The Partick Thistle thread
Pie Of The Month replied to South Lanarkshire Jag's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
He's definitely still at the club and playing for the u20s. How well he is doing I have no idea, SLJ gets to most of the u20 games so he'd be the best to say how anyone at that level are doing. -

With the position he plays and the number of set pieces he takes the very least we could expect for him is to be in the top couple of players in our team for assists. Out of our attacking players only Lawless, Higginbotham and Stevenson have started over 20 league games so it's no major surprise he's up there despite being nowhere near as good as he can be. Who else realistically in our squad did people expect to be ahead of him? Arguably it's only Stevenson and at a push O'Donnell but even then he'd be slaughtered if we were getting more creativity from a full back than him. Higgy has essentially been on a 1 year deal for this entire season since he's out of contract in the summer, it hasn't motivated him to perform anywhere near the level of the last few months of last season. I'm beginning to conclude that the average performances of this season are the real Higginbotham rather than the ones last season. I also don't really buy Lawless' claims about 1 year deals. He wants to be available for a much bigger deal if he plays out of his skin and gets interest from elsewhere knowing that unless he has an absolute shocker he'll probably get to stay. I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign a longer deal here or elsewhere in the future if it's a good enough offer. -

He signed a 2 year deal last summer. Depending on who stays and who goes I'd think he might go out on loan to a Championship club. It was strange he went to Airdrie after having done well enough with Alloa the season before unless the club just couldn't find anyone at that level who were willing to play him. -

In. Lawless and Balatoni signed up and then Taylor are the priorities for me. Hoping we can sort the right back situation once O'Donnell goes quicker than we did with lelft back this season as based on the last couple of months if we can keep the other 3 and keep a settled back 4 we can continue to look solid. -

Does anyone know if we'll be allowed in the bar at the stadium tomorrow? I noticed on the Premier League forum some mention that Hibs fans were the other week .

How does it work for away fans now? Just behind the goals these days? I'd already booked the train so glad it's staying 3pm Saturday for our first away game. It just won't be the same without the terracing and Chris Erskine. -

The confirmation should be fine, the same was said with McMillan coming to Thistle and it was sorted the same day. -

It's £20 if you want one without Jim Jefferies in it. -

Thistle have ours on modern apprenticeships which means the wages are tiny. I think the minimum is around £3-4 an hour, much less than the proper minimum wage. -

That might be true. I think there's been a couple of free transfers to Scotland from the English leagues where compensation would've been due but due to some cross border loophole it didn't need to be paid. Joe Ledley from Cardiff to Celtic rings a bell regarding this daft rule. -

Are you lot still training at Glasgow Green next season? Our official site has announced we're using the facilities down there along with securing indoor facilities for when the weather is terrible and was just wondering if it's big enough down there for us to share or whether Queens are going elsewhere. -

It won't be the first time he's talking guff to be quite honest. This is the laying of the foundations for us going part time. -

http://sport.scotsman.com/football/Partick-Thistle-could--be.6513093.jp? Can any Raith Rovers fan please confirm our chairman is talking shite when he says this regarding your part time/full time status... "Look at Raith Rovers, who are deservedly sitting at the top of the league just now. I think they have only nine full-time players, with the rest part-time." -

At an interview today my girlfriend, who has an Irish surname, was asked if she was out drowning her sorrows after yesterday's result. What a strange place Glasgow is that your surname apparently determines who you support. -

I was about to post in this thread I hated Rangers but didn't really care much about Celtic. My girlfriend sitting next to me laughed as if to say "aye right." -

There's an announcement on Tuesday at King Tuts so I imagine they'll be on sale next Friday.

Cancelled. The lecturer just didn't turn up, which no doubt means they'll have us in at 9am some other day for this lecture since they did the same last semester. It at least means I have a bit of time to do other work which I was planning on doing tonight.
