  1. Our defence have been very good at stopping the opposition for most of the season, but last night they displayed a negative attitude that ultimately destroyed any momentum we were trying to build. We started positively with good forward runs being made by Holt, Grisham and McMann that forced Raith backward and created openings for our forwards. If this had continued, we would have probably gone on to win. Instead, after losing a goal, they started to pass sideways and backwards more and more, encouraging Raith to be more positive. Add to this, Goodwin's removal of Wotherspoon, who was actively looking to play defence opening passes, and we became more and more toothless as the game went on. This was an avoidable defeat.
  2. Misread this and thought it was Mulgrew in his Celtic kit. He is still messing with my mind.
  3. I have done pocket phone calls before, but pocket posting on a football forum is a first.

  5. After about 25 minutes United started to delay the ball going into the box. This led to the forwards delaying their runs into the box and killed off United's early momentum.
  6. Watt annoys me too, but I think I was more annoyed by Derek McInnes and his regular disappearances whenever games became difficult.
  7. The substitutions did not improve United tonight. They led to us losing the midfield without adding any creativity in and around the box. Queens Park dealt well with the long ball out wide/over the top/through the middle, but United didn't seem to have a plan B.
  8. It has its own version of Laurencekirk, which is nice and a museum dedicated to that famous Alkmaar band, The Beatles.
  9. Records upstairs. I never pinched anything from their apart from an advertising poster for a Smiths' single. I didn't get caught despite looking very suspicious.
  10. The responses seem to confirm my thoughts about a culture of negativity at Tannadice regarding playing on artificial pitches. This has been happening for a few seasons now and has seen United have a lot of poor results on them. On the other hand, we have also had a lot of poor results on grass.
  11. Do teams with artificial pitches pick up more injuries than teams with grass pitches? Jim Goodwin's worries about Moult playing on an artificial surface would suggest that there are more risks involved in playing on them. If your home pitch is artificial, that would suggest that your squad are going to be at more risk. Or is it just the case that United have had a fear of artificial pitches for many seasons now? We seem to try and build in excuses in our preparations for these matches.
  12. I genuinely had no idea. Apologies to Mediocre Pundit for calling him/her silly.
