get rid of some the contracted players so easily tho...
  21. Old Falkirk.....but being a Tranmere fan, I told the fans that he is the 2nd worse striker I have seen at Falkirk.....tho I offered a glimmer of hope that if they worked his power and pace......I dunno if they took my advice.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/t/tranmere_rovers/9399187.stm
  22. Same quote was used with Pedro...... But more chance of us signing Adrian Mutu and thank Fuk.....
  23. Taking Stirling out of the equation, we havent scored in our last 4 league games..... Do we have a striker who can collect the ball and run with it or beat a man and shoot...... In my opinion If signed and stays fit, he will finish our top goal scorer, not a mariginal impact for me....
  24. On one hand you are pointing that he is a good player, on the other you dont see the point and question why.... When Falkirk sign good players, I want to go and see them may it be in a reserve game or even at one of the old firm grounds which I dont usually travel to I wouldnt use flock, but it would bring a few supporters in and a few may torture themselves again if he were signed on for Saturday... If signed, he would in my opinion become the best striker at the club and is a fairly good team player which would improve an area of the team and he copes better in these winter(ish) surfaces better than our other hope in the team in Flynn, who has vanished in 2011
