Holiday companies and flights up 600%. Really hope that the dates go ahead as planned. I expect pubs and cafes will order stock in anticipation for opening and to not be left behind others.

If another lockdown happens then most of these businesses will just say f**k it and do something else. This smacks of Christmas where people were allowed to spend when there was a danger of further restrictions.

There is literally no comparison whatsoever to Christmas.

It will be summer and the majority of the country will be vaccinated by the time there is any major restriction lifting.

So from the Bozo briefing. Schools are safe and transmission amongst pupils is minimal. Teachers are no more at risk than any other profession. Imagine if the likes of Swinney came away with stuff like that.....

There could well be an ongoing need for masks and SD every winter so measures in the bin by June is already err.... in the bin and absolutely no mention of a return to work despite being asked specifically twice..the work from home edict remains beyond his June nirvana !

As always the devil is in the detail. It's a good move to accept we need to live with it and ZC isn't feasible but behind the big populist headlines there were plenty glaring contradictions. There were even still references to new normal !

Swinney has literally explicitly stated most, if not all of that.

I agree with you (for once!). Its being portrayed as cautious, but for me its quite the opposite.

NS said today hers would be broadly similar, but I'd be utterly amazed if its even  close.

To be similar she'll need to A) bin zero-covid B) allow fans to stadiums in significant numbers C) end social distancing (if thats what 'ending legal limits on social contact' actually means). I genuinely don't beleive she'd do any of that this calendar year.

Is 25% capacity really a significant crowd?!

It has to be a departure from the hopeless 4-2-3-1 ? He must be looking at simplification for the short term . If there is no loan coming in then let’s give McKenzie his chance leading the line with either Smith or McCowan beside him in a 4-4-2 .

Based on the zero goals he has scored for us, or? Young players need to earn a run of games when they come on and he hasn’t done that yet.

Definitely sensing some proper resentment building up in terms of lockdown now. Be interesting how that develops over the coming weeks as all the vulnerable are vaccinated.

In terms of the numbers, there is definitely some lockdown fatigue creeping in now. Parts of Scotland basically been in lockdown for five months. SG are clueless if they don’t expect that - people can’t live this way for such a long length of time. The messaging that it could continue for a further two months certainly doesn’t help.

    #enoughisenough ?

Noticed that earlier, partially but more generally on social media seeing quite a big swing in terms of how people are viewing things now we are a decent bit into the vaccination programme. Anecdotally as well, I don’t really know anyone who isn’t baffled by the current overwhelmingly negative rhetoric.

A lot of people are reporting significant effects after receiving the vaccine.    It’s all just a result of the immune system kicking in to fight the perceived threat,  but I do worry that some will not recognise that and we’ll see a fair amount of refusals of a second dose from those fearing the effects of their first dose.    I would be interested to see if the NHS/gov have plans to counteract that and encourage people to receive their 2nd dose.

My experience was pretty awful, however apparently worse after having covid!

Not exactly looking forward to the second dose.

Given the guy is on the SG’s Covid advisory group, we should give it some credence. After all, we keep getting told that Devi and Leitch are “dangerous” as they are advising the SG. So is this guy.

You can’t have your cake and eat it.

    That's bang out of order.

The guy posted that he had been ill for quite a while and you are basically telling him it's nothing and that the severity of illness he has suffered is insignificant enough for it to be proof that we should be opening back up. Arsehole behaviour.

It may be harsh, but do you genuinely think we should be locked inside the house in case people get post viral fatigue. Will also be interesting if the vaccine helps with this too.

  9. Just to balance up the Drakeford comments, there also appears to be quotes from him saying personal services and non essential retail could reopen in three weeks as well as certain types of staycations for Easter.

Given their infection levels are pretty similar to ours it will be very interesting to see how that develops.

I'm just going to keep telling myself that this is all just to keep people sticking to the restrictions for the time being.

The thought of another year of this pish makes me want to take a bath with the toaster.

I honestly just don’t understand that type of messaging.

Who could possibly be sitting thinking that this is going to go on for the entire year and that is going to encourage them to continue strictly following restrictions.

South Ayrshire will definitely not get into a lower level than North Ayrshire.

North Ayrshire was in a lower level than South in the previous tier system?

Unless your point is about who resides in NA...

Our numbers wouldn't be far off tier one a few months ago, depressing stuff.
