  1. I don't think Adams has either - we signed him from Wigtown who are South of Scotland which I think still counts as 'senior'. Think McGuffie was on loan at a junior team though (Cumnock or Glenafton rings a bell) so technically he counts.
  2. Will be interesting to see what we do in January. Obviously the big question will be whether or not we sell Shankland (i personally think he will stay - if he leaves in January he can only go someone that meets our asking price, whereas if he stays until the end of the season you'd think he could easily be on 35+ goals and would have about 20 teams to choose from). From memory I think Docherty and Ferguson both have deals expiring in January so not sure what happens there.
  3. I'm sure it was him that was superb when we beat Hearts at home in the cup
  4. It's an unfortunate run - think by the time we have played Partick we will have had 9 away games out of 12!
  5. I see the reserves lost to Queens Park this week - anyone know the team / scorers?
  6. I'm more worried about the fact that guys around my age in Higgins and Moff still think ripped knee jeans are acceptable. And as for Shankland's nae socks and school / work shoes combo? Well, it's Shankland so I love it.
  7. Aye, considering they played game about in Toulon in the summer as well. Mind you McCrorie played 20 mins or so of a friendly for Rangers in the summer so is probably not far off a call up to the full squad now haha. Good that Smith got another 90 mins at left back as you'd think he will be there for Ayr for the next couple of games at least!
  8. Annoyingly last week I ended up backing Shankland FGS and Shankland 2 or more, and didnt back the Ayr win / Shankland anytime that I usually do. I did jokingly scold him for passing to Moff when I was getting a pic of him and my boy at the open day haha
  9. I've backed Shankland and Dobbie both to score anytime at 7/1. A couple of my pals have £50+ on Dobbie and Shankland both to score 2 or more - i put a very small stake on that one too as i was scared to miss out! It's went from 125/1 to 66/1 haha.
  10. So - deadline day. Who is Shanklnd off to then? I need something to shite myself about all day.
  11. Fair point. A model pro probably wouldn't have even mentioned previous clubs. He still came accross well though.
  12. You're right - never heard of him. That's interesting again - there are probably various levels of what 'not spoilt' constitutes! For example I beleive Jack Ruddy who we had on loan from Wolves last season felt he was well above the jobs he was asked to do. To be honest I assumed Kerr was meaning youth players at Falkirk so didnt ask any questions - it's only in the last 24 hours or so I read that Hartley moved the focus away from that. Wasn't having a dig - just repeating what I was told. Kerr came accross really well and like a model pro, yet Queen of the South fans and possibly a few others say he is a bad egg and a disruptive influence in the dressing room. Who knows. He's been a superb signing for us so far though.
  13. I was actually chatting to Kerr at the open day on Sunday - he was absolutely scathing about Hartley and predicted he would be binned very soon. Said all the players hated him, even some of the new guys already. I just assumed it was sour grapes against the guy that freed him. He also said McCall was "a f**king mental case, but brilliant to play under" or something along those lines. Interestingly enough he was showing me and my wee boy the home dressinf rooms and pointing out how having your own action pic and a storage box under your bench in the changing room is a luxury at Ayr, and you have to do everything else yourself, compared to Falkirk where everything is given to you on a plate and players don't have to lift a finger.
  14. A decision which I am 99% certain is a massive positive for Ayr Utd, and one in which he could easily have made the oppsite choice. Our manager being sought out by a bigger club in the same league and knocking the move back is a big moment for us IMO. If we kick off on Saturday with McCall in charge and Shankland leading the line then I think we can all feel pretty pleased about things.
  15. The club tweeted just there and I basically shat myself, only to find it was advertising some SPFL sticker album launch. Interesting enough but possibly not the subject folk are most interested in right now haha
  16. I think having either Forrest or Crawford on the left would help get the best out of Harvie as they move inside and open up the space. Could be the same on the other side for Smith but Forrest or Geggan in that instance. Seemed quite a few occasions on Tuesday night where full backs were looking to overlap but either McGuffie or McDaid were taking up the space and the move broke down. Especially down the left in the first half.
  17. D'jaffo from about 30 yards for the world of me I can't remember who against He scored a beauty from long range away at Morton
  18. I thought that too but read this morning that it's all leagues, with Championship and below still able to sign frees and loans, hence Villa trying to rush through McGinn off Hibs
  19. With 9 for the season already, is Shankland already ahead of our top scorer in all competitions last time we were in this league? Was it Forrest with 8 or 9 or something?
  20. Was a high for me too. Maybe i'm asking too much but 129 goals or whatever, a title win on the last day and a derby win is up there for me as a 34 year old. And today - was in Tam O Shanter beer garden pre game with loads of Thistle fans - all seem to love McCall and the style of football - loads seem to want him back!
  21. What about last season? Seemed to go pretty well from what I remember. I personally enjoyed beating Killie in the pile of shite too I have to admit..
