  1. They appear to be a bit of a shambles on and off the park, the appointment of Schreuder was seen by the fans as underwhelming at best - a lot of my Dutch mates thought they should've gone for Peter Bosz who is doing pretty well at PSV, in the past their recruitment has usually been pretty decent but since they sacked Overmars ( sacked for being a creepy dick pic sending weirdo ) it's gone a bit flat, a lot of bickering in the background hasn't helped, they remind me of Liverpool a few years ago when they always seemed to employ Liverpool minded people behind the scenes, can't see Schreuder lasting long.
  2. There's an element of aesetic similarity with most Dutch cities - Amsterdam is of course bigger and probably more ethnically diverse. Take wander round the narrow streets and canals of the Jordan and grab a beer in one of the cosy bars or stroll the tree lined streets of Our Zuid and see where all the rich c*NTS live (you might see my big mate Ruud Gullit out for lunch) there's De Pijp which is a bit more bohemian or head out west along the Kinkerstraat and stuff your face at the foodhallen which is an old converted tram depot or chill in Vondel park and watch all the dogs running round the big dog field, a walk down the banks of the Amstel river is lovely, go for a beer at the IJ brewery - it's in a windmill doesn't get more Dutch than that (they also have a location in Vondel) eat Indonesian food, take a boat tour of the canals but not one of the big glass roofed ones located near Centraal station book one of the smaller open topped ones and sit back and admire the view, if you're feeling energetic climb the tower of the Zuiderkerk and take in the views high above the hustle and bustle.
  3. That's very much a thing of the past nowadays in the centre, they've really clamped down and introduced bike parking areas, if you leave your bike in a non designated area there's a good chance it won't be there when you get back to it as they'll cut the lock and take it away, occasionally stepping onto the cycle lane is fine as long as you look what's coming and don't step out like a total idiot.
  4. Yeah there are some great pubs, my personal favourites are Cafe Gollem on the Raamsteeg and In de Wildeman.
  5. Go for it! Amsterdam is brilliant, yes the centre is overrun with tourists but there are plenty of neighbourhoods and parks where you can avoid the crowds, just don't walk on the red pavement or I'll ring my bell at you and call you a klootzak.
  6. My body count would be astronomical if I wasn't so focused when cycling.
  7. I hear you, it happens every 10 meters cycling through the centre of Amsterdam.
  8. Anyone that describes themselves as a digital nomad.
  9. No worries, a good tip is try using a laptop or a device with a bigger screen as it wouldn't allow me to enlarge the screen when selecting the seat ( that might be something to do with my phone though and I didn't have my glasses with me as I was out and about working ) I was in the north stand and even though it was sold out there were a few empty seats on the first couple of rows as a lot of folk liked to stand up against the fence pitch side, worth checking out the Giesinger Bräustüberl before which is a 5 minute walk from the stadium great beer and food, it's closed on Sundays though.
  10. Go to the tickets tab on their website and register, you'll be able to view upcoming fixtures and when the general sale begins for the game you wish to attend, I didn't hang about this time around it stated the general sale began at 2pm ( I think it's usually 10 days beforehand) and by a few minutes past I had secured a ticket, it's sent to your email address and is described as a print at home ticket - I printed mine just to be on the safe side, everyone else seemed to have printed theirs out I didn't see anyone using their phone at the gate, hope that makes sense I'm about to fly home and I'm still half cut.
  11. TSV 1860 München 1 - Erzgebirge Aue 2 After many years of being a Löwen fan from a distance I finally made it to see them at the Grünwalder Stadion. A beautiful sunny day for my first experience of German football, had a lovely afternoon drinking beer in the Giesing neighborhood with the locals, the atmosphere in the stadium was incredible, beer and big sausages on sale what's not to like. The game itself was a classic 1860 performance - they started well and looked really comfortable until they scored then sat back and invited pressure, of course former 1860 striker Marcel Bär scored the equaliser and after that it was only a matter of time till Erzgebirge got the winner, disappointing result but a fantastic day out. einmal löwe immer löwe
  12. Feines Pilschen at Giesinger Bräustüberl before heading to see 1860 Munchen auf geht's
  13. Pretty sure that wee dug is about to chew on his leg.
  14. Münchner Hell at Giesinger Bräustüberl, sehr gut.
  15. Sorry to lower the tone, spotted this in a painting in the Münchner Stadtmuseum today.
  16. I'm with you on that one, I do a maximum of 4 dogs at a time, the photo was taken when I met up with another 2 members of our team.
  17. My cat would f**king hate that, it's his apartment I just cover the costs so he doesn't murder me in my sleep.
  18. Really enjoyed the Dutch commentary last night - he mentioned Rangers having the worst champions League record last season and then he mentioned Killie.
  19. Of course being the total professional that I am the weed and the beer is only consumed after I've walked the dugs.
  20. I'm going to TSV 1860 Munchen v Erzgebirge Aue this Saturday. You'll see former 1860 player Richy Neudecker playing for Saarbrucken.
  21. Same thing happened to me today, stopped at a tree for some shade with the dogs and noticed a wasp on one of the dogs and flicked it off, next thing I'm getting attacked the little f**kers got me 6 times on my right leg,
  22. It's been a while since we've been called a decent team, cheers mate, McInnes has done an amazing job with the recruitment
