A got my first ST from the youth football clubs, would probably have been going anyway as was going with my dad, but it does get kids into going to Ayr games. A few parents will be paying so will get cash in that way.

I'm 40 in a week or so and got properly into it with my free season ticket paid by Bill Barr because I played boys club.  That's probably pretty common for my age

I'm currently at the Blackpool Cup with a local u9s team (mix of clubs supported obv) and pretty disappointed that Ayr were meant to have players at Forehill assembly on Monday but cancelled at last minute.  They've obv double booked if Bryden has been sent to Dailly and Dalmilling instead but it's interesting to see how something like that cancellation comes across so badly - over hearding kids gutted cos they know the players but parents saying "Ayr are shite anyway"

Wee things like turning up sound trivial but makes such a difference

Good win tonight tho so I'm away to bed happy 💪

  2. Delighted to report I'll miss this as I'm down at the Blackpool Cup with the wee man's team - although you never know, might find a friendly Sports Bar prepared to stick it on the far away telly.

Although saying that, I think I've seen us win 6 times in the last 12 months and 2 have been against Airdrie so maybe I'm somehow a good jinx.

Be very surprised if we take anything based on the form / injury list / fact that surely McCabe isn't mental enough to somehow not work out how easy it is to beat us.

Airdrie fans we met in their stadium bar at the last game were all pretty sound so that's maybe where they've gone wrong against us - playing too much good football and fans being too welcoming

I’m checking the team from now on before committing to going, I’m not paying £22 to watch Fraser Bryden attempt to play football. He offers absolutely nothing, so it’s impossible for Amartey to offer less

Afraid to say that's what I did today - opted for an amateur game instead.  There's just absolutely nothing to get excited about with watching us at home these days.

  4. Based on the highlights we were maybe a wee bit fortunate to get away with some of the chances Caley missed - however as said, that penalty is utterly horrific and therefore I'm happy to ignore the misses and say justice done in the end!

Just looking at the table there shows what a massive win that could turn out to be - really need to follow it up with another positive result on Saturday now

That's something we absolutely should do.  Firstly for the reaction by the hard of thinking and secondly because it's free money.

I hate sponsorship in football but I'm actually pro naming rights because you can just ignore it, a company can't buy something and force you to call it X but they can force their logo onto your kit.

The folk that complain about stadium naming never complain about seeing corporate logos on tops, it's just weird Da brainwashing.

Aye agree 100%.  Get some cash in and call it whatever you want, me and I assume about 99% of others will still call it Somerset.

And played 90 minutes against a decent  Motherwell team on Thursday

It's a shame how it's ended and personally I think he could have been treated better.

Football wise he's a middle third Championship keeper IMO.  Therefore replaceable but one that we could easily make an arse of and downgrade.

He’s the best keeper we have but that’s tragic if that’s the reason why he isn’t playing. He needs to get a grip

Really?  So if we offered Dowds or for example Chalmers or...anyone a contract for next season and they said no just now you'd happily have them told they weren't playing anymore this season?

If he says he won’t play, he’ll be in breach of contract and won’t get paid.

"Told he won't play again" that should have said - I was saying it seems a strange thing to tell someone they won't play again yet still play them in the reserves and name them on the bench.

As far as I can tell the guy himself is gutted at the whole thing

I can understand why he would be frustrated if that was how things unfolded tbh.

I would find it quite bizarre if he has been told he won’t start again though, given he is our only back up goalkeeper right now.

Aye.  Won't play again was actually the quote which is clearly not true as he played for reserves midweek and is obviously gonna come on if Clarke gets sent off etc

  10. Re: Charlie - sounds like he was unhappy at being told at the last minute he wasn't playing at Ibrox after being in the original lineup and bringing family and pals up to watch.  Was then offered a new deal and said no and has now been told he won't start again and is now looking for a new club back in England.

It’s been a decent Saturday results wise but today ‘might’ have been the day we wanted to play Morton. Morton are on a run of not great results. Fast forward to the rearranged game and they might be back on form.

Definitely- they seem like they struggle massively without Oakley.

A genuinely pathetic first half performance.

Possibly worst half of season?    A wake up call if ever one was needed that this relegation battle going to the wire - could well be 9th by next game.

Absolutely zero sign of us getting back into this but hopefully a combo of Pars deciding to sit back and us making a couple of changes somehow help
