  1. Let's face it, it's going to be close to 30 degrees in Germany in June. You're going to be sweating like f**k no matter what you wear.
  2. The bulb was suspiciously big, so I reckon it was from DH Gate
  3. Before that 150th anniversary Scotland vs England game, I was walking down to Hampden with all the crowds, and there was this roaster walking backwards, pointing at people's tops and shouting "real, real, real, FAKE!", apparently because the fake ones can be spotted by the slightly larger badges. He correctly shamed me for saving the thick end of £100. I felt broken, worthless. Quite a satisfying ending to the tale though cos when he turned to face forwards again he walked straight into a lamp post.
  4. I think that it has to be Fraser, for all the reasons stated. He's tried, tested, albeit - unfortunately - tainted, but the former two things, plus his positional versatility, put him ahead of any other candidate. And all that is compounded by our manager's general preference for going with known quantities.
  5. Cheers for that. Not great but better than nothing. If needs must those minutes will stand him in reasonable stead.
  6. Game time looks decent according to this - 21 appearances this season: https://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=131142 Not sure how many of those are 2 mins at the end of games tho.
  7. For years on here people used to poo-poo that thinking. "Aw aye, having more caps makes you a better footballer, does it?" Actually yes, it does - in a collective sense as you describe.
  8. I actually buy your underlying point. Why cheapen it with a silly little emoji and a personal dig? The stoic mask is quite slippy, it seems
  9. Nice article exploring Bologna's success this season, and LF's part in it: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68792661
  10. Sure, but with respect to the here and now - as in, the next few months running up to the end of the season and the Euros - he is and will continue to be fairly heavily involved with his club side, not "bombed out" as some are claiming on here.
  11. Surely, yes. Still doesn't mean Dykes is done there
  12. Wasn't saying it was something to celebrate, was just pointing out that the "Dykes is finished at QPR" narrative is nonsense.
  13. It's a shame Dykes is out of favour/finished/pish at QPR. Hell just have to console himself with his start up front tonight Vs Plymouth.
  14. It was Callum Davidson, Paul.Gallacher, Darren Young and Mark Burchill. (Donnelly was part of the full squad) Definitely an opportunity to do similar again and one that I hope SC takes.
  15. Quite happy for you to have opinions. Was just trying to help you out a bit with what looked like paradoxical logic within one of them.
  16. Not quite. Confidence, being a psychological trait, is inherently intangible - you can't pick up and sniff a packet of confidence (okay, maybe in certain nightclubs). I think the point you were trying to make is that it's unquantifiable. But then, IIRC, you were quite hard-line that unlike fans, players didn't experience confidence wobbles at all (which seemed odd to me as that's basically quantifying the unquantifiable?).
  17. The manager and players aren't human though, they're superhuman! They never waver in confidence, not even a tiny bit, even after a long winless run. Isn't that right?
  18. Robbo got 30 mins from the bench tonight and an assist for good measure. All is well with our captain, fortunately!
  19. Start him up top Vs Germany so Clarke can get a look at him.
  20. I don't disagree, but at the same time it's worrying how hard we tried in last night's game - tried and completely failed. It wasn't like we were passing it about with a 'who cares' attitude. That was largely our first XI, bursting a gut, and we came up well short.
  21. More due to the reality that there really isn't anyone beyond the current squad really making a case to get in.
  22. Reflections on the game a few days later: Pros: -we played out of our skins for 60/70 mins, largely keeping the Dutch quiet -we created a bucket load of clear cut chances Cons: -we failed to take a single one of those chances, a few of which were sitters -we capitulated systematically when we tried to change things up personnel wise I'm thinking that if you magically fix both of the "cons", we win that game something like 3-1 Fix either of the "cons" and you come away with a high or low scoring draw, or possibly a narrow defeat. Those two things are pretty important lessons, delivered at the right time (okay I know it's getting close to the tourney). The pros, on the other hand are something we should take heart in. Playing really well and dominating against a top 6 ranked team for large spells, plus creating hunners of chances, is not something you could have said of many Scotland sides of the last few decades. The 4-0 made it feel like a doing, similar to the Russia game early on in Clarke's tenure, but the two games were very different.
