  1. Probably, some absolutely snorting balls from the spinners. Stokes batted last but his movement was obviously hindered by his injury.
  2. England slide to 306 all out, a lead of 72. Disappointing but predictable loss of the last 6 wickets for 80 odd runs.
  3. I've never been convinced that Kaepernick is worth all the hype, but I don't believe that he is as bad as he has looked this season. The O line is just dreadful, both in terms of running plays and pass protection. One area where he has gone wrong is that he no longer seems to want to run the ball himself, even when there is space he won't go for it.
  4. Hayne back in the 49ers practice squad.
  5. Got 5, knew 3. Didn't actually know which play was written by the guy in the question but knew who had written 3 of the options, so got that one by process of elimination and one lucky guess.
  6. In other thrilling news, the 49ers have signed RB Shaun Draughan. Whoop de fecking doo.
  7. Last year and this year they have hardly thrown the ball to him, they now seem determined to make a big push for number one draft pick.Edit to add: Bizarre timing again when the other TE Celek is still undergoing assessments for concussion and could miss next week's game. I know the trade deadline is looming but letting Davis go just reinforces the opinion that they have flung in the towel.
  8. I see the loathsome c*** that is Steve Williams has a book out, in which he claims that Tiger treated him like a slave when he worked for him. The highest paid slave in history no doubt, earning around $9 million when he was carrying his bag for him.
  9. Not quite. Last few years had the foundation of a strong defense, which was obliterated this year with the bulk of the starters leaving one way or other. Now that they can't rely on limiting the opposition's score the offense is under more pressure than before to perform and the QB has been well and truly found out. And the head coach inspires zero confidence whatsoever.
  10. Pakistan ended on 234 all out, England survived the last couple of overs to be 4 without loss at the close.
  11. Broad went 48 consecutive balls without conceding a run, decent effort.
  12. England go with 3 spinners with Patel and Taylor coming in for Wood and Buttler. Pakistan lose their traditional two early wickets and are 87-2 at lunch.
  13. Tbh, any wins at all is an improvement, I would hope we can manage two.
  14. Things you learn from watching Monday night football on ESPN rather than Sky. Luke McCown will do almost anything for money.
  15. Yep, everybody except the wicketkeeper had a bowl, Southee only bowled 3 overs. It was so bad that when they took the second new ball it was actually ripping chunks out of the pitch.
  16. The pitch must have been a shocker as NZ felt that practicing in the nets would be more beneficial than playing out the match.
  17. Seems O'Brien wanted to cut him as soon as he missed the flight but was over ruled by The GM.
  18. Jim Bob Cooter takes over as OC, a candidate for the most American sounding name thread in GN.
  19. I was Secretary of a bowling club for a while and we had a £50 joining fee, although that did include a few things like the club tie, blazer badge etc. Trying to reduce it was a nightmare as a lot of the members attitude was exactly that, "I paid it, every other bugger can pay it too!"
  20. Yep, numbers 8-11 did a great job but you can't look to the tail to save you.
  21. 9 down, Wood managing to see off 95 balls for his 29. Down to Anderson and Rashid now.
  22. Terrific knock, even more so in the circumstances. England still hanging on, down to 17 overs to go with 2 wickets in hand.
  23. England are 361 runs behind at the close with 7 wickets in hand. Excellent innings from Root, he has to stay there all day tomorrow for England to have a chance. Not really sure that Bairstow can hang about, he was like a rabbit in the headlights at times there.
  24. Ali won't make an opener imo, just doesn't have enough patience for it. Much better in the middle order with the older ball, as you say he was excellent there and was consistently scoring decent runs. The lack of another opener to partner Cook is causing problems, the usual suspects will be calling for Root to be moved there again, which would be another bad move.
  25. Cook gone as well, didn't look right this morning at all.
