  1. What a strike from young David Watson, why do some St Johnstone players not have a badge on their shirts?
  2. When I first moved to The Netherlands in 2001 I was living in Haarlem and would regularly go and watch HFC Haarlem, even when I eventually moved to Amsterdam I'd go through on a Friday night to see them, they went bust in 2010, interestingly their last game in paid football was a 3-0 away defeat against....yup you guessed it Excelsior.
  3. My home town, my parents live not far from there, really like what they've done to the little covered seating area outside the ground spent many an evening hanging about there as a teenager in the 80s.
  4. I liked the "the header you'll never forget" section, Tam Cowan nominated Biereth's from the St Johnstone game then went on to say he didn't actually see it, despite being at the game, because he'd left early to go for a beer.
  5. I was in Aberdeenshire last week, lovely weather, it's been years since I've been up that way.
  6. Marco van Basten, so much to love about this photo - the Kappa kit, TDK sponsor and the old school Ajax badge.
  7. I heard a rumour that it'll be Joachim Hughes.
  8. Marco Tardelli at the Spain 82 world cup, possibly the best goal celebration ever.
  9. It's really grown on me I wasn't sure on first listen, for me it's 100% a Beatles record the fact that the line Now and then I miss you were the last words John said to Paul when they met at the Dakota building ties it all together, I'll admit I'm rather obsessed with The Beatles so my opinion is definitely biased. It's sentimental and melancholic, from a person perspective the chorus has really resonated with me - the last year has been rather difficult and it's taken it's toll ( Mrs Stevie ktid has been really ill she's slowly getting better but it's been difficult and a lot has changed plus my mother's dementia has gotten worse, she's slowly becoming different person ) after a few listens the chorus really hit me and I found myself getting quite emotional ( I'm a sentimental fool at times ) I was listening to I am the eggpod, I'd highly recommend this podcast to any fans of The Beatles, the host mentioned a quote by Paul Simon about songwriting "the listener completes the song" and that summed it up for me. Right I'm off to my favourite record store to purchase the reissue of the blue album on vinyl.
  10. I'm over visiting my parents and going through old photos, found this one of my first dog Jude with me and my mum in Glen Coe, taken in 1982 or thereabouts.
  11. I didn't know him personally but he always came across on the Killie forum as a really positive and knowledgeable guy.
  12. I watched The gang misses the boat last night, peak untethered rage from Dennis and Frank with his new gang is brilliant, man cheetah had me in stitches..
  13. Ajax going for a very literal solution to their problems - they sink to the bottom and give the gig to John van 't Schip.
  14. Brian Eno and the Baltic Sea Philharmonic Orchestra @ Tivoli Vredenburg grote zaal in Utrecht. I'm a big fan of Eno's work so I was really excited for this one, when we arrived our tickets wouldn't scan the guy told us they messed up some of the seating arrangement and that our seats would have a restricted view so they moved us to the section for wheelchair users which worked out great we were really close to the stage. The bulk of the performance was from Eno's 2016 album The Ship, the rest was a handful of older stuff, interestingly some backing vocals and the spoken word parts were provided by Peter Serafinowicz quite funny looking across and seeing him standing there, he had a big grin on his face throughout. A great night and an amazing concert.
  15. Garrett T Capps & Nasa Country @ Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht, San Antonio's very own space cowboy rolled into town and he put on one helluva show.
  16. Maurice Steijn leaves Ajax by mutual consent.
  17. I'm staying at Fyvie castle near Aberdeen for a few nights in December, apparently it's haunted, I'm going to have some fun pretending to hear things and generally jumping out and scaring folk.
  18. Amsterdam mayor Femke Halsema has come out with a rather bizarre statement, she's not the most popular mayor the city has had in recent years, her predecessor Eberhard Van Der Laan was really popular but unfortunately died of cancer in 2017, her husband and son were involved in some dodgy stuff at the start of her tenure and she was criticized for some of her actions during the pandemic. Anyway yesterday she announced that if Ajax win the title this season ( lol ) they can have their celebration on Museumplein, this is where they usually have their huldiging ( winning celebration) but it's been held at their stadium in recent times due to the financial cost and impact on the city centre, she's clearly trolling probably not the smartest move politically and the timing of the announcement is strange.
  19. Completely understandable, it's very funny.
