  1. It is very rare for him not to appear for Southampton - when games are tight he generally always comes on if not starting. There was a BBC podcast today about the Southampton players which is worth a listen. I can’t see anyone else that offers what he does to replace Ferguson in the 23. He seems to be impactful as an impact win especially, and we know he has worked well with Dykes previously. We have no other attacking players that can provide an injection of pace and directness across the forward positions. He can also come on at RWB to add to our attacking options if we are losing, or come on higher up the park to help us play on the counter if we are winning. He also allows us to change system to incorporate wide players if necessary.
  2. Two so far… I don’t even think there’s much of a debate as to who should be our first choice striker right now.
  3. I don’t even think there’s a debate if we replace Ferguson with an attacking midfielder - I can’t see how anyone else makes any kind of sense in front of Ryan Fraser.
  4. I think potentially being left with only Anthony Ralston as a right wing back would be a loss tbh.
  5. Patterson off with what appears to be a hamstring injury - what a fucking day!
  6. Yeah - he was very close to starting and would have played a part so ruins some of our top quality depth too.
  7. It’ll need to be good then, or they’ll be in for a bit of criticism! It can’t be any worse than the current system though, so they don’t have much to do to improve on it.
  8. Confirmed - needs an operation on his cruciate ligament. Absolutely devastated for him - probably puts his big move on hold too.
  9. Still don’t understand why you stop being a child when you hit 13 years old - utterly bizarre.
  10. I can’t remember there ever not being an early bird discount!
  11. Seven goals and sixteen assists last season says otherwise. He is a fantastic player at this level.
  12. Nisbet has more league goals than Dykes this season…
  13. There is also the Stephen Kelly situation too, depending on the Livingston financial situation. Kelly > Turner > McInroy for me but I would love any of the three! I couldn’t tell you enough about Telfer tbh!
  14. IMO, it’s just the usual lazy arguments you get about central midfielders. I would be happy with him starting next to a deeper ball playing style central midfielder, as I think it would complement him well. Ideally with an actual attacking midfielder in front too - there could be a few available with McInroy released and Turner well out of the picture at Ross County.
  15. Absolutely - they turned the game, strangely not a word about it up against their 100 million man…
  16. I’m sure we had this discussion before, and the circus was in the car park…
  17. A full season out of Chalmers and I think he gets you twelve to fifteen goals… especially in a better team. A goal every 200 minutes this season.
  18. Someone would have had to pay a fee though. That is a myth too, Chalmers doesn’t have a free role. He has also came into a Brown side, and scored two goals in 140 minutes. He will obviously give the ball away more than someone like Bryden as he tries things. If we don’t keep him then there obviously needs to be a middle ground as opposed to playing a skinny Cameron Salkeld out wide.
  19. He has been contracted to Dundee United who haven’t looked to use him, this summer is his first chance to achieve that really. IMO, every team in this league next season would be interested in signing him if they could. Outside Fotheringham, he is now the top scoring midfielder in the league btw.
  20. I mean he isn’t wrong in terms of what Musonda can offer - a centre half partnership of him and Stanger has the potential to be excellent. The issue obviously being how often you would see them playing together.
  21. I suppose the one thing going for Sanders is that he is relatively young for a centre half - he has only just turned 25 and has not played a lot of football so there should be lots of development in him. There is definitely something there - he can look good on the ball and be dominant. We have just seen too much of the other side of him.
  22. I wouldn’t really care if an opposition player did it. The only person with explaining to do is Willoughby, if he decided for himself that he was taking penalties off of Murphy or Dowds. Anyway, who cares really - we won 5-0 and should be okay from here!
  23. If Willoughby was trying to remove someone like Murphy from penalties, then he deserved shit for it - I don’t think Sanders can be blamed for that. Murphy has achieved more in his career over a few games than Willoughby has throughout his career. He fronted up and scored though, so fair play and it didn’t become an issue. Logan Chalmers now has NINE goals and four assists in twenty starts and four sub appearances. I genuinely think he would need to score a goal a game for some people to admit he contributes excellently at this level. His return this season has been fantastic.
  24. Murphy is always our taker so I didn’t particularly understand how he didn’t take either!
  25. Ahh okay, sure the post had said emails would be sent out last night!
