  1. Definitely looked like it, certainly wasn't going anywhere near full speed when it went past.
  2. Train company SNCF want the riders prosecuted for failing to stop when the barriers came down. Race organisers are saying that the riders did nothing wrong as they were only 10 metres away when they came down and could not have stopped safely, but as can be seen on the video there were plenty who did stop then dodged their way around the barriers. So this could run for a bit yet! The race was about 10 minutes ahead of schedule at that point as they had been riding with a strong tailwind.
  3. Enjoyed Paris-Roubaix this afternoon, John Degenkolb becoming only the third man to win it and Milan-San Remo in the same year. Brutal as ever, with the added peril of the peloton being split in two by a level crossing barrier coming down and a few riders playing chicken with a TGV! Wiggins was 18th, Luke Rowe was 8th while Geraint Thomas had a very hard day at the office with an early puncture then a very heavy crash later on.
  4. Glasgow Warriors retained their Melrose Sevens title, but had to come from behind to see off a very good German national side in the final.
  5. Superb first half going in 29-3 up, they then went 36-3 up but have allowed Cardiff a couple of fairly cheap tries and it's now 36-17 with over 10 minutes left.
  6. Same for me, growing up in the 80s he was the voice of cricket in the same way that Bill McLaren was the voice of rugby. RIP.
  7. Yep, saw the highlights this morning. Looked very strong yesterday with just the two men out in front in the latter stages, never in doubt that he was going to win the sprint.
  8. Watching the Houston Open, "fans" who shout "mashed potatoes" should be lined up in front of a firing squad imo. Does anyone else listen to the @bythemingolf podcast? They've always been good with guests including Paul Lawrie and Chubby Chandler, but the last two with Tom Callahan and Hank Haney have been simply superb, brilliant insight into Tiger and his various travails of the last few years.
  9. He'll still win far more games than he loses, but at the moment he is miles behind Djokovic. First set could have gone either way, played very well in the second then absolutely fell apart in the third. Still a very good start to the year though and Murray is in much better shape than he was this time last year.
  10. Very comfortable I thought, pretty much in control from start to finish, excellent to see at this stage of the season. Hopefully he can keep that up in the final.
  11. Kim was spotted with a copy of the latest Viz Profanisaurus, must be doing a bit of pre match swatting up. :-D
  12. Al Kellock will retire in the summer after 9 years as captain at Glasgow Warriors. He's been a huge part of the Warriors success.
  13. Berdych won in straight sets, so it's the first meeting for Murray and him since the Aussie Open semi final.
  14. Glasgow have revealed Mike Blair as the latest new recruit for next season. Tim Visser is leaving Edinburgh to join Harlequins.
  15. Yep, really dragged themselves off the floor to get back level after that onslaught by Leinster. Hope none of the injuries are too serious.
  16. Warriors are 27-7 ahead at the RDS against Leinster at half time. Injuries are piling up though so hopefully they can hang on for the win.
  17. Just a pity all 4 quarter finals ended up one sided. Well worth catching the highlights tonight if you missed it, some tremendous hitting.
  18. Absolutely breathtakingly innings, just went bonkers as they had the wickets in hand, 137 from his last 52 balls.
  19. Pakistan out for 213, all 10 wickets were taken by catches.
  20. No sooner had I posted this morning that Bangladesh had started their reply well they lost 2 quick wickets and it was downhill quickly after that.
  21. Today's game is building nicely. Bangladesh bowled brilliantly to keep India down to 302-6 and have started their reply well at 32 without loss from 6 overs.
  22. Murray wins 6-3, 6-3, Nishikori loses to Lopez in straight sets which gives Murray a little bit of daylight in the rankings.
