In accordance with long held tradition (old firm not withstanding) the gentlemen players of the Elgin City Association Football Club might see it fitting that they mark the event . . . . . .
That what you were looking for?

What a season, didn’t see it coming but I guess that’s how it goes at our level - right manager and a group of players that gel come along and it happens.
Great day and night yesterday Been telling myself I don’t care what we do next season if we win this but I’m sure that will change when the first game kicks off.
Thanks to supporters of other clubs for their generous posts

That was when we had Colin Cramb on our books. Fantastic player but ‘something of a disruptive presence in the dressing room’ - shall we say, being euphemistic and leaving it there.
Cramb and McGrillen were scoring bucket loads of goals then we signed Easy Stirlingshire’s Iain/ian Diack and it became a top heavy confection.. I’m sure Diack was a decent player but for some reason, when he joined us it was like he had never seen a football before. We should have left it as it was.
Because we were riding high mid season I forced my brother and his mate to go to Hampden on Boxing Day to see us lose to Queens Park on a cold and misty day and our demise could be tracked from that very afternoon. After that I didn’t think we would ever win a league title. My brother goes to a warriors game once every 5 years and we always lose. He has been kept away all year this time round.
This team is better but not as easy on the eye - there were some great performances in that top notch half season.

Maybe those dropped in the last game will be fresher and have points to prove? Hope so.
Has Taylor’s red card several weeks ago influenced managers thinking?

Any news on nicky jamieson (for very obvious reasons)?
Jacobs at right back was a head scratcher
lynch got a knock or just not trusted? He didn’t get a great press from others when we signed him but results with him in the team have been good
stirling got a knock or just not fancied?

Whats up with meechan and Jamieson?
saw Stirling subbed very early - injury I’m guessing what are options for next time if none of them are back?

So what is the procedure for deciding the date of a replay?
what if stenhousemuir went in a huff about not playing on Saturday and said no to the Tuesday that has been and set (and then Elgin decided to be difficult etc etc)
it doesn’t seem like the league are in charge or not prepared to enforce the most sensible solution

5 a side then?
are trialists allowed in this competition or is it the old viaplay cup handicap system again?
are these 3 amateurs even at the club now - after their non appearance on the bench lately?
regarding our difficulty expanding the squad - is the manager not a fan of loans or are teams from higher leagues changing their practices for loaning out?

You really got me with that part, Ray Davies is a well respected man.
Yeah, he wrote that great song: Ochilview sunset
Bet you can’t sleep at night after reading this thread. Kinky

It’s a typo. You have to dance the slosh to gain entry. They are mad for sequence dances in that part of the world. Fishermen used to do it before setting out to sea. It’s called line dancing because it was meant to bless the fishing lines

Shiels signed for Dumbarton - more local to him and he is keen to play as winger, which they are allowing. As we know, we were looking at him for left back
Anybody know who the other player is/was?

What would be the point of having folk there that we're never going to put on? We had a keeper, defender, midfielder and striker on the bench. Not ideal but there's no point in just filling it up for the sake of it
So what happens if there are 2 or even 3 injuries to defenders in the match - why not have Aaron Reid on the bench ready to come on if needs be? Do teams in the champions league have 1 defender, 1 midfielder, 1 forward on the bench? Signing amateurs and not putting them on the bench is a waste of time. Robs them of a chance of finding a pro contract, deny ourself an extra insurance against injury during the match. Costs us nothing financially. Daft imo

Why didn’t we stick the 3 amateurs on the bench today? Serious question

Slight diversion from the football debate - as I tuned in to sky tv, seeing the teams walk out - I was very surprised to see 2 teams sporting blue shorts and blue socks as well as vertical striped shirts, both featuring blue. I thought the powers that be were demanding ever more contrasting strips. Am I wrong?

4 men on the bench for stenhousemuir according to bbc, spfl matchcentre.
Nightmare. Have the 3 amateurs gone?0 -
Share these concerns but also hoping it’s not a year too far for Nat Wedderburn

Suppose it’s flattering but in recent years folks keep placing stenhousemuir high in the predictions and we fail to produce. One of these years they will be right I hope
